I really love cw crystal tier system. I loved grinding and upgrading, go back into game stronger. Wish they made that system more deep and harder so you can't just finish it in a week. That was my replayablity in cold war, the grind was actually meaningful

It's happened for a long time now and vanguard is either going to be the most egregious example or the breaking point. Mid season 1/season 2 until an Easter egg, which they've said they want to make "more accessible" so realistically it'll just be maybe 3-6 hours long. I recommend looking at that departed from what we've dealt with up to now with bo4 and cold war. Now I know I know Activision is forcing so much and it's an awful situation, but that doesnt then mean we should continue to play and just accept these things because of that, it means we need to actually grow a backbone and stand up to that. I mean it takes I think max 15 minutes until you've experienced all this game has and it will remain that way until January, which won't change much by itself.

After seeing gameplay, I can't wait for Halo No Nonsense Guides All jokes aside, I think there's a good bit of content to be made about Halo. While channels dedicated to the game's lore already exist, I think that's something you'd be sick at. Especially with the perspective of someone coming into the series just now, I think there's real potential in long-form story explanations. With the hype Infinite is getting, I'm sure there are tons of people who would like to be caught up, or just learn more about some of the game's obscure storylines or factions.
Genuinely, watching Milo play the old halo games and having so much fun makes me just want him to abandon zombies and go full halo, or do a mix of both. Zombies is just gonna keep doing the same thing of releasing broken or with zero content, so he should play a game that'll ACTUALLY have content on release. So: Halo.

In the downtime where there's nothing, Halo videos. Infinite is taking place after 5, so there's literally 7 full Halo games (along with spinoffs) of story to delve into.
They would have had a better chance of not adding zombies in this game at all and focusing on cold wars zombies mode giving us new maps new perks and new gameplay there

I think the biggest thing is the missing mystery and meaningfulness, you can totally make this outbreak style mode work with mystery, wonder weapons and fleshed out mechanics, more objectives and everything like that, and I am a hardcore round based fan so take that for what it is

Maybe I'm just a boomer but I miss the days of BO1/BO2 zombies. Just a simple survive as long as you can but hey here's some easter eggs if you wanna do em :( BO3 was okay for me but it still felt like that was the beginning of the end for zombies.
For me I would say bo3 was an amazing zombies game. For me the community was at it’s peak, Easter eggs were fun, and everything about it was nice. But I do think that the quality of zombies significantly decreased over time.

Half an hour into the vod now, and honestly, this just looks like a sub-par arcade style game. It would be one thing if the 'hub' had a lot more going on, and there were a lot more, and a lot more varied 'missions', a fair array of side missions, more maps, etc. Instead, it feels like they were told they had to make a zombies game, and so threw together what they had. The maps are all MP maps, or already designed maps, as far as I'm aware (not like they had to create a new design for Shi No Numa), and they honestly look more like halloween reskins of those maps, than actual zombies-specific redesigns - as you point out, the lighting is terrible, and those candles look like the candles a bunch of games roll out just for halloween time - they don't even have any actual lighting effects. Each area of the map feels... basically the same, the hub feels dead, and the missions aren't particularly interesting. I... don't know what they're trying to achieve here. It's like they took all the worst parts of cold war, smashed them together with a bit of onslaught and maybe dead ops, took some inspiration from the fact 'roguelikes are popular', and then bashed together what they could from pre-existing assets. To me at least, this doesn't look like a game. At all. It looks like a side mode which was an afterthought in the design process, which is the last thing we all wanted. ETA: Happy Birthday Milo! And as I'm at the point of the video where you're discussing what on earth to do with the game, I just want to chip in and say that we're here for you, moreso than any game in particular. We love you for you, not for the specific franchise you're playing. Go for whatever has you excited, and we'll be there to watch it!
It’s genuinely heartbreaking. Most of ky best gaming memories exist from waw/bo3 zombies. Bo4 was cool but Cold War showed a decline and now this! Genuinely upsetting, it’s not how it used to be and I will miss it a lot. Good luck milo, I hope you find other games and avenues to monetise x
Not sure why people are surprised this came out bad, treyarch had to work not only on cold war (a game that was not even supposed to be theirs) but then this at the same time. Activision stretched them too thin and it really shows.

Milo? Besides piecing the story together do you actually enjoy playing this series anymore? This at least to me seems to be the most uninspired version of zombies I’ve seen to date and I feel like you’re sinking with the ship. Not in a bad way, you’re great and I’ve LOVED the halo play throughs! I think just watching you play through any game with an interesting story and fun gameplay would be great because you still get to flex those theory muscles in your brain as you play through. But mostly we get to see you enjoy a game that some of us already have amazing memories playing which make it even more entertaining to watch just for nostalgia purposes.
Milo, i think i speak for everyone when i say we will not abandon you for branching off into other games. Vanguard looks like absolute garbage and nobody will blame you for not playing it
This is actually the worst zombies I've seen in a while, maybe ever, whoever made zombies and then played it and thought hmmm this is fun and exciting, really should be fired and never given another job in the gaming industry again. Hearing that there's no EE at around 32:00 for the first time blew me away. Zombies is fun to play every once in a while, but the staying power of the series was in the lore. COD zombies was awesome b/c it was an epic, fantastical story with insane (and well-developed) characters.
While i enjoy Vanguard for what it is, i think people will finally open their eyes and see how good cold war really was. It is by far my favorite cod and it deserved better

