Also have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism! Got diagnosed about 12 years ago. It's been quite a journey and amazing how many symptoms there are and how quickly things can change. Its especially difficult to find a doctor or endo who will look at you in a comprehensive way as far as labs. Thankfully I finally found one, so def agreed doctors need to test all aspects not just tsh. I have found for me I need to eat AIP as well. Good luck with your journey!
Some doctors are really just there for the paycheck. Finding a doctor who showed empathy and attention to details was a game changer. Advocate Advocate Advocate. I am on the "no thyroid" team as well due to a cancerous nodule. Wishing you excellent levels.
I was diagnosed with that too back in 2017. My doctor wanted to put me on medication too but j refused it. I reversed it by doing alternative day fasting and when I ate, I feasted on fatty meats and organ meats. Pretty much carnivore diet till this day. I reversed it in 6 months or less. Praying for you brother 🙏🏿 💪
Omg I have just been diagnosed with Hoshimoto's in April of this year and am currently recovering from having my thyroid removed due to a large nodule! I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in this and wish you all the luck with your health journey!
You are not alone! I was diagnosed this past year and had the left side removed due to a nodule, which had cancer. Wishing you a very healthy journey going forward!
@@nathanoneil5748 initially I went to my GP and they did a full panel blood test of my thyroid and indicated that my thyroid levels were fine however my thyroid antibodies were high. That was when I was diagnosed with Hoshimotos and referred to an endocrinologist, where they found the enlarged nodule on the left side and a discolored nodule on the right via sonogram... couple biopsies later had a result of no cancer however due to the left nodule being so large it was effecting my breathing, swallowing and causing my throat to be sore and voice to be horse. I was never officially diagnosed with any Hypothyroidism or Hyperthyroidism due to my levels being "normal" but if I would have left it unchecked eventually the Hoshimoto's would have ruined my thyroid enough that my levels would have been effected.
Thank you so much for sharing. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and the PA did not explain anything to me. Her response to my questions was "there's nothing you can do about it". Fast forward 2 years, I found a naturopath doctor who advise I go gluten and dairy free. Autoimmune disease sounds so scary but once Hashimoto was broken down by my new dr, there seemed to so much more hope to natural treatment. I love 1st Phorm and take their opti greens and reds as well!

I am 21 years old and was diagnosed with secondary hypothyrodism 3 months ago which is a problem coming from the pituitary gland in the brain and have been on T4 and T3 medication since then. I definetly feel better but my doctor is taking it very slow in regards to increasing the dose of medication etc so my lab results are still very low unfortunenatly and i am also very desperate to feel better. Glad to hear you speak about your experience with Hashimotos and i hope the best for you in your journey going forward!

Nice video bro! I have hypothyroidism also and experience a lot of the things you mentioned in this video. I recently stopped taking Levothyroxine too because it really did not seem to help me in any way. It’s crazy how doctors will just push medication onto someone instead of actually finding the root of the problem.
I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism almost a week ago and I now take levothyroxine. I was always tired but could never sleep. I am always cold and noticed a puffiness in my face before I got my labs back to confirm it. I don't know what to expect with my medication but I'm glad you made a video about it!! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your story, I have Hyperthyroidism. I was diagnosed with graves disease in 2019 and went through tons of bloodwork and medications to get my thyroid levels back on track, sadly nothing worked so we went to a surgeon and he recommended a complete thyroidectomy in 2020 since then i feel better than ever my heart rate is back to normal and i don't feel as tired as i felt with my thyroid!

Nick, please share this more. Is this why you went through all the different diets the last couple of years? I loved watching the different transitions (fruits, intermittent fasting, etc). It has been super cool seeing you find what makes you feel best.
