I used to have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I got this year the iPhone 13 pro max but as soon it was delivered to my place I went to the Apple Store to check the iPhone 13 mini and the iPad mini and I fall in love so I decided to exchange it for the iPhone 13 mini and the iPad mini both in pink and I also got the pink case, the pink band for the Apple Watch and the battery MagSafe pack - I couldn’t be happier with my decision - I do also have the iPad Pro 12.9 inches wifi/cellular 1tb that replaced my old Mac laptop.

I bought my 13 mini 10 days ago. Absolutely love the small form factor. I have my old 11 here laying around, and it's huge and heavy in comparison. However, the 13 mini's battery is indeed something to take into consideration. If I manage my battery well, I can make it 12 hours without charging. Maybe a bit longer with tricks such as dark mode, low power, etc. But once I start doing some 'pro' stuff, such as video shooting, taking pictures and the occasional 5G, the battery drains to a point where I need to charge the mini at some time during the day. Not a big problem in practice, as I hook my iPhone up to my car regularly with CarPlay and I have the magsafe battery pack as a back-up. However, when travelling and being all touristy (taking pictures, navigating, etc), you will have to be careful and make sure you charge whenever you can or bring a battery pack. In the end, the small form factor is worth it.
I just bought the 13 Mini in Product Red and I love this phone. Usually I have big phones and I was going to buy the 13 Pro Max in Sierra Blue, but My Wife had the 12 Mini and I thought it was a really good size. When I saw the upgrades, I decided on the 13 Mini. I actually think it's the perfect phone and with the clear magsafe case, it really enhances that beautiful Red. I spent a lot of time thinking about this and am really happy with my decision.
I picked up a blue 13 mini (128GB) in October and I still haven’t been able to kill it in a day. I adore this thing’s size, display, cameras, and experience overall.
The battery is surprisingly good! The 13 Mini feels so fresh after using an s22 ultra and s23 ultra for a year. Although its just my secondary / backup phone, I tend to pick it up over my ultra lol
Tbh that is perfectly fine for most people who are at an office or don’t use there phones like him where he seems to be using the camera (battery draining app) so often.
Great 13 mini review. I bought my first mini and I am really happy with it. I still have my 11 pro but not seeing much use now. The 13 mini is my main phone now. Very easy to have in my pocket or shirt pocket and I like that. Great real use review. Thank you.
@@kamilaw.2126 Well the camera is better but the mini has no Telephoto zoom lens. The battery will last about 1.5 hours less on the mini. I bought my iphone 13 mini for the the small size. But for sure you get much more with the iphone 11 pro. So the iphone 13 pro would be one to look at for a replacement of the iphone 11 pro. I do think the mini is a downgrade from the 11 pro.
This is cool. My wife is rocking the 13 mini. she does not use the phone nearly as much as you use it and she gets full day battery life for sure. as they say, mileage may vary :)
I totally agree with you: I so much wish Apple would do a 13 Pro Mini! It could be a millimeter thicker for battery life, I wouldn’t mind. Well, for now it’s the 13 Pro Not-Max, and it feels great in the hand, but it’s only marginally smaller than the 7 Plus it replaces that I used to find too big.
I sold my 11 Pro Max 5 months ago because the size and weight was cumbersome even when I loved the battery life, so I've got an iPhone 8 while I waited for the 13 lineup (at first I was waiting for the 6.1 inch 13 Pro but now that I'm used to the iPhone 8 size I think I'll just get the 13 mini, I just can't go to a bigger phone). Lucky for me, the 13 mini battery life is way better than my current iPhone 8 and seems to be equal or better than my prior iPhone XS (before the 11 Pro Max), also my sister got the 13 mini and I will quickly test it before I make my decision.
And if the battery is not enough for a long day like a road trip, an international flight, a tourism day or something like that, the magsafe battery pack it's the solution for that.
I'm still so tempted to return my 13 Pro for a 13 mini. I usually prioritize ergonomics and I'd like to think switching to a 13 mini would help curb my embarrassing 5-6hrs of screen time a day, but losing the telephoto and adding battery anxiety to the mix probably isn't worth it. I wish the regular Pros stayed at the 5.8in size.
The zoom on the Pro is absolutely nuts - very cool feature. But the mini is cheap. But at the price of the Pro you may as well use a dedicated camera and buy some lenses. (you could buy the 13 mini and with what you saved, buy a nice basic DSLR.
