in my opinion it's a fun gimmick when used lightly, though for a casual osu! video, napii kinda overused it. i don't really see people criticizing the zoomed in cursor specificially in osu!rewind 2023 though, it's not really used all too much in the rewind. it's moreso just how flashy the entire thing was + how many underrated plays/players are not given proper spotlight. not to mention that the zoomed in cursor gimmick also appeared in osu!rewind 2022, even there i don't see a single person disliking it.
imo it worked in osu rewind because the entire thing is incredibly over the top and flashy, which is very cool when the only thing you're doing is trying to showcase scores but I think it was indeed overused in this video
My favorite part was Napiii saying it was controversial for pretty much no reason, its just a silly vocaloid song that got super popular. And then immedietely move on to say goodbye which had all heck break loose when it got vetoed lmao

Funny how I thought I downloaded hella ton of the 2024 maps yet I haven't played most maps mentioned: - I downloaded Snow Goose, mainly because of Sytho but also because it is an old song I loved so ofc had to play it. - Song that Might Play when you Fight Sans, honestly didn't knew about its farmable nature until after playing, mainly did because eee Sans. - Brazil, a mix of farming and just the song lol
