- NO Gold Mine can move the proper amount of pay dirt without the right equipment. Though we had several dump trucks in season 1 of "TH-cam GOLD" (2018), as I prepare for mining in 2019 .. I cant help but think we missed the mark simply because of not having the right equipment. We have learned a lot in our first year... and much like Todd Hoffman want to get as much equipment as possible. There is no way we can fail. Even MORE Expensive Equipment means way more Gold.. Right?! (If you do not get this joke, please watch Season 1 of "TH-cam GOLD": bit.ly/2SbUYDC ) Like any show, it starts as a concept.. and works its way into some amazing creativity.

I bought this truck online at Aliexpress. It was a limited run, and I do not know the manufacturer. I ordered it and had to wait about 6 weeks before shipping. I believe that this machine is mostly hand made.. and truly is a nice work of art. There are a few things I am learning about it still.. but have the basic grasp of it. Overall I am very happy with what I see. Unfortunately, there is SO MUCH SNOW outside right now.. that we have to admire and practice with this inside only for the day.
The radio that is being used with this model is a Flysky FSi6 10 channel radio. It is VERY AWESOME and is only $58.00! I have many of them.. I really like them. amzn.to/2B3w3s4

I think it's only right my 5 year old son gets to take the first hand at the controls. Its usually the most inexperienced operator that gets stuck on rock truck.. so he is the obvious choice for this mission. He does pilot it like a boss, I might add! I sure love being a Father. I think the gift of seeing a little human grow up is just too cool. My goal is to teach him to be better at everything than I am. At least give him the opportunity to learn and discover many different things in his life. What better way than to let him drive a BiG YELLOW DUMP TRUCK!
We plan on firing up the mine site somewhere in April, weather allowing.. but until then, we have plenty of practice to get in!

I think it's awesome that your entire household is into the same hobby, my spouse isn't an RC hobbyist but she doesn't discourage me from enjoying the hobby. My son loves video games and my daughter loves to read more than anything else, we each have our hobby and encourage eachother to enjoy all that we can. One of the perks growing up in the RC world Maurice is such a good kid Dad so gentle with the RC's. My two boys at age 10 Santa got them each an RC turck and in three days they trashed the bodies. Lucky for them I am a hobby woodworker now and made them costume bodies. LOL!
I work at a Volvo equipment dealer, if that Rc is anything like the real deal your going to like it. Volvo artic trucks are the best on the market.

I'd recommend some black grill mesh cut to size and glued under the bonnet to fill in the grill spaces. Realism wise, seeing the RC components through the grill was the only immersion breaker for me.
Add the grill mesh and squint a little and that's a real truck right there. A beautiful model. :)

Excellent scale representation. Not cheap but with what goes into the build it won't be. Loved watching Moe during the unboxing especially when he pushed the packing case off the work table. That expression said it all
I actually drove an earlier version in real life for a couple of months when I was much younger and though they are good on graded tracks and over soft soil, they are surprisingly easy to hang up over really rough stuff. Your mods are already being planned lol

Hind sight after watching this beast in action, it was a treat to see er brand new fresh out of the box. Just got my KJ Trucking sticker, nice addition to my toolbox! Whats cool is that your putting these models to work, running em like dogs. I picked up on your show late season one via random surfing and got interested in watching your mining vision unfold in the form of RC and being refined down to the final cup. Yeah, sometimes at the end of the show your pay is looking a little light , but you throw senseless money at this project and it is cool.

I thought my udr was expensive
I think the lack of locking diffs is probably more to protect the drive line than anything. Just watch how much movement the front tires have when turning on the bench sitting still, if you forget the diff was locked the steering would really suffer or given how heavy it is it could snap an axle shaft. The over all build quality looks good, and it is cool to see an RC the size of a kid.

Sweet man I drove the actual truck all season last year. They are the best because they have a full diff and transfer cases lock switch right on the floor.
This truck Mo could most likely ride in. At the NW Model Hobby Expo this weekend, we had a friends child riding around in one of these trucks. Video of that moment will be happening in a week or so.

Beautiful work of art the only thing that I didn't really like was when the vehicle was moving the lights gonna did the flashing motion and it didn't really seem Realistic by the headlights and tail Lights turn signals Backup lights does just small tweaks but other than that is a sweet work of art I love it!

Non locking diffs so it can turn. Notice the front wheels go opposite rotate when steering at rest..a locked front diff would make turning hard on it. Smart design.