Think about it this way, what matters more to you? The compact form factor, or the Telephoto? Which one would you use indulge in more often? If you're not on your Telephoto 6 hours a day, then it makes no sense to consider it. But you notice the compact form factor of mini 24/7. Even when you aren't using the device. If you do use your Telephoto 6 hours a day, then you're probably better off buying a Camera system and lens instead. The Mini is already selling for the price of the base iPhone 14 where I'm from. That's very telling of the demand for the device since Apple isn't gonna make another Mini for at least a good 4-5 years. You really wanna wait till 2028 for MAYBE another compact iPhone?
The batt life is great for me..I use my phone a lot at home but when I'm out I barely use it. We've come a long way..I still remember early smartphones..after 2 hours you had to plug it in..lol
if you love recording videos and social media, i recommend the Max. if you're getting old like me and work "9-5" you will love the mini for being compact. I just switched from 12 pro max to mini and i love it!
I watched this video a long time ago, and it has always stuck with me, more so than any other iPhone mini video on TH-cam. Just excellent review, photography, walking around NYC (one of my favorite places), and I am purchasing one today finally!
Watching on my Midnight 13 Mini. In a midnight Apple leather case and perfect fitting MagSafe wallet in…..midnight. It’s perfect and easily one handing typing. Used the savings and got the iPad Mini 6 for bed, companion device, etc which is huge compared to the max. The iPad mini plus 13 mini is the same price as just the max. Big phones for men in a pocket is ridiculous. Women have purses and are all about being immersed. Men just want to get things done which is why the mini is a guys phone in my opinion.
The 13 Mini pro is what apple needed to make.. the 3000mah battery with new camera system.. beast camera & battery life... the normal 13 doesnt need to exist.
Went from 11 pro max to the new (red) 13 mini and its great. Never a battery problem on a normal day but i do have the battery pack to slip on the back if needed,
Sounds great Greg and I am really tempted by the 13 Mini, but my only concern will be in couple of years time when that battery health declines. One other query I do have which I have not seen mentioned by any of the tech reviewers, how is the battery life when you actually use it as a phone and you are making and receiving calls during the day. Great video anyway. ove your reviews.
Just replace the battery at that time if it’s not lasting long enough. Then you can keep that small form factor if Apple does decide to not make a mini size anymore, like seems to be the case.
The hilarious thing is my smaller old iPhone 6s has macro mode and my 13 mini doesn’t. It also takes better colour photos in artificial light, it seems to have a superior auto white balance.
I went from a IPhone 10 to iPhone 12 mini, I liked the size of the iPhone 10 but still found it big and heavy considering it was smaller than the iPhone 11 and Pro Max models. So when I switched to the iPhone 12 mini it was a throw back to iPhone 4 era. it’s what i consider a proper mobile phone size. I think the iPhone 3 was even better but perhaps the iPhone 4 size is better for viewing videos and content.
My Wife used an Iphone 4S for years and it kept going and going. Eventually we upgraded it for the 12 Mini. A few days agoi I decided to stop using larger phones and bought the 13 Mini. The Mini is a really amazing phone and I hope Apple keep this size going. It's such a great niche in a world of stupidly large phones.

I remeber my 6s had to be replaced just because of this. I had battery replaced but it never matched the new experience batt life. Now my jongest is still using it but she can only use it for a short time. Probably the updates don’t help with this either.
Am glad the 13 mini is an upgrade from the 12 mini. Think its unfair to compare it to the pro or pro max seeing that the users of the two phones would be different?

Not everyone has to do work with a cellphone 📲 Overall I took this video to heart and it has mede me aware with my decision to get the iPhone 13 Mini. I agree. On normal days it lasted 5 - 6 hours of SOT. Most people don’t use their phone that long, so it’s definitely where the battery life needs to be,
That was just the review, that i was looking for! Thanks man! One thing i always thought about, while i was checking on all these iPhone 12/13 Mini Reviews and Real Day Revies.. Everyone i saw had the 5G turned on. Of course, if AT&T supports it in your area thats actually great, but what about turning off 5G? I had the experience with my iPhone 12 (living in Germany) that the 5G just sucked the life outta my iPhone compared to 4G connection. So, why is noone actually doing a Real Day Review with 4G instead of the 5G? I bet this will improve the 12/13 Mini´s battery life hell a lot tho. Maybe i have to do a review like this when my 13 Mini arrives in 3 weeks... ;D
Why is the mini seen as some kind of strange object? It’s bigger than past iPhones. It’s what a phone should be. Other phones are basically small tablets. Unless you use your phone professionally, mini is the way to go.
