“Let’s take a look”! And Dan is quickly out da door! I was 8 years old when I first saw this episode. We as a family never missed Highway Patrol or Perry Mason, plus many more in the day. Kinda miss the Shirley Temple and Tarzan films on Sunday in the 50’s. It was a great family time especially in the winter when the snow was falling in rural PA.

1:10 "On May 1st, two men were speeding to a resort
area. They were dressed like fishermen. They looked like fishermen. But they
    were different from most fisherman."
... All the while the passenger cuddled up next to the driver, with his arm around the divers neck.
As Seinfeld would say.... "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
OK... ok... I know it was because the aspect ratio of TV's back then was much narrower than today, so actors had to be very close together to be in the shot... But it's just funny how the narration seemed to have a double meaning (at least in today's world). :-)

That's what I want the next time I go fishing 🎣. Some big burly he-man all squished up against me with his hand around my neck, while I'm trying to 🚗 drive. Especially when there's a plethora of beautiful women who could do the same thing. Now I Know why they wrecked.... The driver said " Man back up give me some room, I don't swing that way!" Next thing you know, a big old burly tree jumps out in front of them.

I'm a child of the 40s. remember the 50s and been driving since the 60s. Solid steering columns, hard dash boards and non-existent seat belts made for high death tolls. But a car to have two deaths while the steering geometry stayed in tact defies imagination.
But that's OK, it's fiction. Who cares. If you don't like the way it's written, write it yourself.

That proves how much OUR SICK SOCIETY HAS CHANGED! Think about this. In 1950's-60's MUSIC was #1. Elvis was coming up then Johnny Cash. Frank Sinatra. Dean Martin. Don Rickles and many more but, good CLEAN FUN. LAUGHING. Having a SENSE OF HUMOR in my Dad's (My Dad always had a good JOKE. Loved to laugh. We don't see a lot of HUMOR today) day and MY TIME growing up was something I'll never forget My father's GEN had THE DORSEY BAND. And others. Dancing was Huge.TV was not great because of the WIGGLY LINES on TV Reception and terrible picture but, they watched HEALTHY STUFF.LOTS OF COMEDY ACTS. OK, now this: Our PARENTS use to say in the 1950's-60's, 'You Kids Go OUTSIDE and Play. Go see what your FRIENDS are doing'. We were 8 years old and younger. ALL us kids would be playing TILL "DARK". This went on in to our TEENAGE YEARS. And then in the 70's-80's Slowly as TELEVISION & FILM Changed so did 'Family life' and 'Protection of Children'. Only a SOCIOLOGIST who has studied AMERICAN SOCIETY could tell us, when, why CHILDREN COULDN'T GO OUTDOORS ANYMORE AND PLAY. Like we use to?? What the hell happened? Why did the sick Pedophiles like Epstein and really dangerous freaks think it was 'Their Time and they could KIDNAP KIDS & HURT KIDS' WHY? We NEVER HEARD OF SUCH THINGS IN 60'S. EVER!!! Then it was on the TV, Film, in Books. Just insanity. Now we have COMPUTERS, SOCIAL MEDIA and 'Fake Friends in fact 10,000 FRIENDS? LMAO' Mostly RUSSIAN & CHINESE! lol and "clicks" and society going at ten thousand MPH...way TOO FAST! Us kids also use to sit on the PORCH after school and talk, laugh, tell stories. Hopes & Dreams shared! Now rarely 'face to face' talks. That too has changed. They are TEXTING now. Emailing. Instagram. Twitter. more. Yes, TV, Film, Books, Magazines and HOME LIFE there is some kind of connection! Watching CHP 50's-60's you can really SEE THE CHANGE in s many ways. Added DANGER they were in. Lack of Training but, they got the job done. Heroes all. The stress is tremendous for CHP. In 2017 almost #57 CHP Officers 'Committed Suicide' to all kinds of stresses on the job & at home. We are MOVING TOO FAST THESE DAYS. Too much is REQUIRED OF US; Government is in OUR HOME. AT WORK. FILNING EVERYTHING WHEN WE'RE OUT. CAMERA'S EVERYWHERE!!! Medical Doctors too...817 doctors 'Committed Suicide in 2018'. Way too many. ONE IS TOO MANY! In 2017 I was Diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and I began SEEING LIFE DIFFERENTLY. Looking at life with more Respect, Appreciating what friends and family have done for me, and even Doctors CARING a great deal. I had one doctor CALL ME AT HOME after I gave up due to horrific TREATMENTS scaring me and harming me (Radiation/Chemo/Surgery/Experimental therapy w/cells) . I wanted him to GO AWAY. He refused. He strongly requested I give him, a SURGEON USING ROBOTIC SURGERY, a chance to save me. Just to try, he said. Not many doctors would do this given my 'Tone & Anger'. OK Bless you all, slow down people. Appreciate the PEOPLE IN YOUR LIVES, In ;Front of You' NOT on a computer & using social media - You do not truly KNOW THEM! Think about it clearly. The people who love you are in your life right here and now. Good luck, Bless, Psalm 46"10 BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.....

Breaks my heart to see that beautiful '56 Dodge getting wrecked and being towed instead of driven. However it's rest assured that the producers didn't wreck a brand new car but was just mocked up to be. They had a $20,000 budget and one of those cars cost $3000 new (a stiff price for 1956) The Royal Lancer as that one was had a 315 cid engine (an upgraded version of the previous year's 270 cid) and standard horsepower was 218 but an optional 260 bhp was available. Needless to say a very powerful machine.
At 60 mph and no seat belts both occupants would have been thrown a large distance from the car.

The "brains" of the operation sure wasn't very brainy. Bashes the old guy in the head and steals the wrecked car, renewing Dan's interest in the car after he had dismissed it. Then tows it in broad daylight to do a 30-second job with a hammer to free the cash box, leaves the cash box with his fingerprints at the scene, and throws a few dead branches on the car to hide it. They should have waited until 2am to go to the impound lot to get the money out of the car. Small towns like that would have been completely closed down after 9pm.