Working as a nurse, I have seen that medications are not always the answer. It's great that you took control of your health and are figuring out what works best for you!
wow man, lucky you! I never tried to stop taking medication but that is something that's been on my mind. I don't want to be on thyroid medication anymore even tho my symptoms are not as bad as some people. Thank you so much Nick. I actually had my thyroid removed a couple years ago due to cancer. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's afterwards due to higher antibodies in the area- which makes things confusing to tell if the cancer is gone or not. I take thyroid hormones everyday because I obviously don't have my own anymore. Thank you for going into detail about the levels. I didn't even know that! The ups and downs are constant. My theory is that with a working (existing) thyroid - it fluctuates as your body requires hormones. With medicines- there's no fluctuation, hence the ups and downs. Its the natural ebb and flow of our hormones happening without regulation. As a vegan- its so difficult to have no thyroid. Something you didn't mention is how soy can effect the levels. Depression and anxiety can be directly from low thyroid levels as well as memory issues, weight gain, and fatigue like you mentioned. Having someone like you (healthy and intelligent) talking on their platform about the effects of this condition is amazing. Seriously, thank you so much for spreading awareness on your platform. It's inspiring to someone like me who struggles with weight gain, lack of motivation, and depression to see you - someone I consider to be very strong and motivated. This also shows that nobody has it all together, a front that many influencers try to maintain. It's so important to advocate for yourself to your doctor. From my experience- I had to find a doctor who communicated a LOT and research on my own, along with listening to my body for cues. Thanks so much for sharing your personal experience! It was a very good overview of your journey and you hit every aspect that effects the life of a person with Hashimoto's. I'd like to get off Synthroid. Though it helped me to a certain degree, the first year, I feel like it has done all it can and I'm still struggling week to week, this entire second year. I've just started the AIP diet and I'm building up my supplements. Thanks for all your recommendations! Cheers to your health and happiness! ✌️🍀❤️

Thank you...it's really sad, how doctors take this diagnose for granted..im sure, there are things they could do, to help more.. i have no comments, how we have to help ourselfs, researching and testing on ourselfs. They only run blood tests, and even those unsuficient.. good luck in finding the best diet to all😇🥰
I was 14 in 2015 got diagnosed had a swollen lymphnode had an ultra sound for that, but the doc also checked my thyroid and found that I had this Ive been on synthroid ever since but I don't take it religiously, I can't really describe how I feel but ups and downs I'm 20 now, starting to really research this more, ive played sports since I was 4, played at a d1 highschool level for fball all 4 years and track hypertrophy work outs and really noticed things going on, and how I felt, also now that ive been out of sports feeling how i feel and seeing differences is crazy thank you

Thank you so much for sharing this bro. My thyroid antibodies came back high in a recent test and I’ve been trying to figure out methods to help get them down… I also struggle with sleep and digestion, so I’m definitely going to try all the tips you mentioned.
Usually mold exposure is what triggers it and once you get the mold out of you body and ensure you are no longer being exposed then you will heal fully from it. If you need help let me know. I had it too, (got it from mold exposure) mostly healed now
Hey Nick! I have Hashimots too! Such a nasty disease. I am convinced it is brought on by trauma! I can only manage it with T3- Synthroid makes my bones ache, so weird! Hope you are doing well!
Ahaha I’ve never seen a body as perfect as yours. You’re a super hero man, I can’t believe you have something pulling you back. Most ppl have never and will never do 1/100 of what you do sport wise. You’re impressive
Great video and thanks for the share. If I could make one suggestion, Look at changing the Ashwagandha as it's contradicted in "Hyper-thyroid" (best for Hypo) as it raises levels. Consider other adaptogens such rhodiola rosacea or best for Hoshimoto's -Cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis).
Ill be back to leave a proper comment. I agree with everything you have said sir. Also there are some other things that have helped me bring my tpos now and by down i mean leas than 9.
