This video is precious. I'm not a parent, but I caught myself smiling every time you came to the realization that your daughter is THE goal-setter. She is THE reason for all of your future choices and decisions, and that is beautiful. This video also shows that your journaling exercise actually works since we saw it happen in real-time. 👍

2 hours and a whole giant Notion journal entry later and I'm FINALLY done with this video. I love the addition of why do you deserve it and your example of "her father deserves it", because it made me also look outside of myself at the person I am from someone else's eyes. That can often be the hardest part to write, so here's mine as an example for anyone else struggling to look outside themselves here:
Because I work with more fire than nearly every person I know, and other people I know are not be as dedicated as I am to seeing things through..I deserve to show that same amount of fire and dedication to my own ambitions and goals, not just furthering the ambitions of those around me.

as someone who also can fill up an entire page of racing thoughts and self sabotage, i’m trying really hard to practice the “talk to yourself like you’re a friend or your younger self”. it’s uncomfortable to say good things about myself which is not how it should be and i hope the “why you deserve it” page doesn’t just stay blank

Less than two months ago I gave up on a job offer I was looking for three years in the worst shameful way (not self sabotage, it was kinda like...blaiming a perfectly fine fact I would have accepted to face, so childish and it hurts as hell now). It's my actual biggest life's regret and I am not living this good with its burden. I don't know how to deal with this freak of nature now, but I felt so much pain after realizing I did the wrong choice that it changed completely the way I look at things. For real like never before. That freaking pain (still here) is making me drown in the worst way I have ever experienced, but this time it will be different. Loved this video man. I wish you the best for you and your entire family.

You know that little tingle you get when someone says something that resonates with you? Like you're about to cry but it's not that intense? That's how I felt when you had your epiphany about your art time helping your daughter and not opposing it.
That's how I've felt about my music since having kids. "I can't focus on music as it will take time away from work and hurt our income". Thank you. I'm going to give myself more time for music as it will help my kids as I'll be happier :)

You made a vew videos this year, but what you make is super enjoyable and gold. Do not let time or preasure from youtube say otherwise. Its been crazy since 2016 on how much content creators "need" to make resulting in a bunh of trash content. Enjoy yout life and your daughter. Remember you are human en not a robot. Setting low expectations while making goals is the best thing I ever did. I am a very anxious person plus you go trough highs and lows, trough seasons in your life. Defenetly try to find your flow when you are creative. Creating 24/7 does not work for every artist. I tent to create a vew things during my summer vacation when I get to focus on myself have low stress and have some time to explore(about 4 weeks). The rest of the year I do not feel bad for not creating. Cheers and stay cool.

I have ADHD as well and I watch everything you put out and check out your social media frequently to see any new art. Maybe something you'd like to know about how your art benefits your daughters life:
I grew up as a child of a sculpturer and a painter. My best childhood memories are focused about me joining my parents in their creative space, while they are working. And about them showing me the things that inspire them. Just so i could engage in creative activities in their company. Later i would show them what i had made, whilst they had made their stuff aswell. Creativly active parents are honestly such a huge bonus in a good childhood.

Thank you SO MUCH for showing people how it is possible to be introspective and see connections in our behaviours and thought patterns. I have always been doing this a lot myself through out my entire life - and I LOVE seeing videos like this showing/encouraging others to dig deep and take a look at themselves. It really makes me feel positive about the world, and I think it is so inspirational to see especially as men typically are taught to never do this sort of introspective looking. So thank you for allowing us viewers into this process -- and thank you for a great Reset Year pdf sheet. SUPER helpful resource (even with the spelling mistakes and all, which are endearing - I imagine you made it all in a frantic state of excitement haha!).
Also on the idea of finally reaching a state of success and then being a bit stuck, it might also just have been that the illussion of success often equals, ah now things will run on their own. I find that success doesn't really exist to me. When things are good (which might be considered succeeding), you're just constantly working and holding yourself up to the standards you want. Perhaps, success = constantly working? (whether it be journaling, remembering to do yoga, taking care of the kids, having a chill day organising, do all the laundry). And it comes and goes in waves of how easy / hard that is to do. So perhaps that is to be successful? Just keeping on top of things that you know makes you feel good.

