I don't like that the joke "Bailey's on the loose and he's got a gun and he's got a motive to kill!" "I'm a cop!" was just copy pasted but the punchline was changed so it no longer makes sense.
They changed it to Barry.( the name of Jeff blind character)
Yeah, the "man in a hurry" character that Jeff plays is actually named Barry Swift. This was revealed in one of the "Nightmare Time" episodes.
Jerry (Boy Jerry) and Girl Jeri are also from "Nightmare Time".
@@Jason_Bryant I think we're getting off topic here, I've seen Nightmare Time, my point is that they kept the setup to the joke written for Officer Bailey identical even though it no longer works for Barry Swift.
@@janNowaTheoretically you could make a LONG string of not-actually-canon connections about Barry being the one to play the Father in TTO (as it was confirmed to be performed at the Starlight) and have him be carrying the prop rifle to the theatre (as he's in a hurry to get ready for the show) which is funny but requires a whole lot of outside setup and doesn't solve the problem of the line not working for him, since (obviously) this isn't actually true and therefore has no implications of such in the filming (it'd probably be best shown with him also carrying the hat used in the show).

Nick said they wanted to have a Charlotte cameo as well, but it just wasn't in the cards. Where do you think they would've fit it into the song? Maybe in place of accusing Donna? Maybe she'd make a comment where they spliced in Barry's second shot?
certain it was in Donna's spot, she's the only one who's in both versions.
They replaced Jerry with Gerald, I can imagine they would have used Charlotte for Charlie instead. I can totally imagine Charlotte saying "What? How DARE YOU" with her accent.
Because let's face it, Charlie wasn't exactly memorable in Nightmare Time. Pretty sure he was thrown in to replace someone else.

the way i was so confused when watching the proshot bc i saw the show live and was like they didnt have all these cameos, but honestly so fun for the team!
Ideally imo the best version would be a mix of both so ((in order of all the names that are different) ziggy, Barry, Karen, Gerald
something else i noticed is that in ‘nerdy prudes must die’ (song) the part of the i want you to repeat after me lyrics are different in the recording they sing ‘will you pray for me’ in de pro-shot ‘who will pray for me’

I like the original version better.
It supports the overall theme of the song, the citizens of Hatchetfield accusing each other and sending blame to anyone but themselves.
I mean, these cameos are also all Hatchetfield citizens, but the original works better on stage

There's no such thing as a true timeline. All of these are real in their own way, they all happen, Lords in Black are outside forces that very clearly can manipulate time since Time Bastard is referenced here

Within the song, basically everyone in Hatchetfield is accusing everyone else. The song is just a snippet of the larger-scale mob-justice being drummed up. Within that context, any name thrown in there, whether from the Cast Recording, the Pro-Shot, or made up by Jeff, Nick, or Matt and never released to the public are technically canon. While we don't see Harmony Jones or Frank Pricely accused, they probably were, just off-screen.

OK so for anyone who was in the live show or are part of starkid- were the extra actors on the set? The audience didnt seem to have reactions so i was never really sure if they added them in post
they filmed it later without the crowd/added it in post! They’ve done pickup shots for the past Hatchfeild shows where they filmed or refilmed parts when it’s just the actors there! There’s been times where the actors have posted behind the scenes stuff of them filming that way so I promise I’m not pulling this info out of nowhere lol
@allisonbrock9563 Tysm! It was something that had bothered me when I first watched the musical since it was one if the only times I'd noticed something like it in the Hatchetfield series which is really all I've watched from Starkid so far.

I know for Black Friday Curt Mega (one of the actors) posted a bunch of behind the scenes stuff on his TH-cam and most of the stuff they filmed without a crowd genuinely shocked me! I know with recent shows they usually film a few live performances and edit them together as well, which is insane considering how quick they get them up online here! Also if you’re looking to watch more of their shows Twisted and Trail to Oregon are some of my favs!

I know Curt Mega (an actor in some of the shows) posted some behind the scenes stuff for Black Friday on his youtube channel, and genuinely some of it I was like ?? that wasn’t live ??! And im pretty sure Nick’s said they film a few different nights of a show and edit them together. It’s all super seamless, I prob wouldn’t have noticed either if I didn’t see the behind the scenes stuff !

Paul isn’t singing in this, it’s another character named Jerry (also known as boy jerry) from their nightmare time series they did during the pandemic !

@@Devlerbat I’m pretty sure the shirt/tie he’s wearing is from Paul’s costume later on with Emma but the jacket is different. Bryce’s character in the digital ticket version calls him Jerry in this scene (instead of pointing to Gerald like in the youtube version). Starkid keeps the ticketed version behind a paywall so I guess the uploader of this vid added the photos over the audio so it wouldn’t get taken down, since they ask people not to share those paid shows since that’s how they make money. It’s definitely Paul with Emma, and Jerry in this song, but the editing on this does make it confusing lol. That plus the fact it seems like he could’ve had enough time to wear like the virginity rocks shirt in this and change into Paul’s clothes later
