I'm definitely going to keep the timelapses for a while. These builds usually take 3-4 hours so It wouldn't be feasible without editing. I dont want to do anything longer than 45 minutes.
I really feel like this game is 90% of the way to becoming what we wanted it to be from the start. It's not quite there yet but it's getting there. Mods make the game in CS.
Thank you so much! I plan on releasing a video every Friday for the foreseeable future so hopefully I'm able to keep making videos people want to watch!
@@GenericLemons While I'd love more videos on a weekly basis, please, please don't overwork yourself! Don't stress yourself to release a video every friday. If you can, do it! Great! But don't force yourself. Live can be stressfull sometimes and your wellbeing is the most important thing, way more important than the videos!! Take care and I'm super excited for your next video (:
WOW just wow, this is incredible dude, by far the most detail I’ve ever seen in Cities Skylines 2! Keep it up, keep making this videos and don’t give up. You should have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Love this
That is lovely man! I'd love to see that town develop. I've been missing these kind of videos in CS2. The attention to details is on point but are you planning on keeping detailing it so much in the future? I feel like the more you expand it the less you can focus on small scales.
Thank you! I'd like to keep the detailing. Part of the reason I decided to choose a small rural town is I could build in a smaller scale and thus have more detail. This map doesn't have a lot of buildable terrain, so I'd like to to keep the quality of the builds as high as possible.
You need the surfaces from the extra detailing mod, some of the tile surfaces can be placed on top of roads so you can overlap on the shoulder where people walk. Then overlap a walking area on the shoulder and the rest of your sidewalk with a bunch of pedestrian access location points.... That way, the sidewalk use is seamless!
You're well on your way to making a significant mark on the City Skylines detailing community. Your first two videos are fantastic! If I may, I'd like to offer some constructive criticism regarding your video editing. Your music choice is perfect however there is a slight imbalance with the music audio and the dialogue. It is a challenge sometimes to hear what you are saying. I would recommend lowering the music volume while speaking. One other thing I would recommend is either cutting out the parts of the video where you're presumably zooming out and projecting the camera to get a better perspective or finding a way to keep the camera angle more consistent and steady. The rapid movements take away from the viewers ability to observe what your observe in those moments and they tend to become headache inducing after a while. By trimming those parts out you can effectively slow down the video in it's entirety and perhaps even offer longer videos as a result. Only my two cents. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the future. Cheers!
@@GenericLemons what pc do you actually use? I probably wouldn’t be able to build more than 2 towns with your level of detail in the games current state
Its difficult for sure, I don't want to flatten out the existing terrain too much, but it makes it challenging to keep it. Trying to strike a good balance.
Sweet build! I had to laugh at the stubbornness of the cims as they refuse to use the sidewalk and march along the edge of the road from which the sidewalks have been removed. I missed what you did with those: did you run invis ped paths along or use park areas?
Thanks! Yeah I think I cut it out. But I ran invisible pedestrian paths through the sidewalks so they'd use them instead of walking on the road. Seems like there are still some stubborn few though lol.
I added an invisible pedestrian path towards the end, I think I accidentally cut that out though. Some cims are still stubborn and use the roads though. Thanks for watching!
Great town! Just one question, what mod did you use to connect utilities to building not next to the road? You have building further from the street and is still able to have utilities connected to them
could you maybe told me how you can have the small glas icon on the buttom right? Ive installed it but its not showing up ingame. Do you maybe know whats the problem?
Thats the Find It mod. If you already have it installed I'm not sure. Make sure to let your mods load in the main menu before you jump into your save. Other than that I'm not sure. Hope this helps!
Hey, it looks niiiice. But a question from a noob detailer, how you manage the road, pedestrian, power and water access need of those buildings? because one moment they had the alerts, and then they dissapeared. Uh? Help! haha.
I'm using the Move It mod. You can bring them back quite a bit after initially placing them. While you're moving them around it'll show alerts, but then once you stop moving them they will catch up and stop alerting. Its a delicate balancing act lol.
@@GenericLemons oh, ok. I always move them but as soon as they show those alertes I move them closer again. I was confused because you put them so far from the road that I thought you did something else to connect them. So, you’re saying that they accept their fate in some point and connect back even that far? Hahaha please confirm. But, thanks! Haha
It to fast the eyes can not keep up and miss all the intricate detail. I rather the slow methodical videos that show the detailing in 35-45min videos and thanks I subscribed as well slow down and smell the roses (pause and reset life)
Fair enough I agree. I didn't like how fast the timelapse was either, I was trying to keep it under 30 minutes. But it seems like people want longer videos so I'll definitely be slowing it down in the next episode. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Why don't you make a big series? It would be cool to see your city... to see how you will manage and handle the economy. I think it would be great. I hope you see this message.
Thanks! I'm using preserve photo mode. Believe it or not I don't really change any settings other than the time of day. I'll change up the time of day depending on what I'm looking at to get the best lighting in the moment.
Excess surface parking is a big issue in the US but I get what you're saying. Ultimately this region will have a lot more population as time goes on and a lot of people will be driving to this area for shopping or university.
Cómo se llama el mod para que pueda colocar los edificios que quiero y funcionen sin pedir la zonificación y cómo conectarlos a la carretera y a los servicios cuando los moviste?
You'll need 'Plop The Growables' to place down buildings manually regardless of zoning. You'll also need 'Find It' to get the menu where you can search for buildings and props. I use 'Move It' to move them farther from the street after placing them. I also recommend 'Unified Icon Library' so you can see pictures of the buildings you're placing in the menu.
That's the kind of content we are lacking of Cities Skylines 2. Great Video.
I'd rather have long videos!
What is not lacking is long and slow paced videos, maybe this person should be different and do have time laps with talking over instead.
Thanks! Noted.

Finally someone with a nice and calm voice. Not talking too much, but just summarizing at the end. I went straight to the outro, very well done.

An old historic water mill by the creek could serve as a reason for the town existing in the place it does! Would look cool I think.
the main street will become inreasingly lively as the population grows. would love to see it then!
Absolutely, lots of expansion coming soon!
A firehouse would really fit in into your small town😂 great detail work, already love your channel 😅👍👍

Where you put your first custom sidewalk the cims aren’t using it. Should add an invisible walking path.