Was sooooo close to pre-ordering Vanguard because of that Zombies Reveal but as the leaks kept coming out and becoming more prominent, I bought Far Cry 6 instead. Wasn't sure if I made the right call but after spending a day with FC6 and seeing 3 hours of what "content" there is for Vanguard Zombies.... dodged a bullet. Stay strong Milo, we'll support you with whatever you decide!

I'm sure the game will improve in 3 - 4 months time, but the gamemode should've had more to it than whatever this is. @@JulioHernandez-vi9to I made my decision from seeing multiple people livestream their first playthrough, giving their thoughts as they played. Milo didn't solely influence my decision - the credible leaks (that have now been confirmed) already put me off, since they also leaked Cold War's Outbreak mode. The reveal had me hooked until people started pointing out that the leaks were proving true and I made my decision based off of the evidence there at the time. Me personally, I enjoyed Outbreak a bit! It gave me that open-world Zombies feel that I've been wanting, plus the optional objectives. Play a game here and there, then jump to classic (or vice versa). Outbreak was also useful when leveling up the BP quickly, since it was easier to knock out a few world tiers and jump 4 - 6 tiers than to high round on 1 map for a couple hours. Not to mention the added effect to change locales while keeping the game going. A lot of people clearly don't see RBZ as "stale", judging by the reception that Vanguard is receiving. I'm not here to hate or argue though - different strokes for different folks! ❤
Definitely expand outward to new games. I'd love to see you do story videos when/if new maps come out. However, other than that, there really doesn't look to be much content for this game anytime soon. Good luck in your future endeavors!

Treyarch needs rest and time. After that, with an ideal development time, they could review, join what worked with the old Zombies and the new ones and thus bring a good Zombie with a good story and unique characters.
It's completely your choice Milo, but I think it would be good to share your thoughts in a dedicated video. I know you are worried about the hate, and rightfully so, but I'm pretty sure a majority of the community will be on your side about this one. There really is no defending it. It is missing like 80% of all core zombie concepts and people deserve to know how much of a letdown the game is. I feel really bad for zombies content creators right now, there is literally nothing to do videos on except for story related stuff. Can't do tutorials when there is no content or learning curve to anything in the game. All in all, I think it would make for a good video and there is no doubt there will be haters but I think a vast majority of the community is going to agree with you on this one.

Sad part is, having stepped back from cod halfway through MW19, I saw this coming when I watched the zombies reveal and they described these systems. I remained hopeful it would be exciting and interesting to watch you guys, but if there's nothing to keep you interested then there's little to keep viewers interested in watching. I love all the maps, I liked outbreak, and I love how fast paced and fun it is, especially with all the killstreaks and wonderweapons and equipment and such.
After watching the first playthough and stream, the difficulty ramp is slow from 1 to 10 and after 10 it gets way to quick. so quick that I wouldn't want to play longer than round 10 even if I could afford tier 4 perks and 2 triple packed weapons by then, which I can't.
The way they took the zombies was awful no Easter, no round based map, repetitive gameplay, no pap camo, gun smoke for some reason and we know they could have done a good round based map and Easter egg off the bat because of cold war

The upgrade system was probably the main reason I kept playing. It was so satisfying to upgrade everything and see them get stronger. RIP vangaurd

In the downtime where there's nothing, Halo videos. Infinite is taking place after 5, so there's literally 7 full Halo games (along with spinoffs) of story to delve into.
They put more effort into the cool irl sets for all their studio broadcasts about zombies then they did on this mode itself.
That is called marketing, they aparent that their game is amazing to atract the poeple but when the game releases i'ts trash in reality.
Remember when dlc maps came with dope intro cutscenes?
They would have had a better chance of not adding zombies in this game at all and focusing on cold wars zombies mode giving us new maps new perks and new gameplay there

I think the biggest thing is the missing mystery and meaningfulness, you can totally make this outbreak style mode work with mystery, wonder weapons and fleshed out mechanics, more objectives and everything like that, and I am a hardcore round based fan so take that for what it is

Maybe I'm just a boomer but I miss the days of BO1/BO2 zombies. Just a simple survive as long as you can but hey here's some easter eggs if you wanna do em :( BO3 was okay for me but it still felt like that was the beginning of the end for zombies.
For me I would say bo3 was an amazing zombies game. For me the community was at it’s peak, Easter eggs were fun, and everything about it was nice. But I do think that the quality of zombies significantly decreased over time.

