I love when the camera goes to the contestants as their faces drain of smugness as they realise they get nothing. Best part of the show for me, never understood people not supporting the chasers.
Don't blame him. I saw an old episode a couple of months ago, I think the contestant was called Graham and he was absolutely vile to Mark. He used phrases like, "Tell him where to stick it", "Everybody knows that!" when he got a question wrong, "Back you go". His attitude towards him was appalling but he did make it to the final chase and thankfully Mark caught the arrogant fool who still had the audacity to make excuses why he didn't win!
Thank you Christopher. Yes, that's him. He was very sullen in the final chase but his behaviour and attitude towards the beast was vile before then too.
Mark is my favorite chaser. His brain is unbelievably fast. I liked when he smiled while saying "four", as it's one of the most common answers in the show. When he has a split second and can't hear the question he often shouts "Four!"
ITV really needs to get Mark his own quiz show! If any Chaser could host their own quiz show on ITV (mainly because The Chase airs on that network), it would have to be Mark because he really has the the right stuff for something like that! And if it does well in Britain, they could really bring a version of the show here to America (preferably on NBC or Fox) and have Mark host our version as well! That would be very cool if that happened!
1.5 + 2.5? Seriously? Mark is a complete Maths whizz and I have seen him work out harder Maths sums than that in his head within milliseconds out loud! At least give him harder Maths questions!
There are two sets of questions in the final chase, A and B.The team gets to pick their set and the chaser gets the other. It's a matter of luck, none of the contestants might be math whizzes :)
LKC9215 Ah yeah, I forgot about that. I just remember him working out a really complicated division maths problem out loud within about 3 seconds once and just being sat there like "What the...? And I thought MY sister was great at maths!"
You wouldn't believe how bad people are at maths. I've seen "what's a half of a third?" get PASSED by the contestants. Even the chasers other than Mark and Paul often stumble.
Mark is such a beast. Love his brilliance. But one thing I just dislike about him is he doesnt show appreciation to his opponent's good game. Other chasers, they would be intimidating and would throw insults before and during the game. But when everything is done, they will show admiration to opponent's great game. But not with Beast. He will maintain that intimidating and irritable aura till the end.
Is it just me who wants to see how many the team of chasers could feasibly get in the two minutes lol. Like if they did it like the teams do. Would be incredible
Wrong. Mark answered 18 questions correctly in 76 seconds, which is a pace of one question every 4.11 seconds. So at that pace, it would have taken him 2 minutes and 4 seconds to catch a target of 30.
+EcdsKO1323O Yes for a Maths teacher too. At least could have asked what the binary for 73 is or 7 or how many days are in 10 years or 11 years or something more advanced. Easy question.
+Andrew Snell How many days in 10 years wouldn't have a definitive answer as it would depend on how many leap years are in that time period, because it could be 2 or 3.
There was once a question for the cash builder - Ninjas throw ninja what? They answered warriors. The pressure is very hard when you know the tables can turn instantly.
Flying Potatoes Really? The contestant got 18 answers correct. In most cases, this would definitely mean a win. But because of bad luck, the chaser caught up, even though, in most cases, he would not have.
Flying Potatoes It is luck. Everytime there's a random factor playing into the game, there is luck involved. Here, the random factor is whether the chaser will have a good round or not. Theoretically, you could win with only 5 correct answers, and lose with 25.
Flying Potatoes There are so many factors deciding whether or not you win in this game. Factors that you CAN NOT CONTROL. As I said earlier, you CAN'T predict how many points the chaser is going to get. It's like a dice roll, ranging anywhere from 0 to pretty much 30. So, in general, no matter how many points you get, even if you get 18 like this guy did, you can still get unlucky and lose because the "dice roll" went over 18. But the chaser might as well have gotten 15 points, in which case the contestant would have won. If you honestly say to me that this is not randomness (for a lack of better word) to a degree, then please tell me why.
Flying Potatoes First off, heard of paragraphs? It makes your text a lot easier to follow, instead of it being a wall of text. Just a tip. "First off, when you roll two dice the highest combination you can get is 12 or if you multiply it then it's 36" I don't know what you mean here. My point about the dice roll was simply that you get a random integer from 0 to 30. It wasn't meant to be literal. I want to ask you one question. If you don't agree with me here, then I can see why we have different views on the subject: Do you agree that the chasers final points are, to a degree, random? That sometimes, the chasers scores very low, while sometimes, they score very high? If you agree with me there, I can't see how you can dismiss my point in the game being a bit randomised. Sometimes, you can win with a shit amount of points, and vice versa. I know the chasers are supposed to be smart, but that has absolutely nothing to do with our discussion, man. The point is that their score is unpredictable, and since it's unpredictable, it's random - hence my point about luck. And get the hell down from your high horse. I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm pretty sure we can both agree that I can speak (or at least write) English correctly.
I love when the camera goes to the contestants as their faces drain of smugness as they realise they get nothing. Best part of the show for me, never understood people not supporting the chasers.
I secretly always go for the chaser. Especially if it's Mark or Anne. I love them both. The people I watch it with all go for the contestants haha
I love Mark and Anne too. For some reason, they seem to get the rudest contestants, especially in earlier episodes.
Don't blame him. I saw an old episode a couple of months ago, I think the contestant was called Graham and he was absolutely vile to Mark. I’m. Bitch so i always want the Chaser to win (lol I almost got Chaser autocorrected to Harder!! Lol I checked before posting)
If Mark got the rest of his questions correct all the way through... he actually could of caught 30!
Mark is my favorite chaser. His brain is unbelievably fast. I liked when he smiled while saying "four", as it's one of the most common answers in the show. When he has a split second and can't hear the question he often shouts "Four!"
Mark reminds me of Russell from Pixar's Up.
+SJMJ91 never thought of that but thinking about it yes he does look quite like him.
Even he's promoted the comment on his social media pages.
SJMJ91 hen party to a high pressure to a few years back in September to the top floor
I love watching ones with Mark in them!!!
Same i love seeing the chasers win

