So jealous what a beautiful place and special people. Don't be in a hurry to let the tourist back in. You have everything you need to sustain yourselves. What all countries need to do now look inwards not out. Keep yourselves safe and strong. Arohanui.
Beautiful place to have a holiday! I can’t wait to go back again. Low key relaxed no fast food chains and all local cuisine. The locals are super friendly. My family and I have great memories of this little paradise in the pacific! Where’s my scooter brrrrrrrrrm ❤️
Stay strong Aitutaki my uncle and family lived amoung your people sent there as a maori missionary in the 70s and learnt your language and culture his name is John Rangiaho ,we know him here as Kereru Rangiaho ,Amuri Village ,stay close to your God ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏
You people are rich, I mean rich in sustainability you have everything you need natural food off the land and sea a helping and sharing community you don't need to return to the needs of the western way of life or their money you have land that's all that you need it work for our ancestors why can't we make work again
I had the good fortune to spend 3 weeks in the Cooks & 1 day on Aitutaki in 1993. Beautiful country full of friendly people. I've never been able to eat a store-bought mango since. Tiny & tasteless compared to the ones falling off the trees there. Very glad to hear that you've kept Covid19 out. I know your economy will recover. Meanwhile, the reef walkers will go on bringing in the fresh fish every day. All the best from a Canadian getting ready for another winter.
Beautiful place...One Foot Island has so many memories for us when I worked in Rarotonga years ago. Must be a struggle for the Tourism industry right now with Covid and the sooner NZ can re open borders the better....only when the Auckland outbreak is contained and eradicated.
We've been lucky enough to have visited. A beautiful place with beautiful people. I wish them all good things and may God bless them. Love from England.
I miss you my family. My uncles and aunties in Vaipae and Amuri. I miss the beach and the green and the food. I miss Aiutitaki 😭. Love from the tekotiez.
I was there a few years ago when Aitutaki was less organized to pick off tourists. I arrived for some off shore fishing, which was excellent. The ONE PROBLEM is the presence of STONE FISH in the lagoons and at the tide line and the absence of antidote for stone fish injuries at the inadequate clinic. The centipedes and mosquitoes didn't help me enjoy my stay. The local people run hot and cold. There are some wonderful islanders but then there are some to avoid without knowing who is who. Anyway, it's a long way to go for a holiday and I'm not sure it's really worth the time and cost, these days.
And it's because our people live in a way no one in the world, will ever understand. They live strictly under tradition rules as I'm from there I'm Daniela and varu and William and born there...a slice of heaven and the fire never goes out.
Aitutaki the best island in the universe go back to the tried & proven way of life Anau the land & ocean will sustain you as it has always done. Western civilization is a trap you don't need it.
To all my hoa on the island, you made good decisions keep COVID free! Here in Tahiti we were ahead, now not so much... five metua ua pohe I Pape’ete! Kia Kaha koutou et Arohanui.
Yes we do get those back in the cook islands, but our people are huge believers in the almighty heaven. Every time mother nature strikes our people always lower our heads down to pray and ask God for his protection.