Half an hour into the vod now, and honestly, this just looks like a sub-par arcade style game. It would be one thing if the 'hub' had a lot more going on, and there were a lot more, and a lot more varied 'missions', a fair array of side missions, more maps, etc.
Instead, it feels like they were told they had to make a zombies game, and so threw together what they had. The maps are all MP maps, or already designed maps, as far as I'm aware (not like they had to create a new design for Shi No Numa), and they honestly look more like halloween reskins of those maps, than actual zombies-specific redesigns - as you point out, the lighting is terrible, and those candles look like the candles a bunch of games roll out just for halloween time - they don't even have any actual lighting effects.
Each area of the map feels... basically the same, the hub feels dead, and the missions aren't particularly interesting. I... don't know what they're trying to achieve here. It's like they took all the worst parts of cold war, smashed them together with a bit of onslaught and maybe dead ops, took some inspiration from the fact 'roguelikes are popular', and then bashed together what they could from pre-existing assets. To me at least, this doesn't look like a game. At all. It looks like a side mode which was an afterthought in the design process, which is the last thing we all wanted.
ETA: Happy Birthday Milo! And as I'm at the point of the video where you're discussing what on earth to do with the game, I just want to chip in and say that we're here for you, moreso than any game in particular. We love you for you, not for the specific franchise you're playing. Go for whatever has you excited, and we'll be there to watch it!

Hearing that there's no EE at around 32:00 for the first time blew me away. Zombies is fun to play every once in a while, but the staying power of the series was in the lore. COD zombies was awesome b/c it was an epic, fantastical story with insane (and well-developed) characters.
While i enjoy Vanguard for what it is, i think people will finally open their eyes and see how good cold war really was. It is by far my favorite cod and it deserved better

Thank you for being honest Milo, I would suggest Battlefield and Halo bank of those games man. Then spend maybe a third of the time doing this! Also playing campaign would be a good idea, the devs always make sure campaign is clean cut for the release.
Main hub should progress rounds while objectives help you open the map. Objective difficulty is dependent on round you’re on

Was sooooo close to pre-ordering Vanguard because of that Zombies Reveal but as the leaks kept coming out and becoming more prominent, I bought Far Cry 6 instead. Wasn't sure if I made the right call but after spending a day with FC6 and seeing 3 hours of what "content" there is for Vanguard Zombies.... dodged a bullet.

@@sirisaac6225 It's a shame that Zombies has come to this. I understand wanting to make things more simple for newcomers but when take away ALL of the complexity, it becomes Hollow and boring fast. I'm sure the game will improve in 3 - 4 months time, but the gamemode should've had more to it than whatever this is. Treyarch really surprised me with Cold War Zombies and I think it's my favorite iteration, right behind BO3.

@@JulioHernandez-vi9to I made my decision from seeing multiple people livestream their first playthrough, giving their thoughts as they played. Milo didn't solely influence my decision - the credible leaks (that have now been confirmed) already put me off, since they also leaked Cold War's Outbreak mode. The reveal had me hooked until people started pointing out that the leaks were proving true and I made my decision based off of the evidence there at the time. Me personally, I enjoyed Outbreak a bit! It gave me that open-world Zombies feel that I've been wanting, plus the optional objectives. Play a game here and there, then jump to classic (or vice versa). Outbreak was also useful when leveling up the BP quickly, since it was easier to knock out a few world tiers and jump 4 - 6 tiers than to high round on 1 map for a couple hours. Not to mention the added effect to change locales while keeping the game going. A lot of people clearly don't see RBZ as "stale", judging by the reception that Vanguard is receiving. I'm not here to hate or argue though - different strokes for different folks! ❤
Definitely expand outward to new games.
I'd love to see you do story videos when/if new maps come out. However, other than that, there really doesn't look to be much content for this game anytime soon. Good luck in your future endeavors!

It's completely your choice Milo, but I think it would be good to share your thoughts in a dedicated video. I know you are worried about the hate, and rightfully so, but I'm pretty sure a majority of the community will be on your side about this one. There really is no defending it. It is missing like 80% of all core zombie concepts and people deserve to know how much of a letdown the game is. I feel really bad for zombies content creators right now, there is literally nothing to do videos on except for story related stuff. Can't do tutorials when there is no content or learning curve to anything in the game. All in all, I think it would make for a good video and there is no doubt there will be haters but I think a vast majority of the community is going to agree with you on this one.

Sad part is, having stepped back from cod halfway through MW19, I saw this coming when I watched the zombies reveal and they described these systems. I remained hopeful it would be exciting and interesting to watch you guys, but if there's nothing to keep you interested then there's little to keep viewers interested in watching. Viewership thoughts aside, the game itself has become hollow and over simplistic gimmicks.

Treyarch... the simple way is the best way. Don't make it too difficult, just keep on going with these incredible zombie maps designed FOR ZOMBIES
After watching the first playthough and stream, the difficulty ramp is slow from 1 to 10 and after 10 it gets way to quick. so quick that I wouldn't want to play longer than round 10 even if I could afford tier 4 perks and 2 triple packed weapons by then, which I can't.