+Andrew Hain Labbett is the only chaser in the U.S version of the Chase.
Yes, but the US version is on a channel that very few people get, so only like 3 people see it.
1.5 + 2.5? Seriously? Mark is a complete Maths whizz and I have seen him work out harder Maths sums than that in his head within milliseconds out loud! At least give him harder Maths questions!
He studied mathematics at Oxford, so that's why he's a math wiz
There are two sets of questions in the final chase, A and B.The team gets to pick their set and the chaser gets the other. It's a matter of luck, none of the contestants might be math whizzes :)
Well they are under pressure..
LKC9215 Ah yeah, I forgot about that. I just remember him working out a really complicated division maths problem out loud within about 3 seconds once and just being sat there like "What the...? And I thought MY sister was great at maths!"
The Chase - The Best Chases that last line got me laughing out loud.
yeah come on The BEAST mark💟
come on the beast!!
Awesome stuff 😁
Mark has to be the best chaser, do not get me wrong the others are good but mark is the most formidable.
Statistically, Anne has a better win-loss record, but Mark is usually the most impressive in the way he wins, and yeah he's formidable!
LKC9215 Paul is also the only one to go through an entire show without getting a question wrong
Yes, I can also remember Mark nearly getting a clean game, but he slipped up one question in the final chase (About the Smurfs) ha ha.
I think I heard that Jenny has done that. Idk how recent it was, I'm guessing it was fairly recent
Yep Jenny and Paul have done that
Those really weren't the most difficult questions for the Chaser.
It's more about the speed of the answers and you either know it or you don't
Well played beasty boy!
What did Mark say after "Excuse me" and before Bradley said "That's unbelievable"?
Andrew Hain "i think i've earned that!"
The Beast is a formidable player.
Sometimes, I just cannot believe this is real! O.O
Lol, Will kinda looks like Ian Hecox, except with glasses
I knew 1.5 + 2.5 = 4 so there
This was the episode where my favourite Chaser Mark Labbett proved himself to be no mere mortal, but a QUIZ MACHINE!!!
1.5 + 2.5? Jesus Christ. Might as well have been 1 + 1.
You wouldn't believe how bad people are at maths. I've seen "what's a half of a third?" get PASSED by the contestants. Even the chasers other than Mark and Paul often stumble.
The Beast is an ANIMAL !!
Mark is such a beast. Love his brilliance.

He is the beast
Honestly he does, more so than I'd expect for his "bad guy" persona
What's 1 1/2 + 2 1/2 ?
Doesn't say much for general numeracy skills if they feel that's even worthy of being a question.
Is it just me who wants to see how many the team of chasers could feasibly get in the two minutes lol. Like if they did it like the teams do. Would be incredible
Probably like 30 the chasers are all extremely intelligent
Nah, the best is still the 26 in a row he performed back in Series 2 (2010), but of course, the questions were easier back then!
In Marks rate, if he continued to get questions correct at his speed he could of caught 30
Im Dead On the Inside 32.73 questions
I actually thought the questions get easier with time?
This target was just too low... imagine how far he could've gone here!
The best chaser
The chasers get some of the easiest questions
There are two sets of questions in the final chase, A and B.The team gets to pick their set and the chaser gets the other. It's a matter of luck
LKC9215 but how do you know really ITV picks the sets
Even a score of 30 wouldn’t have been enough at that speed
Wrong. Mark answered 18 questions correctly in 76 seconds, which is a pace of one question every 4.11 seconds. So at that pace, it would have taken him 2 minutes and 4 seconds to catch a target of 30.

The contestants choose which set of questions they get, so they could have got that question if they chose the other set.
There was once a question for the cash builder - Ninjas throw ninja what? They answered warriors. The pressure is very hard when you know the tables can turn instantly.
@@bengilliam7877 I remember that question
Dark Destroyer thought for like a dozen seconds before answering lol
Too rare, chaser wins. They always show them getting beat. Ta for sharing
Got recommended
needed 29 steps
This proves that this show relies very much on luck. It's still good entertainment, though!