I have hashimotos hypothyroidism and its really done a number on me. I had gotten covid last year and now inflammation is high in my body. I got put on Hydroxychloroquine and had to stop due to eye itching and personality changes. Its such a struggle. I constantly have joint pain. Weakness and just helpess
I love that you read the comments and provide content that individuals are interested in.. or answer questions.. I love your diverse content and I am here for it all not just food !!! keep it up
All those processed carbs add to the inflammation! Eat clean...fresh veggies, berries, grass fed meats. You'll be surprised how good you feel! Coconut oil is outstanding for the thyroid.
so sorry to hear about your problem brov. i suffer with all the symptoms tbh but do have bad circulation in my feet why there cold a lot! might even speak to a doctor be i have sleep problems, cold feet, cold hands and have to fast often or put on loads of weight! thanks for the heads up! good to hear your learning to beat it with out meds! love potatoes myself lol.. live off em! but feeling tired and no energy is regular thing! same as you said! lots of caffeine to keep me focused! nescafe americano instant coffee i drink and after few cups, full of energy! should try it! know you don’t have caffeine but helps me big time! is expensive coffee but helps me with no energy! wish you all the best and do what you gotta do to stay fit brov. cuff love and thanks for taking the time to explain! i might have it and gonna get checked;-)
@@NickDompierre thanks brov! Did make sense when you was explaining your symptoms. Almost every one I got! Might just be me, but definitely gonna speak to my doctor! Thanks again and hope you managed to keep it under control 💗
This is so interesting. But I’m also surprised at how many doctors who are so-called experts misdiagnose or mistreat things. I’m on testosterone replacement and honestly I get better advice from fitness friends than I do from my doctor who’s an endocrinologist. Definitely challenge your doctors. My partner is in residency now and it’s baffling at how many university hospitals are run by interns.
Awesome video. I got diagnosed with Graves’ disease back in 2014 was on meds for 2-3 years getting the levels back up. Finally not on meds anymore and feel a lot better. Do you think eliminating gluten and dairy will help me as well? Thanks
Nick, by the way, have you tried Ancestral Supplements? I’m not a doctor like you said but there’s one that has grass fed beef thyroid and liver and I found it to help me greatly (I also don’t take meds).
Have you considered taking TRT for Hashimoto’s to improve hormone balance and to feel better, stronger, better mood, more energy and increased gym performance?
I have the same issue I've been on the same medication for over 3 years now thanks for this video it is helpful for people that do not understand I guess my only question is would you recommend the adrenal gland restore I as a good product to take that's probably the only thing I don't take
I take levothyroxine pills :/ I was diagnosed 3 years ago but I’m sure it started a year before that because I gained soo much weight that it’s become difficult to lose
Iodine is basically thyroid food. It runs the thyroid. That's why if you have thyroid cancer, you take radioactive iodine to kill the remaining tissue. I think if you over do it- it can cause the opposite effects.
Hi Nick, do you know how long it took your body, until your own t3/t4 production was back to a normal level? I've also been on that medication for a long time and i stopped taking it yesterday. So im curious how long my body is probably going to take to produce the hormones by itself again.
Hi Nick, I've had hashi's for about a decade now. I'm working on getting off meds, they turn me hyper. Can I ask what your labs look like these days having been off meds? Thx 💙
@@NickDompierre thanks, I think the medication is what is giving me these side effects, tired of dealing with this and the headaches. Only been on it for 3 months since diagnosed. How do you feel on a day to day basis without medication and just doing supplements, healthy exercise etc..
@@oscararredondo9672 I feel fairly decent. Someday are great and some days are so/so. More good days than bad tho. We are moving in the right direction.
Even though I’m not surprised, it gets me every time how people follow doctors blindly when most of them have no idea what they’re doing. Can’t blame them, you expect your doctor to know what they talk about, but their studies are so outdated.
This supplement called Night T helps a lot. It has melatonin, magnesium, zinc, and much more to help with sleep. 1stphorm.com/products/night-t?a_aid=NickDompierre let me know if you have any questions
so how is your metabolic rate fairly high (even without the crossfit i remember ur normal days of eating before crossfit would still be around 3,000 cals) even though you have hypothyroidism? and also with the cheat days how does that affect you differently versus a normal person?
also wow man didn’t know all this about you, and how much it impacts the day to day, ur a beast, only have much more respect for u (the amount u exercise and effort in general considering the symptoms that may make that harder)
Yeah my whole life I’ve been an active athlete. Also when I wasn’t skateboarding, I’d get in 10k steps daily. I’ve learned a lot about thyroid optimization.

