Congrats to Gus Bus on his commitment to the University of Oregon!! 🦆 For the best viewing experience, change your video quality to 1080p, go full screen, and crank the volume 💯
Might be a little too niche, but in 2012 we had the 5150s as team bats for the first year as BBCOR and we won a state championship here in Maryland - fast forward to 2014-15 I had the black and red 5150 for my final year of metal bat leagues also the same year UVA was mashing with them in the CWS. Would be dope to see this video for the evolution of the 5150s or Rawlings bats in general.
I still have my 2012 5150 Rawlings and love it. I played also when BBCOR first came out, I was a junior in high school. That bat had some pop to it! Even has the BESR certification!!
I swung that exact same s1 and a 5150 my freshman year of highschool and couldn't pick a favorite. Both great bats and swung those same bats over newer models each year, amazing bats.
Most durable bat I've ever had 718 Louisville been using it for 2 years hasn't run out of juice yet absolutely love it... back in 2017 I hit a bomb in regionals with the S1
Letssss goooo I’ve been telling you Will the 718 is cracked even the -5 was, I swung that bat for 4 years I even had to search for months to find a -3 still in the wrapper 🔥🔥🔥
The voodoo series has not made serious changes since besr ended lmao pick whatever paint job you like and whether or not you want a warranty and you're good to go. There have been TINY changes but it's mainly about the connection piece and alloy composition which only affects stiffness and longevity. That rattle is usually from the connection BUT it may also be the restrictor ring breaking, which is something that was well known among tpx users before the 2014 merger, especially z1000 and bbcor exogrid users Also, you gotta remember that early bbcors are transitional period bats and that means most designs are based on compensating for a certain playstyle. A kid that's hitting tanks with a besr will want to still hit tanks, so you make the bbcor bats heavier to compensate. Most bbcor bats were besr shells with restrictor rings so as to not waste inventory. Restrictor rings add weight and bbcor uses the same minimum MOI limit as besr so I'll be impressed if you find any 2012-2013 bbcor bat as light as the lightest bats today
Now we got a Bat Madness idea get the best bats of all the year in one tournament this video just showed that some of the old are better then today’s bat
15 year old son swings 32/29 Voodoo One, has both 2021/2022, and sometimes 33/30 Bonesaber, but just picked up the Limited Edition The Goods 33/30, and he hits bombs with The Goods. He hasnt used it in game yet, but hope to see him use it tomorrow night.
i had the same suspicion about composite bbcor bats, i swore that the cf5 i was swinging in hs was way more juiced than the newer cf zen somebody on the team had and my bat was multiple years old and battered at that point.
You guys should do the now illegal Easton MAKO little league bats from the 2013-2015 years. I believe they’re drop 11. The old XL1 from those times were crazy juiced as well
The Easton xL3 the yellow one with Easton spelled out in the back was one of the best bats of all time and I liked the 917 the best those were two bats I swung growing up
My son plays 16U ball here in the Midwest. The squad has played 25 games. I've seen a handful of absolute in-game tanks + bat flips. All have been with the Meta ...
Just like the newer composites you have the break in the old ones. That white xl1 is better than the 2022 meta (not the red one) but just like how the meta has to get broken in you have to break in the xl as well. You would know it’s broken in if it sounds like a thud. Out the wrapper it will sound like the select pwr kinda. I think bbcor is all over the place in terms of its generation of bats. I’m going to game the bonesaber for my hs freshman year. Just got it for $200 brand new
My oldest boy swung the S1 back in 2012 & 2013, went to college and swung a 34” S1. He put that 34” in my about to be a Sr son for legion ball, first at bat with it he hit one out. It’s all he swings now! Found a 33” on eBay for $60 so had to grab that one in case he faces some heat.
We had an Easton rep come to my juco a couple years back and he basically told us alloy barrels come hot out of the box whereas composite barrels get hotter the more you use them
Old composite bats reign supreme, i remember the easton omen was a beast, then i swung the xl1 in both drop 8 (absolutely ridiculous) then the drop 3 bbcor, and i swear the sound that bat makes is like nothing i have ever heard, and the pop it had made even less sense.
Do you know what the difference is between the Easton BB11S1 which is in the video and the Easton BB13S1? Is it the same bat that just looks different or does it preform different also?
I think what I took away from the analysis is that - (1) composite two piece - older/broken in bats will age well, up until they break. (2) two piece alloy - the new bats are solid, but you may find an older outlier. (3) one piece alloy, the newer bats are much better refined and balanced.
swing looks very strong cam would u consider gaming the 5150 rumor has it a 33.5 may be available late December everything else remains the same I really enjoy my 21 33 model lots of pop big sweet spot and power.
I also found 2 33 1 34 Easton fuze 360 hybrids from one of your old videos I bought all 3 new in wrapper happy to send u one if interested I like those hybrids balanced lots of pop power just rare to see anything bur 32s
@Reid James, the 2016 Rawlings Velo is the first I had experience with. That was the blue/green. Not a bad bat. I just thought the 2017-19 upgrades were big improvements.
I swung an XL2 that broke on me (Broken handle) an S2 that broke on me as well (broken connector) and then a Paradox that I still have. All 3 were pretty dang hot though.
@@anthonybeffa can’t really think of a bat that I’d compare it to. Definitely not a bat for weaker individuals. Pretty damn end loaded. If you’re a power hitter, I’d definitely recommend. Just keep in mind that the swing will feel difference due to the imbalance, but once you get that down, it’s a blast to use.
What would you say is better between the 2018 prime and the 2020 meta? Also, a CF7 review would be dope! I used that in middle school and brought it back sometimes during high school because I used a 32 inch throughout BBCOR days.
Congrats to Gus Bus on his commitment to the University of Oregon!! 🦆

Cam's hitting has really improved over the last 2 seasons.

