The very name Madan Mohan, rings and explodes the melody, emotion and feeling in your heart and mind. The king of Gazal, as he is affectionately called by one and all. A fitting tribute on his 100th 🎂 birth anniversary. The singers made an honest presentation. The crowning glory of the programme is the music and musicians. As far as my little knowledge goes, they have exactly reproduced everything like the original. Hats off to you. Madanji and Raja Mehdi Ali Khan combined to produce some immortal songs. It goes without saying that the super successful singers Lathaji and Rafiji have sealed every song with their stamp of approval. An ardent fan of music from an Indian, living in USA.❤❤❤❤🎉

The orchestra by Gramophone Club Ahmedabad is the best I heard in all these shows. In one show there was a Violin player, Shurti Bhave. She was brilliant. Her separate and lone violin interludes were a treat to ears. The sitar player is also very good. I have yet to see a Sarangi player layer in any show though many Indians play this instrument superbly. It’s sound is closest to human voice. The use of grand piano has also gone out of fashion though keyboards cannot reproduce the same sound.

May be you are right on your thinking but it is difficult to took all Madanji's song on in only 3 hours show we have to drop some songs and took very familiar songs because this was our Musical Group show so we have to take of their choice also

I have now watched hundreds of these shows and my impression is that99% of them are boring. The only program I am a bit impressed was by Gramophone Co Ahmedabad. This program has very good singers and orchestra but suffers from song selection. The person who select songs in these shows suffers from depression and all songs are sad. Second why many shows are obsessed with Madan Mohan. He is great MD but there are others equally great like CRam Chandra, Anil Biswas, Salil Chaudhry, Roshan, RC Boral, Ghulam Mohammed, Ghulam Haider, Vasant Desai etc. Even taking Madan Mohan songs, all shows sing same few songs over and over again. What about his songs from earlier films like Ada, then Dekh kabira roya, Gateway of India, Adalat etc. the presenter will talk about Madan Mohan iconic songs but then play some other not very popular song. Another point is to select a variety of songs like sad, happy, comedy, rock from Madan Mohan to show his versatility. In end I can give maximum of 4/10 points.

If Madan Mohan was watching this show he will be sad because he will realize that he is remembered for only a handful of his songs and his compositions of 1950’s has been totally ignored. Some people think that in these programs the songs of 1950s of Lata are ignored because it is difficult to reproduce the youthful voice of Lata. Some iconic masterpieces of MM that comes to mind are: 1 preetam meri duniya mein do din…ada 2 sanwari soorat man bhaii… Ada Mukesh Shamshad comedy duet from Ada 3 Mukesh from film Aankhain 4 Lata Rafi duet from Gateway of India 5 ay dil mujhe bata de…geeta… bhai bhai 6 hamare baar is mehfil…Lata.. baghi Lata Talat songs from Madhosh, Aishyana Jailor, nirmohi etc etc

His composition from Jailor “hum pyar mein jalne waloon ko chain kahan” is a masterpiece. Also Lata song from Dekh kabira roya is awesome.
