Thank you yy jacobson for not fearing to talk the truth! I was raped as a young girl, I believe that the place where I am today, is only because hashem gave me strength through my hardships to seek the truth! I found hashem on the har habayit! I feel so much happiness, fulfillment, love and joy from hashem! I couldn't imagine my life being any better ( I hope and pray for a geula shleima, so all the Jews should feel and see hashem's greatness!)

I was abused by my father as a child and none of my family believe me thankfully he is no longer alive and therefore I find the healing easier because I no longer have to see him but the pain of having to keep it inside myself is so great almost as the abuse itself I pray to hashem that I should let go of the past and move forward in my avodas hashem with brochoh vahatzlochoh

As a community we can't remain silent. Every child deserves to be safe, seen and heard. Every victim deserves to heal.
In my healing journey my rage and anger towards perpetrators is slowly turning to compassion and prayer. G-d loves each person regardless of how far they go. And he waits and accepts the return through the process of teshuvah. For the victims out there, may you find the capacity to heal, you deserve to be freed from the shackles of pain, depression, unworthiness and any defense mechanisms you've taken on to survive. And for any perpetrators out there.....its time you heal, from the drive to perpetrate, its time you face your struggles and turn that drive to a positive outlet. Its time you protect yourself, and your future victims by putting mechanisms in place to ensure that you don't hurt another human being. And its time you heal your wounds so that you can face yourself, you can apologize to your victims if confronted and assure them that you have repented and mended your ways. Because a victims primary concern and solace is knowing that their perpetrator is not hurting others. So you owe this process to your victims and more importantly to yourself.

    • @priyanka5316
      @priyanka5316 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sadly, for some reason this sin is almost never repented of. Why is that? The perpetrators even use sympathy to commit more abuse. I think, like Pharaoh, the sin of abusing children sexually comes from a very hardened heart. A person has to cross many lines to get to the point where they can do that, and by the time they can commit such a terrible deed they have hardened their heart to the point where they are like an addict. They have to use a lot of deceit, they have to be willing to hurt the children of parents they are close to in the community and to knowingly cause that child deep psychological and physical harm, they have to use hospitality, positions of trust and cunning to commit the deeds they do. These acts do not happen spontaneously, and the perpetrator knows they are doing something very evil, but they've convinced themselves that their lusts are more important than anyone elses' well-being. They've willingly given up self-control. The focus needs to be on preventing further abuse and helping the victims. Perpetrators must face consequences and use that-if they choose-to turn to HaShem for healing. Only HaShem can heal such a corrupted heart. Sure, you should forgive, but forgiveness means cancelling the debt they owe for the harm they've done, not looking to them or letting yourself live in bitterness and anger. You give them to Hashem in your heart. Our compassion for them only encourages them to keep feeling sorry for themselves, which they are already pretty good at. People who commit these things have already told themselves they aren't responsible, its not their fault. Let HaShem handle them.

It also concerns me how many teachers and principals kept quiet when victims had the courage to tell the truth. On discussion with a friend who is a teacher, she did confirm that when she had her own concerns about a pupil her principal negated the issue. Many leaders in our community are more concerned with the competition with other institutions and not the individual.

Thanks to HaShem blessed is He, I found out by researching, but HaShem revealed to me first about my ancestry. Ever since then, now about 12 years ago, I have been trying to learn. That if any adult told us to go with them, unless she had told us before that so and so was to pick us up, we should go with no one. If a teacher wanted to talk to us after class in private, we had to tell him or her that we would do in the school office but not alone in the classroom. If we went to any therapy she would always stay around.
She used to work as a volunteer in a children's hospital and was exposed to the horrors of child abuse. Sadly there are very evil people and we should teach our kids to sense when someone wants to harm them, or give them the what to do to not fall into this type of situations. And yes, tell them that they can always tell you if someone is harassing them. Hope this is helpful.

How does one explain the rabbis who personally endorsed him?

    • @Star-qh5wp
      @Star-qh5wp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

They obviously didn’t know. It’s not like he told them what he is doing and the cover he presented didn’t show any signs of deciet. They knew him personally but not his demons and if not the victim’s stepping forward neither would anyone else have an idea. Regardless of his personal endorsements it’s the parents job to make sure thier child isn’t alone with someone. It’s also that parents need to learn not to trust anyone even if they have a good reputation to be alone with their kids. If he needs to talk to a child because of a story let the parents go along or make sure someone else will be present. I don’t agree with graphic descriptions to a child to protect him. I do agree with generally saying and enforcing that a child not be alone with an adult in a room and not accept any goodies or treats from an adult. To tell their parents if anyone tries to get them to go along with them or offers them treats. And then confront that person with hey! I’m aware and I don’t approve. Please back off. Because sometimes it may be innocent but better safe than sorry. If a perpetrator knows parents are present involved and aware they do not target those children. The best protection therefore as parents is to be close to your kids and involved and have a strong home. Your child should know about strangers even if they have all the religious signs and are respected people.