You are so amazing Nick you go above and beyond to make other people feel comfortable about illness thanks for sharing and know that we are thinking of you take care love Lisa n Laura xxxx 😁💪👌😘
Thank you...it's really sad, how doctors take this diagnose for granted..im sure, there are things they could do, to help more.. i have no comments, how we have to help ourselfs, researching and testing on ourselfs. They only run blood tests, and even those unsuficient.. good luck in finding the best diet to all😇🥰
I was 14 in 2015 got diagnosed had a swollen lymphnode had an ultra sound for that, but the doc also checked my thyroid and found that I had this Ive been on synthroid ever since but I don't take it religiously, I can't really describe how I feel but ups and downs I'm 20 now, starting to really research this more, ive played sports since I was 4, played at a d1 highschool level for fball all 4 years and track hypertrophy work outs and really noticed things going on, and how I felt, also now that ive been out of sports feeling how i feel and seeing differences is crazy thank you
Thank you so much for sharing your story!

Thank you so much for sharing this bro. My thyroid antibodies came back high in a recent test and I’ve been trying to figure out methods to help get them down… I also struggle with sleep and digestion, so I’m definitely going to try all the tips you mentioned.

Thank you so much for sharing🙏🙏🙏 Very helpful
Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you Stan! 🙌🏼
Did you notice improvement after quitting nightshades? Also I don't know if you know this but ashwagandha is also a nightshade.
You should make an exotic fruit cheat day. Some lychee, mangoes, plums, nectarines, starfruit, dragon fruit. It would be cool.
I also suffer from Hypothyroidism too, and at the beginning was horrible but im under medical control.
so sorry to hear about your problem brov. i suffer with all the symptoms tbh but do have bad circulation in my feet why there cold a lot! might even speak to a doctor be i have sleep problems, cold feet, cold hands and have to fast often or put on loads of weight! thanks for the heads up! good to hear your learning to beat it with out meds! love potatoes myself lol.. live off em! but feeling tired and no energy is regular thing! same as you said! lots of caffeine to keep me focused! nescafe americano instant coffee i drink and after few cups, full of energy! should try it! know you don’t have caffeine but helps me big time! is expensive coffee but helps me with no energy! wish you all the best and do what you gotta do to stay fit brov. cuff love and thanks for taking the time to explain! i might have it and gonna get checked;-)
Thank you! I’m wishing the best very best for you!
@@NickDompierre thanks brov! Did make sense when you was explaining your symptoms. Almost every one I got! Might just be me, but definitely gonna speak to my doctor! Thanks again and hope you managed to keep it under control 💗
How do you get energized to work out and be consistent in general? What supplements have you found have helped you the most?
This is so interesting. But I’m also surprised at how many doctors who are so-called experts misdiagnose or mistreat things. I’m on testosterone replacement and honestly I get better advice from fitness friends than I do from my doctor who’s an endocrinologist. Definitely challenge your doctors. My partner is in residency now and it’s baffling at how many university hospitals are run by interns.
Thanks for video.
Hi! I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism only a few months ago (not hashimoto's) I'm also on the same medication,
I’m wishing you the very best!
You are amazing
This is so great
Thanks!
Your CAPTAIN has that too! Its gonna be ALRIGHT honey love you more ❤
Awesome video. I got diagnosed with Graves’ disease back in 2014 was on meds for 2-3 years getting the levels back up. Finally not on meds anymore and feel a lot better. Do you think eliminating gluten and dairy will help me as well? Thanks
I have Crohn's disease and hypothyroidism I feel so stuck diet-wise
HEY LUCKY, WE HAVE THYROID PROBLEMS IN OUR FAMILY, I HAVE HASHIMOTO'S AN ALSO TAKE LEVOTHYROXINE LOVE +MISS YOU 💜❤💞
Why do some doctors just measure TSH and T4? What’s the problem with testing all thyroid hormones?
