    Nice bike. But I never likes 2 into 1 exhausts on a Harley. It just doesn't sound right. I like to hear each cylinder firing separately

    Tell me why does HD not Put oil coolers on their sportster's? It would run alot cooler I think and last longer. Anyway it would be my FIRST thing to buy after buying one that's for sure. An investment in my book.

    • @elijahcallender6423
      @elijahcallender6423 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      tref101 these bikes run differently when they’re fully warmed up that would also increase the amount of oil that will need to can also add weak points In the system that can possibly leak

    F' me!!! 99HP. I'm researching info to decide between Hammer system and SE. Also trying to pick between starting with an 883 to move to a 1250 or take a 1200 and do a stage 4. I've ridden Sportsters & Dyna for 20+ years. LOVE Sportsters!!!

      I've got a 2016 roadster 1200. Everything on that bike is absolutely completely factory stock except for the following four things: 1)Hammer performance 560 cams, 2)bronze oil pump gear, 3)factory XR 1200 2-1-2 exhaust with screamin eagle slip-ons, and 4)Dyno jet tuner running a great Dyno tune. All together, including the dyno session, we're looking at about $1,200 and I did all of the mechanical labor myself in 4 hours counting beer breaks. Got me 96hp @6800rpm and 87lbs @4900rpm. Again, untouched heads, untouched manifold and throttle body, stock airbox (with minor inlet widening) and paper filter.

    • @jonnymac8925
      @jonnymac8925 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no stage 4 for Sportster 1200s, only 883. The stage 4 is displacement upgrade but since there is no upgrade for the 1200s (unless you buy a Hammer 1275/1250, NHRS 1250, or S&S 1250). So with the Sportster it goes to stage 3 and guys will call their bikes a stage 4 if they have a 1250 or 1275.

    That's very interesting how you get almost 30hp extra - with dynojet and sport exhaust and sport filter, etc - you have 75hp ! What is a secret - because its for me impossible that huge power without extra mechanical modification. So what was change exactly?

    • @lewisrizk2529
      @lewisrizk2529 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      because the stage IV is a kit Harley sells. Its screamin eagle CNC ported heads, Cams, high compression pistons. notice the "screamin eagle" logo on the left side of the heads near the spark plug. VERY INTERESTING INDEED

    • @paulroberts3550
      @paulroberts3550 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To add to that....its big valve heads and a 58mm throttlebody, combined with the good tuner it also increases the rev range. 99-101 hp is normal for this kit. I have a stage 4 kit on my 17 roadster and it goes hard compared to a standard, and upsets stage 1 breakouts too. As for the sound, regardless of pipe brand a stage 4 will always be alot louder then same pipes on a stage 1 engine.

    What is your inseam?

    • @Traumatix685
      @Traumatix685 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've actually sat on this bike as height was a concern for me as well since it sits taller vs the other sportsters. I'm 5'6 and my inseam is 30 (actually more like 28, pantswise, but including my feet I'd say 30-31) and I was able to stand on the balls of my feet in flip flops. Otherwise with boots, you should have a better standing with your feet. Although the weight of the bike still concerns me, I was able to control the bike when I was shifting it from side to side, while not moving of course. Hope this helps!

    Ahhhh, guys. Cool bike, and I understand anybody who wants more hp from the bike he has. But 100hp from 1200cc? Lots for a Harley, but in the greater scheme of things????? If you want a fast bike, race use and all that? Get something else....

    • @checker3694
      @checker3694 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but with Harleys it's just as much about the torque as well as HP, which you can't get low down the rev range like Harleys can. Sports bikes are all top end torque, and your going mental speeds so can't take it in as much.

      You ever think that maybe, JUST maybe people buy what they like? I dont know many people that like the look of a Bonneville and believe it or not, they dont buy them. Too many people care only about being faster than the guy next to you. That's not at all what it means to ride. You do it because you love it, not because you want to have a bigger dick