I quit my job and went back to school, made sure i was the parent she deserved. I think now i still have a fair amount those goals and ideals there, but I am finding it important to differentiate mom choices/goals and the core ones which also deserves appreciation and recognition. I have done your new year review and goals method for the past three years and I absolutely love it, it’s been the most encouraging tool to see how far I’ve come and what I want to achieve going forward, even if I don’t manage to achieve it all it’s even interesting to see how my life and priorities change each year. What is important to me. This half year is perfect to remind me to actually go check in with those goals, and I will use this to assist keeping me on track. Thanks so much Cam! X

This has nothing to do with the video but I just finished reading your book "Your Head is a Houseboat" and I felt so held and so seen, I was on the verge of tears (happy tears). It is amazing how you managed to approach the reader with so much love and compassion - I am really out of words to describe the feeling that the book gave me; all I can say is that it feels like being hugged and held mentally. You must have a giant heart full of love, Struthless, and I am so thankful for you sharing that love with everyone in the world through your art and the content you create.

The complexity and production-editing-cost-time of your videos has nothing to do with their actual value. As long as you’re speaking from this place of humility and honesty that you have within yourself, you are making a massive impact on us viewers and that transcends success defined by numbers

I was diagnosed with ADHD this past year at 32. You mentioned it quickly in this vid and it made me wonder if you also have it? It'd be really inspiring to see how much you've accomplished framed inside the difficulties of ADHD. If it was just a joke, no worries, I was just curious. (And maybe you already mentioned it but I forgot... 😅)
I'm definitely going to try this journal exercise. The first half of the year was VERY mixed for me, between the euphoria of finding adhd meds and the disappointment that actually I'm not cured by them and still need to put in effort to be better.
Thanks as always for being an inspiration and a cool dude.

this made me laugh several times. I really related to your art and life togetherness epiphany! I've had chronic fatigue syndrone for three years and have been making art a very separate thing for when "im up for it". lately I've realized how it is actually part of the healing journey... little bits here and there gives me that dopamine hit that I so desperately need when I have to sit in my house all day which means I don't randomly go and do something too extreme that makes me really tired. it keeps me balanced, a balanced life is learning to harmonize all those different messy threads rather than keeping all the segmented parts perfect

Hey man, I know you probably get hundreds of messages like this but regardless of that I want to thank you a lot, and I want you to know that you have a very real impact on people's life. Just 1 year ago I was still a miserable depressed mess, but during this year I've started my weightloss journey, so far down 15 kg, succesfully passed a C1 English Exam, went back and re-did my school leaving math exam, upping it from 51 to 91% and made it back to my first choice of university to study Finance. Thank you man, could not have done all this without your guidance.❤

Definitely going to make this excercise. Could you please make a New Year's version? That way we can enter the year with a goal and then make a revision in july. That'd be awesome 😊
And thank you very much for everything, I don't have words for how much I love your work and you as a person willing to help others ❤

man, marathon movie is goat and it's something I'll remember you for. your friends and family made it possible and special and you all are the only people in the world who could've made it this particular way. now I'm rooting for your people and i value and cherish my people even more. if I'd be lonelier I'd lowkey model my community after yours lol.
to me this was a year of struthless renessaince and i appreciate you not following content plan, not heavy raining with bland stuff with no life lived to back it.
your journey from cocaine jokes to inspiring circa million people was one of the coolest real person story arcs I've witnessed and the one i relate the most. I see it as hurt and divergent person shifting from self-destruction to creation and thriving.
productivity above the level of sufficiency is mostly explotative capitalist propaganda bs.
i never watched you for "productivity", i just love seeing who you're becoming.
also. your channel is your art, so it's #1, not #3:
that Danny DeVito poetry of togetherness video initially hooked me.
making things we love with people we love for people we love is all it's ever been about, while us being Danny DeVito
