The real life footage and the way you play the game give it so much depth and legitimacy (if that makes sense..) I'm a Planet Coaster player, not CS, but being part of the BroNation community, this is exactly how we play those type of games with real life references and attention to details ; and it brings together adults passionate by the same things. And those real life videos you add are a perfect example of the commitment and the passion we have. it's still a game and it's still to have fun but it is definitely for grown up (or at least mature minds.) Edit - And of course we watch the all episode.... ;-)
I am eager to try out the CSUR mod, however it seems that none of the highways have shoulders on them. Also I don't know how you can play with the game unpaused as I find the car movement distracting, even at 15% speed. Having a massive construction site would look really cool, so do it I say!
Yeah it’s a super intimidating mod and road pack. But worth it if you’re building realistic roads. I unpause the game only to make more interesting videos
fascinated with this project. Been to Chongqing 3 times - each time new buildings being built. Fascinating city - Chongqing Raffles (7 Hi Rise Buildings at river fork) almost finished. Lots of winding roads tree covered hills, temples in amongst Hi Rise's - keep up the excellent work
I like the idea with the largest building being under construction. I was in shanghai when they were still building the shanghai tower (tallest skyscraper in shanghai last time i checked). At night almost all of the tall skyscrapers turned of their lights and at that point you could see the welding arcs from the top of the shanghai tower which was by then already the tallest structure in the skyline. That was a really cool experience.

re: your problem finding a park china uses an algorithm to distort google maps so many places shown don't exist theres either a wendover productions or half as interesting video on it
The idea of having the tallest building in the city be under construction is so unique. Don't think I've ever seen that in a CS build... It would be awesome! Of course, as cities grow, they add newer and taller buildings, so it makes sense that the newest addition would be the largest, most ambitious project. Here in Los Angeles we watched the Wilshire Grand building slowly rise up out of the ground over the past 5 years, and its now the tallest building in the US west of the Mississippi river. The concrete pour for the foundation was the longest continuous pour in history (nearly 19 hours!) Anyway, enough nerding out. I'm eager to see what techniques you use to accomplish the under construction skyscraper look!

CSUR is not quite friendly for new players XD, you are already a pro! Having the tallest building under construction is a good idea, and it's even more realistic this way. As we all know that China is a developing country, everything is changing so quickly these days, construction sites are indeed very comment in most of the Chinese cities.

I live in Kuala Lumpur and for the pass few years our new tallest building has also been under construction and I must admit it is a cool look to go for! It's always been quite surreal when Im near the building and every where you go and look up you see these cranes around at the edge of the top of the building just looming over everything.

Dude, definitely make the tallest being be a work in progress. I haven’t seen anything like that yet and think it would be really unique. Also, I’ve tried the CSUR Mod and it definitely takes some getting used to. I also realized that you can’t really use it in cities where you’ve already built a pre-existing vanilla highway network because the nodes don’t match up. I love the intersection you built, makes me want to start a new city with CSUR enabled. I’m also thankful that you posted footage of you using the CSUR mod because it clarified a few things I missed in the tutorial.
A pretty impressive highway too is the one between Montreux and Villeneuve in Switzerland, it is just next to the Geneva Lake and on a very steep mountain side because there is no other place to build it
It would be interesting to see an “empty city.” Where there’s an area that can hold a few million but only has a few thousand. It kinda signifies how the population growth in cities just can’t keep up with the economic growth, as well as the sketchier aspects of the Chinese economy, such as artificial growth
You definitely should make the tallest building in the city as an UC structure. May be build it down by the river. You could go crazy and build a core at virtually the full height and then add partial floors halfway up. May I suggest the PO mod would be an ideal solution to constructing this.
I think having the tallest building being under construction would be really cool. However, I love the current use of the tall skyscrapers that you have - I think they shape the skyline well. So, I would say definitely make the tallest building under construction, but also don’t remove the buildings you have now.

The CSUR roads are absolutely incredible - they have the versatility that people have wanted from CS roads since day 1. Maybe that American roads pack will get here eventually. But you did some absolutely incredible stuff with them! I never realized how authentic the very roads could make a scene. And by the way, I think the idea for having the highest building under construction is really cool - it means the skyline can have a totally unique landmark building as its tallest. And it would be kind of fitting for a crane to be the highest point.

Maybe you could make several buildings in the larger areas under construction like you’d see in Miami. It’s not a Chinese city but there are tons of skyscrapers under construction there and it adds a lot of contrast to the ones that are finished
Talking about a highway network bordering a mountainous region in 18:31, there's a similar network in Hong Kong. Snaking from east to west it is windy, spiral, and 3D in Google Earth with street images. Type Lung Cheung Road in Google Earth and you'll find it.
When using traffic manager you can do "Shift + S" when using the lane choose tool, to disable lane changing for the chosen intersection. Like you do manually at 19:01
I wish you walked us through how the new road mod works at least a little bit so we could have some context of how you’re building them. I was a bit lost. It looks cool though!
Regarding Corona virus, I appreciate your sensitivity, when I heard about the lockdown of Wuhan I remembered thinking about the impact it might make on your series. I hope it doesn’t influence or put a bad light on your amazing project and I believe if anything you can use this project to voice your collective audiences support to the ongoing battle. Perhaps if you know an asset creator who could create something with the words “Wuhan jiāyoú”, which means Wuhan stay strong, something many of the residents have taken to shouting outside their apartments at night. Whatever you decide I’m glad you’re still enjoying this project!
The road where the on/off ramps are in the middle should be extended further down in my opinion. It's way too close to the ramp, there's no buffer space for traffic to sit in. Oh and yes you should most definitively build a construction site! And the tutorial on how to optimize performance on your city

It is a wonderful idea to have the tallest building under construction. I remember that Fluxtrance's Avalon have a similar approach, something that could be taken reference of. Just a question and it probably isn't new, but I see you placing buildings very far away from the roads without the need to be connected for services, may I ask what mod allow you to do that?
I did try csur but my pc wasn’t really good enough to load all the assets. It was still very overwhelming having that many roads, also I really like the sound of that building under construction

I've had a go using CSUR, when I create an off ramp, instead of it curving off, it creates a straight road. I've seen tutorials of players automatically creating curved off ramps, wondering what I'm missing.

A wild Filing cabinet yeah there are a few “ghost cities” in China but there are people living there, just not filling the city’s capacity

i used to play with the CSUR (i call it Seesur) roads befor this new UI. Man it was a challenge but making smooth intersections is worth it.
Absolutely do the under-construction skyscraper. That would fit very well. More building sites in general would be a nice fit
With all the interchanges, the city you are building should be called something that sounds like Junction with Chinese pronounciation XP

honestly, Chongqing has enough parks, and just look at those moutains... and actually Chongqing has a forest covergae rate at about 50%.
Funny enough, most parks in China are humongous
There is a park in every community in China, and their living environment is actually very good.
