Those PKD books look especially sweet! Nice find. A fun author. My Unitrade Canadian cats are well used and I love them. BTW, Unitrade is up for sale. The owner wants to retire. Hopefully someone buys his collection and continues the great work. I worked with some illustrators that had done work for MTG . I don’t understand the cards or game but the artwork is incredible.
Bought my Unitrade catalog new last year. Paid around $60 Canadian from Canada Post. I primarily collect Newfoundland stamps and the book is probably the best source available for Newfoundland and the pre-Confederation colonies. Or at least the best easily accessible source.
"Don´t give your hopes up !" Great quote of your son and some pretty neat purchases. I like the "U.S. Stamps & Stories" book from 1975 which is also a nice catalogue for beginners. Greets from GER, U.
I have that same Unitrade catalogue. I upgrade mine about once every five years - I am a Canadian - so of course I’d have that catalogue! And…I’m just starting to get into US stamps…lol
thanks for sharing about the books. I found some 1940's Heinlein paperbacks in a small antique store and was amazed. I got a new unitrade a couple months ago from a friend in Canada in which I traded an older scott US specialized. lots of fun going through to find the differences not as defined in scott's of course.
Enjoyed the hunt and you and your son finding some excellent stuff. I also love Science Fiction books, but have not persuaded it much. I will remember the author Heinlein now. Could you suggest another author(s) of good Science Fiction, or will it depend on my taste? Thanks for sharing the hunt.
Definitely depends on taste... but there are some classics... Ursula Le Guin comes to mind, and Philip K. Dick like I mentioned. Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorites too
@@silkontheweb Thanks! A whole new extension to get acquainted to on my already extensive list. But I must get to it. Really like Science Fiction. Largely the only Science Fiction I read was by L. Ron Hubbard and I loved it, but I could not find second hand books of his in South Africa.
The gold symbol is rare, the silver symbol uncommon and the black symbol is common. That's the way to tell the rarity of the cards. Enjoy LOTR cards, I collect them too. There's nothing wrong with being a philatelist and a gamer.
Great to know, thanks... and I get a real kick out of this set, just bought a couple of starter decks hoping my boy will become interested. He's all Pokémon, though
For some reason I flashed on a line from the Simpsons. 'If the cops couldn't make us turn the music down, what makes you think we'd list to you.' -Homer. 😀
Being Canadian (east coast), I look forward to your Canadian collection episodes!

US Stamps and stories book looks interesting. I enjoy collecting your commemoratives. I'm in New Zealand. Love your humour
Nice video sharing 👌 super
Stay connected dear 😊
Being a U.S.based Canadian stamp collector, I, too, look forward to seeing your Canadian stamp episodes.
