I hate how the P guy hates on "11 Gokus, 11 Vegetas" yet christens XV2's method of merging the forms into one character. You know what XV2's awoken skills do for Goku? Change his hair, and boosts his stats by a little. No base form with "Give me your Energy!" and the Spirit Bomb into SSJ form with IT Kamehameha into SSJ2 with Meteor Combination into SSJ3 with Dragon Fist. 99% of the time, it's just Kamehameha, Full Power Charge, Super Kamehameha, and, if you're lucky, IT as a super. And it's the exact same skills and basic attack animations for _every_ form. I'd rather have 11 Gokus count as their own characters if it gives them at least altered skills instead of condensed character slots with literally the same animations throughout. SSJG Goku and SSJB Goku have _no_ excuse to take up character slots in XV2, because they're just almost carbon copies of base Goku, but with better stats (and different base Goku skins have differing stats anyways, so...).

Looks like the point system and rank modes are the reason for so many variations. In xenoverse if I remember right only one goku costume had the SSB kaioken. So if there's preference, for example my go to was ss2 goku on the old tenkaichi games specifically because of his knockback kick when he spins on his hands. I can see one model going to ss3 only another that goes to ssb, id think the UI will have its own form from base then going higher and beyond that.

my only concern is the lack of balancing, yeah the game is series accurate, but wouldnt that also mean there is a decent chance a character you like has a inherent disadvantage or advantage in casuals or ranked?
That DBZ Sagas music in the background brought back so many memories. Say what you want about the gameplay as I know many people have different opinions of the game, but the music was so good.

BRO! Sparking Zero recently showed an outfit selection screen for Goku. From what I understand, it would still be the same character, not an additional one, but some of the movesets will change. Don't this mean that characters that haters keep counting as repeats could have just been costumes, deception by Red Herring!
Also, a common nag that I've heard from haters is that they're tired of seeing all of these main characters and their different forms but also gripe when we get new or side characters. Can't make everyone happy I guess

Looks like the point system and rank modes are the reason for so many variations. In xenoverse if I remember right only one goku costume had the SSB kaioken. So if there's preference, for example my go to was ss2 goku on the old tenkaichi games specifically because of his knockback kick when he spins on his hands. I can see one model going to ss3 only another that goes to ssb, id think the UI will have its own form from base then going higher and beyond that.