Thank you for this......I think it would be hard for the victims and their families to see this as "good thing." I am going to quote a piece of a letter from a Passaic Rabbi and would like a response, if possible. "Rav Shmuel Eliyahu, Chief Rav of Tzfas, went personally and spoke privately to CW and pleaded with him to stop his pernicious ways. CW responded with intimidation and threats.
The Gaon HaRav Yehudah Moshe Silman - the head of the most respected Beis Din in Israel, the Beis Din of Rav Nissim Karelitz Zt”L, teamed up with Rav Eliyahu, and he also pleaded with CW to cease and desist. His pleas fell on deaf ears." How is this good? Why are these Ravs not held accountable? Why did they not go to the authorities immediately? How can you hold such titles and let this happen? They pleaded with him to stop? Seriously? This is so upsetting. I'm sorry but they bear some responsibility. I was shocked to read this and even more shocked that others aren't saying anything about this. (Unless I haven't seen) If rape is akin to murder, then absolutely the police should have been brought in. "CW was spoken to multiple times in attempts to avoid a public Chilul Hashem." Too late for that - and these Ravs just made it worse. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. The community should have much higher standards for its leaders.

    I have a question…
Right now it’s not לתועלת to know if and what happened, cuz he can’t harm anyone anymore.
If he hurt anyone, my heart goes out to them!
But I don’t think that the way it was dealt with was right.
An article , recording of conversation etc… I think it should’ve been dealt with police, courts, something real and then if they think he’s dangerous, then post to stay away..
If a person sined and cheated , even though it’s really horrible! They don’t get thrown from work and community, their marriage usually falls apart… here, he lost everything. I think he did a lot of good to ppl. I’ve heard from ppl that were in his camp how much he cared for each kid, and if they got bullied by others he helped them. He did have good qualities… it’s so sad to hear the he fell so bad…
Rav Edelstein said that he was murdered. He said that המלבין פני חברו ברבים אין לו חלק לעולם הבא, and that what he did he does.
I don’t know what to think.
    Who to listen to anymore.
    It’s גדולי הדור.
What am I supposed to do? Am I wrong?
    Everything is so confusing 😥

If I may, did you know that out of every 1000 sexual abusers, 975 walk free?
310/1000 are reported to the police
50 of those reports lead to arrest
28 of those result in a felony conviction
and only 25 are sent to jail.
Does that change your perspective on police and courts?
Also, keep in mind that beis din did convict him and the police were notified and were beginning their investigation.
He didn’t allow that to continue.
22 individuals came forward, many of who were assaulted as children.
You also why they didn’t come out earlier? Imagine you were abused by a popular community leader when you were 12. Would you tell your parents? Would they even believe you? Would you tell anyone after he had groomed you and convinced you of the harm that would be caused by you telling anyone?
He is guilty. And us staying silent gives him underserved rest. We need to wipe out the abusers from this culture and we need to stand up for the victims.
You ask about Rabbi Edelstein, I assume he doesn’t know the full story and when he does he will retract his words, assuming he’s actually a gadol.

This is the best we can do, now we need to focus on the victims. Case closed.

Rabbi YY is not commenting on this painful story for "popularity," but because he feels it is a terrible thing for a perpetrator to be given more understanding than his victims. People are acting as if the victims were the ones who harmed the immoral rabbi, and not the rabbi himself with his bad behavior. Rabbi YY knows it is very hurtful for other victims to witness such harassment of victims, and makes it less likely that victims will speak out, so Rabbi YY is speaking out in hope of encouraging people to stop acting like a cover up would have been more helpful.

The private discussion between YY and that woman at the end was the most powerful part! Wow!
That is exactly where the tension, shame and pain is in real life.
The threat not to tell- or else- the pressure to cover up your experience so that, “ you” don’t “ruin”the life of the perpetrator- a person who who is well- respected and honored.
It’s distorted thinking , as Rabbi YY mentioned- 22 women lying? Or immense pressure to avoid the very uncomfortable Truth?
This willingness to overlook the “ flaws” of powerful people is so intense.
The base Truth is that the person who harmed the children is responsible for, not only “ruining” their own life- but creating pain confusion and shame in so many others lives.
I commend YY for being Brave. It’s extremely difficult to be in the position he is in to face this very uncomfortable subject.
I understand that the families of the perpetrators suffer greatly as well, but it is part of the collateral damage of the acts that Hashem condemns- because of all the pain it causes.
Brave talk and I thank each one of you who had the courage to listen and to feel.
We must provide some way for those struggling with thoughts of offending to have a safe place to talk about it before they act on it.
Prevention starts with facing this ugliness. Well done.
To each one who was able to get through this discussion, with all of the triggers in ourselves it brings up- I thank- you and know that more darkness was replaced with Light in our beings because we were willing to be present before Hashem with this pain.
May you each experience more freedom and healing because of your willingness to see.

And taking it on TV, and on a פרייע magazine, this is the way of Torah?????, its a shame, I'm embarrassed, that there's so called רע-בנים, with this way of life, we all know, that the news reporter, was walders biggest שונא,
So pls, before you talk, make some research, and don't copy paste the media, I know that people that are doing wrong, needs to be hald down, but it doesn't make sense few things, where whare they till now?, and if they're afraid of שידוכים, why didn't the girl that comited suicide this week, come up in front of people, she was פריי with pantz, she wouldn't have any problem of שידוכים??,
    Anyway lots of hatzlucha,
And before you talk, pls make sure to go over every detail, you should not be considered as one of the רע-בנים, that are paskening shalos with their feelings and not with the Torah.
