I’ve had partners in the past want me to be “daddy” for them and i couldn’t bring myself to do it honestly. my last long term partner brought it up, and i was so happy for whatever reason. From the time i met her i had such a paternal want to just protect and coddle and nurture her, and it quickly became one of my favorite things ever to just hold her and read to her, rub her head to sleep and just tell her “i’m here for you. i’m not going to go away, or hurt you. i love you, and i’ll always always be here just for you, no matter what”. it was just so sweet and truthfully, it made me totally melt anytime she was in that head space. i think because she could be a sweet girl when she wanted. so i don’t think it’s weird in any way, it’s very sweet imo because it’s a very vulnerable position and just.. thing. I used to take care of someone who often went into little space and age regressed when the grumpies got to them or when they needed to be taken care of. Before their bedtime, i would sometimes read to them from their favorite books or sing them their favorite lullabies or even teach them how to play music on their toy instruments they had. I've always naturally had a nurturing side to myself and seeing other people feel happy really brought forth a sense of relaxation and enjoyment within myself. Hearing this audio today, and finding this audio today, brought me back to one of my happiest moments in my life becaus taking care of this person and being with my little was one of my happiest moments of my life. I'm glad I was able to provide that person a safe space for them to feel vulnerable to help them heal. And so through this video, I was reminded of how necessary and important it is to have someone or someplace where you can feel vulnerable and safe to let yourself begin healing. I also want to comment on this video and the video you made where you mother the listener. You talk about how it is not a sexual/kink thing, and I agree. What it is, at least for me, is that in our lives, I don’t think we ever felt safer then when we were little, and being in the loving embrace of a parent.
I read a book about soldiers in WWII, specifically on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, and, most soldiers, even the ones who were married, as they were dying, were calling out for their mothers. So, whenever we feel scared, stressed, depressed, frustrated, or whatever…I think there is a part of us that reverts back to feeling like a helpless child, and someone to mother/father us is sometimes what we need. It is not sexual, it also does not make us any weaker. It is just human nature.
