Can white European people move to New Zealand and then consider themselves & their kids as maori? Can they do the same in Australia and consider them aboriginals? Of course not, the maori are the Indigenous people of New Zealand, the Aboriginals are the Indigenous people of Australia. Such indigenous peoples would never recognise or accept Europeans in such a way. The Irish are the Indigenous people of Ireland. The person in question was not even born in the country & has zero blood ties to the country. He is not Irish.

One minute they are Syrian , Iraqi, Afghanistani, turkish , African or god knows what next minute they are an irish man with a free house. If i was born in china to irish parents could i go around telling people im chinese.
The native Irish don't want to become a minority in their 'home'land. What's so difficult to understand about that? The presenter said that the caller wants people to go 'home'. He understands the concept of 'home' just not for the native Irish. So, the Irish should be somehow 'different' from the people all over the world and have no 'home'? There will still be a geographical location called Ireland but it won't mean a single thing.
Like I was told in every country I lived in as a Irish immigrant and is known world wide you are Irish if you are born in the country if you become a Irish citizen officially then you are a Irish citizen that's what everyone in the world rules are. Being Irish is more than holding citizenship and its also given out way too easy, its a disgrace!

Are the Maoris, Indigenous Australians, American Indigenous, and other examples considered racist for standing up for their rights and culture. The original reason we added the Irish citizenship for those born on this island was because Irish people born in the six counties had to be identified as British. Up to the late 90s, Irish was not considered an ethnicity in the UK, so they received no benefits in relation to being an ethnic minority in Britain. Irish people had to pay for their visas and they had to have a skill/education of value to the country they were applying to, on top of that, they also had to have enough money to support themselves in the country for the duration of their stay, so as not to become a burden on said state. If you did not have proof of these while arriving at customs you were incarcerated and deported home. Why are they entitled to better treatment than our own when they went abroad, it is a fact that even those who failed the process are still here "illegally" many years later. Some are still living in the IPA centres while working because this country's rents are so high. This is not equality, just a return to the tenement slum days of overcrowding. Migrants are working for less than the minimum wage, how does this not have an effect on society?