I have the 2017 5150 and have compared it to the 2019 version and they feel quite a bit different.
My 2016 5150 feels hotter than my team's new 2021 5150.
I still have my 2012 5150 Rawlings and love it. I played also when BBCOR first came out, I was a junior in high school. That bat had some pop to it! Even has the BESR certification!!
i’ve been asking them to review the 5150s i love the 2017 model
Hit my only high school hr with the xl2 back in '12. Absolutely loved the '12 easton era of bats so this video made my night.
I swung that exact same s1 and a 5150 my freshman year of highschool and couldn't pick a favorite. Both great bats and swung those same bats over newer models each year, amazing bats.
Can you guys do a full review on the prim 918? thanks
The s1 was my gamer from 2012 junior year hs to my sophomore year college and I freakin loved it
best youtube chanel out there. best place to find bat info.
Most durable bat I've ever had 718 Louisville been using it for 2 years hasn't run out of juice yet absolutely love it... back in 2017 I hit a bomb in regionals with the S1
How is the weight on the 718. Is it heavy and if so what bat does it compare too.
In little league I strap a team with 919 Primes and Selects. The Primes are lighter, but the Selects are just the goats
Need to do an updated video on this again! Love the content keep it up!
Y’all should do more old bats. I enjoy those more. They are so hot. And seeing the revolution of these bats is awesome. 😎
been using that s1 for 2 years and absolutely love it
Whatever new camera or sound malfunction you changed keep it forever because the sound off the bats sound SO nice
6:50 you got that cf slicing to right extra backspin on at that backyard shot. Nice!
Cam looks so much stronger, good to see
the beauty behind it all, I got the S1 used 31&33 bbcor for $50 each locally
Ik you were hyped

That 2012 Easton S1 is my favorite bat of all time. Swung it all throughout high school.

The old 2015 Rawlings Velo is so slept on
I use the 2018 Louisville Slugger Prime 918 BBCOR
33-30
Try the new limited edition Louisville slugger select pwr 2023
It’s gonna be the same
Exit velo test the old favorites!!!
Loved the S3 back in the day. Smoked 3 home runs in a game with it in 2012

I game the XL3 now as a high schooler who swung the LL model of these old eastons.
You guys should try to do this at an mlb stadium
Wish you all the best, Cam good luck in college, Gus for MVP, the leader of BB thank you for all your hard work
Happy 4th bat bros🇺🇸
Neon batting gloves 🧤 🔥

Picked up a 2018 voodoo one piece for 100 bucks on sideline swap. Kiddo has swung it well.
2022 3-piece 918 & Meta 2022 both are the best and the Select 718 the 3-Piece Hybrid was fun to play during my high school years
Just be careful buying used old Easton S3's they get barrel wobble quiet often
Yall should do the voodoos from the first to the latest one

Glad to see the S1 make an appearance
Now u gotta do a review on the s1
Make a video on the mashup-5
Should’ve brought out the Voodoo Overlord. Would’ve been crazy
Need exit velo test of all these bats for sure
No lie I found the 2018 voodoo one on Craigslist for 20 bucks and got it and the thing hits tanks.
Only few know how great that s1 truly was
Kids are getting bigger and faster sooner than days of old...they have to deaden the bats to keep kids on the mound safe

I swing that S1 in high school still one of my favorites
This helped out a lot for my sons jr high bat choices.
What’s the swing weight on the 718 compared to the select pwr. I don’t know which one to buy.
the 718 swings pretty similar to the Select Pwr I think. A little more endloaded if anything
@@baseballbatbros do you think the 718 is hotter than the 2022 select pwr?
I had a 918 and I gave it to my cousin who used it this season for high school and hit a tank with it dead center. It’s a really hot bat
I used to swing a bbcor vexxum and then I switched to a 2014 XL1 and then to a Mako. The good ole days of early bbcor
I love those old bbcor bats sounds. AMSR
Bruh the voodoo paradox is still my gamer
I still think that the 2019 Rawling Quatro Pro is the best composite bbcor bat ever
Interesting when you take in the fact that people say that composite bats go dead when really there getting hotter
Gus with the crazy smooth swing
do a green zen vs cat 9 composite video
YESS AND THROW IN THE XL1

I currently coach a 12u 50-70 team and a 15U team and I’m forcing most of my kids to use my S1…Best bet I ever had
Also Bat Bros, I was the kid who had the $4-500 bat every year and still…S1 is my king to this day

i would love for you guys to review the easton typhoon bbcor, its like 25 on ebay, i hit tanks with it

I remember Ole Miss swinging all 3 of those Easton's from 12-14 until the bumblebee came out
Cam rocking the blenders we love to see it
That PRIME 981 SOUNDS LIKE A WOOY WITH GOD MODE BUILT
My dad will always stand by The Easton Project 3 is the greatest to ever exist
Try out the 2016 bbcor combat vigor it’s juiced and swings so light
Yo I have an 2006 besr DeMarini vexxum if you wanna try it out it’s a 33 30
The prime 718 is the HOTTEST bbcor I ever swung. Only hit 2 bombs in HS and it was with that. By far the best.
That blue select is a dream bat just can find one for sale
14:46 My high school self searching up what prominent is😂
You've got to try the 2012 TPX Z1000. That bat was insane
Sounds so wild. Bat goes for over 800 bucks on ebay to this day
I think they made a video with the z1000 awhile back.
Aaron Judge with the S1 back at Fresno State is just not fair!
Could you make a video on what you would say the best bbcore bat is for an affordable price
