Yes, Drain Flies are like small moths, they breed in Drain pipes, lay eggs in the fat build up, If you get a bad infestation, they come up through your kitchen sink, you can get thousands of them all over the walls and ceilings in your home, That why it pays to have your drain pipes cleaned out every year.

In your first video, the pipe you cleaned out has two openings (one above the other) Original fittings had a sort of "tea pot lid" that covered the top opening.They were originally designed as a rodding point, the lid was supposed to prevent fumes coming out. Never worked that well and most of the lids have been lost or broken over the years.

Luckily, they are over trousers, that I put in a black bag once I have done a job, also I have very good air fresheners in my van.