People use their phones as their main camera nowadays, so the better zoom of larger models is hardly a professional usage feature. It's for casuals/tourists.
Loving my 13 mini. I'm getting better sot than my 12 pro...at least on wifi. I need to do a comparison of network but they should be similar. I've gotten 10 hrs sot 100-5%.i know it will be lower on network but I always have a charger around, so no big deal. I will be getting the pixel 6 to try as well.. otherwise I'm waiting for the 14 before I trade in my 12 pro. I'd like apple to quit messing around and fix the bugs in ios 15 more than anything though. Some bugs might be more app related but ios has been buggy since ios 14. Thanks for the video Greg👍
My decade old base model white iPhone 4S on iOS 6 jailbroken can deliver 4-5 hours of battery life doing basic things. A couple pictures here and there, a bunch of music, not much web browsing, checking twitter a bit, and texting people. Amazing, for a decade old phone. Better than my year and a half old iPod touch 7th gen on iOS 15, that thing gets about 2 hours.
I had an 11 pro max and I have a 13 pro and I love the camera and 120 hz otherwise I’d get a 13 mini. The pro kinda hurts to hold with the shape and reaching to the top is easier but still a nuisance. Too bad the mini is being discontinued and doesn’t have the Pro cameras.
Sidenote all of the notifications on all the apps you have on that screen you’re showing for the battery life or also attributing to the battery drain by the way…. Subtle tweaks within the Settings app will help battery life… I also went from a 12 mini to a 13 mini I’m borderline considering a one +9 pro….🤔🤔🙀 and do you have a video that has or was filmed entirely on a 13 mini??
Great video, I think if u turn off 5g it will last even more, am using 13 mini and ye am getting around 6-7 hrs of screen on time , only 1 drawback of this phone is sometimes u can type something wrong due to size :) For battery I think it’s similar to iPhone 11
We gotta remember the iphone 4 or even the iphone 5/5s. Battery life then mattered but not as much as is does now. Really depends on how you use the phone.
I'm not the kind of person that takes lots of pictures and videos. I do take some occasionally, but I don't NEED the pro camera system. I also love the small form factor. I'm currently on Android and ngl the things I'd miss here would be the telephoto lens (I only use it to read signs that are far away when I'm not wearing glasses), usb-c (hoping for a 14 mini with the type-c connector) and sideloading. Other than that, I'd love to own this device, and I truly hope compact phones become the new cool thing.
Would be a great help if you could give a reply. Which one would be better to get iphone 12 regular 128gb or 13 mini 128 if the price difference is around $150. Or is it better to take the 13 regular
What’s the big fuss over one handed typing? Just because it’s doable doesn’t mean it’s practical. One handed typing is slower therefore not the de facto choice
Hey Greg, great day in the of video for the 13 mini. At the beginning of the video, you said you started 84% battery left on your phone but you were pretty much done by 5. I would you would have an hour or two left of juice if you started with 100%.
@GregsGadgets I enjoy many of your videos and thank you for posting them. May I ask if you'd know how the battery life would compare to a Samsung Galaxy S10? Thanks in advance.

Try videos at night when raining. Its another level.
Greg, great video. Was 5G on the entire day while you used the mini?
Yeah 5G was on as well. And thank you 🙏
@@GregsGadgets Well, considering 5G was on, I think the mini did great considering all of the abuse you put it through.
I agree. On normal days it lasted 5 - 6 hours of SOT. Most people don’t use their phone that long, so it’s definitely where the battery life needs to be,
Is there anyway next time you could show the battery drops at the end of the day from the battery setting?
Maybe i have to do a review like this when my 13 Mini arrives in 3 weeks... ;D
Any news on that?
Great video.. about time you do a real day in life video with the phone.
How much does using the mini with an Apple Watch drain the battery?
Why is the mini seen as some kind of strange object? It’s bigger than past iPhones. It’s what a phone should be. Other phones are basically small tablets. Unless you use your phone professionally, mini is the way to go.