Nick, by the way, have you tried Ancestral Supplements? I’m not a doctor like you said but there’s one that has grass fed beef thyroid and liver and I found it to help me greatly (I also don’t take meds).
do you find it more helpful to eat main bigger meals than snack ? thank you so much for sharing ! :)
Have you considered taking TRT for Hashimoto’s to improve hormone balance and to feel better, stronger, better mood, more energy and increased gym performance?
What about cannabis specifically THC
I have the same issue I've been on the same medication for over 3 years now thanks for this video it is helpful for people that do not understand I guess my only question is would you recommend the adrenal gland restore I as a good product to take that's probably the only thing I don't take
What foods you recommend eating
With having Hashimoto’s do you feel working out helps you feel better?
Hi Nick, did you test your thyroid hormones and antibodies lately, since you are not taking any medications (hormones) ?
I take levothyroxine pills :/ I was diagnosed 3 years ago but I’m sure it started a year before that because I gained soo much weight that it’s become difficult to lose
Most times people aren’t properly medicated
Iodine and selenium are good supplements for thyroid
Iodine is 50/50, some say it’s good, some say it’s not. Selenium is good for sure tho!
Brazil nuts
Iodine is basically thyroid food. It runs the thyroid. That's why if you have thyroid cancer, you take radioactive iodine to kill the remaining tissue. I think if you over do it- it can cause the opposite effects.
@@HeatherMusicc for iodine is 150mcg/day max
@@justsayin7865 yes cause Brazil nuts have a lot of selenium, it’s why I said to take selenium supplements if someone doesn’t eat nuts. Good info 👍🏻
Hi Nick, do you know how long it took your body, until your own t3/t4 production was back to a normal level? I've also been on that medication for a long time and i stopped taking it yesterday. So im curious how long my body is probably going to take to produce the hormones by itself again.
Hi Nick,
I've had hashi's for about a decade now. I'm working on getting off meds, they turn me hyper. Can I ask what your labs look like these days having been off meds? Thx 💙
Hello Sherry! My TSH is still high but I'm feeling the best I've felt in a long time. No meds. Just good food, stress management, and quality sleep!
Try buckwheat for carb source!
I used to use it and make pancakes with them!
Thanks for sharing, been getting aches on my arms and wrists. Any suggestions on how to overcome this?
Try to follow an AIP Paleo diet and see if it helps
@@NickDompierre thanks, I think the medication is what is giving me these side effects, tired of dealing with this and the headaches. Only been on it for 3 months since diagnosed. How do you feel on a day to day basis without medication and just doing supplements, healthy exercise etc..
@@oscararredondo9672 I feel fairly decent. Someday are great and some days are so/so. More good days than bad tho. We are moving in the right direction.
I have this as well !
How many hours did you fast for? I’m struggling with major flare ups right now. Want to try it.
Were you also chronically lean (stage lean) back in 2015 when you were diagnosed with Hashimotos?
Yes I was
Even though I’m not surprised, it gets me every time how people follow doctors blindly when most of them have no idea what they’re doing. Can’t blame them, you expect your doctor to know what they talk about, but their studies are so outdated.
I can't fall asleep any advice for a good night sleep like supplement are anything you do that help you?
This supplement called Night T helps a lot. It has melatonin, magnesium, zinc, and much more to help with sleep. 1stphorm.com/products/night-t?a_aid=NickDompierre let me know if you have any questions
Thank u I feel same.way.
so how is your metabolic rate fairly high (even without the crossfit i remember ur normal days of eating before crossfit would still be around 3,000 cals) even though you have hypothyroidism? and also with the cheat days how does that affect you differently versus a normal person?
also wow man didn’t know all this about you, and how much it impacts the day to day, ur a beast, only have much more respect for u (the amount u exercise and effort in general considering the symptoms that may make that harder)
Yeah my whole life I’ve been an active athlete. Also when I wasn’t skateboarding, I’d get in 10k steps daily. I’ve learned a lot about thyroid optimization.
@@NickDompierre ah i see. fr tho man i’ve always had respect for u, it’s just grown even exponential amounts lol. the fact u have those symptoms of being tired and push yourself is so dope!
How young are you?
35
hehehe, i remember the nightly platter