People use their phones as their main camera nowadays, so the better zoom of larger models is hardly a professional usage feature. It's for casuals/tourists.
bro can we get at least 3 or 4 hours battery with mini as a travel videographer
Love the size & weight, but coming from a 6 plus and it's battery life, I am thrilled with my 13pm...
It is the “Mazda Miata of sports cars”………ITS FUN ,SMALL …AND PACKAGED WITH TEC ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
debating gold brown or midnight leather case. I'm just scared I might lose my phone in the night :/
I am interested in the mini however I do not have best vision. I also have small hands. Would zoom be enough for me to see ?
SO good to have an actual useful real life test. Thank you.
How about macro? Does it take macro shots of like flower’s details?
I enjoyed your review. I appreciate the 13 mini but I need larger screen and battery life. Blessings on your day!
13 mini with leather case here. Perfect combination!
Greg you make NJ proud!
Thank you 🙏 Salute.
Great video as usual..! Keep up the good work..! Getting the mini soon..! Seems battery is pretty enough for most of the people's..!! 🖤🖤
Are those green/blue lens flares normal with all smart phone cameras?
I was very disappointed in my 12 Mini, horrible battery life. I have returned to my 8 Plus and am very pleased again.
Great video, would you do that with the other 13 models?
That background blur looks awful around the edges of the front subject. Seems very poorly implemented.
Ayyyeee nice vid !
What do you think about this same phone but with the iphone 14 just realized
Greg i love the vid and youre hilarious! 😂
Thank you 🙏
Sidenote all of the notifications on all the apps you have on that screen you’re showing for the battery life or also attributing to the battery drain by the way…. Subtle tweaks within the Settings app will help battery life… I also went from a 12 mini to a 13 mini I’m borderline considering a one +9 pro….🤔🤔🙀 and do you have a video that has or was filmed entirely on a 13 mini??
Is the 13min better than iPhone xr interms of battery life usage ?
Great video, I think if u turn off 5g it will last even more, am using 13 mini and ye am getting around 6-7 hrs of screen on time , only 1 drawback of this phone is sometimes u can type something wrong due to size :)
For battery I think it’s similar to iPhone 11
You are getting 6-7 hours with 5g turned off?
@@maps1993 ye, I actually exchanged my mini to regular 13
@@chahineatallah2636 because of the battery performance you switched to regular 13?
We gotta remember the iphone 4 or even the iphone 5/5s. Battery life then mattered but not as much as is does now. Really depends on how you use the phone.
Just bought one looks but it will not set up 😢 upgrade from my 6s plus slab
Great and helpful video. Thank you Greg.
Excellent review! I agree with you 100%. THIS is the smartphone that I have been waiting for so long, since phablets stole the show. BTW, subscribed.
I'm taking the last iphone mini and waiting for 15 pro with type C.
This vid will make me get 13 mini
Great video!! Ready to get my 13 mini, trading in my 12 pro…….
9:12 "Wait a minute...!Who are you..?"🤣
my 100th iphone videos watched...😂😂😂
What’s the big fuss over one handed typing? Just because it’s doable doesn’t mean it’s practical. One handed typing is slower therefore not the de facto choice
Are you at sfo
You are looking good in your black, slimming shirt! Love your dry humor.
How is iPhone 13 battery 🔋
Are you related to Indiana Drones?
13 mini ❤
wallpaper link plss
What? where's the Anker plug ?
Forget the phone, is that a a dig at NYC in the intro?! 😡
Lol!
Hey Greg, great day in the of video for the 13 mini.
At the beginning of the video, you said you started 84% battery left on your phone but you were pretty much done by 5.
I would you would have an hour or two left of juice if you started with 100%.
hows macrophotography?
Not available on the mini, but it’s nice on the Pro.
I think I’m convinced
So, if you're just gonna watch TH-cam, browse social media, and take photos from time to time, you think it would last longer?
I might be alone, but the cinematic mode looks too over processed. Too much feathering for my taste - is this an option or fixed as displayed?
You're not alone, it looks terrible.
I just love the downtown area so much
Brennan and Dale says “So much extra space in our pocket to do activities” when asked about the iPhone 13 Mini.
@GregsGadgets I enjoy many of your videos and thank you for posting them. May I ask if you'd know how the battery life would compare to a Samsung Galaxy S10? Thanks in advance.
