Giirrllll, you say you are not fashionable but everything you showed us was super fashionable and looked great! I love the outfit you made with the mid-drift but as everyone else have said although you looked absolutely beautiful its not very professional to show mid-drift. I am also in love with your closet, can never go wrong with Zara its one of my fave shop especially if its thrift Zara. Thank you for spending so long on a packing video for us. I hope you made it to the Bahama safely. You are such an inspiration and ray of light, please never stop making videos! (unless you are tired of making them and burned out, cus your health and interest comes first.) Cruises really should pay you to recruit and do their marketing lol
Old retired granny here.... Child, if you want to appear as beautiful as you are, have a professional dress you. It's worth it. The orange top and the red print dress were the best looking pieces I saw. Wear blazers, different weight with accessories. The key is coloring and comfort. Have the happiest of trips! Blessings...
I would use some of the crop tanks under your low cut dresses to reduce the cleavage and make them more professional. You are correct that bare midriffs are not “professional”. I would error on the side of “too professional” rather than under dressed, especially when you are headed to a new company. If you are in the Caribbean, I assume you will port in Florida, and have the opportunity to fill in any gaps as needed.
@@Twelvefourtysevenyou obviously haven't worked in a more managerial and professional job. Flaunting your body is not something that goes in the same sentence with professional attire.
5:15 the black and orange looks wonderful I think it would look just as well with white or red. 6:04 excellent choice. 6:52 I would say stay away from showing mid section 7:40 for a casual stroll probably but I'm not really feeling it for work.
midrifts are unprofessional. I love the green skirt and trousers you could pair them with white/black tops. The dress you said looks maternal isn't professional and you were right. :)
I m a male and sometimes I have problems with my feet. You have to go for comfort, especially if you will be on your feet most of the time! I say espadrilles! Nothing goes right if your shoes are too tight! And you are beautiful! Best wishes on your latest venture!
I'd hazard a guess that you're going to work in Entertainment/ Deputy Cruise Director role if you're packing your own businesses attire. This fashion choice makes me think of Princess Entertainment team. They were always dressed immaculately in smart casual dinner jackets or dresses.
After years of working in a professional office, skirts, and tops are great to mix and match. We used to say watch the 3 B's boobs, bellies and butts, none should show if you want to loom professional. You can dress anything up and make it look different with a scarf , blazer or sweater so you can rotate a shirt, skirt, blazer, scarf, sweater and have many different looks
For the shoes i would say take something that's comfy you could always pick something up on the ship if you really have to but you definitely don't want to be doing orientation in something uncomfortable
Definitely no midriff on show. As a nurse when I was first in a non-uniform role, I was given the advice to think of whether I’d be happy receiving bad news from someone dressed in that outfit. If no, then don’t wear it. I agree if you feel comfortable you will look better.
It is possible for a tailor to take the dress you like that fits well, take it apart(gently), and create a pattern for the dress and make new dresses from that same pattern. As long as they use a similar fabric in terms of composition, you should get the same drape and movement of the original piece. And obviously they should sew the original back together. It would be rude if they didn't. Hope this helps.
Agree with other comments- midriffs are verboten - at least in American law firms and traditional corporate offoces. 🤷🏻♀️Honestly you will probably get into a routine and find 5-6 outfit formulas you are comfortable in and mix, match and rotate! My only thoughts on light colored clothing is that things happen, pen ink leaks, coffee spills, I always have an extra outfit in my office - but you work on a ship, so probably not as much as an issue as you live on the ship as well. Safe travels and I look forward to updates!!!
Just went on a two week river cruise and used some of your advice from previous packing videos. Rolling the clothes really helped keep the wrinkles at bay. I hope this contract works out fantastically.
Oh, you're going to make us wait to see what company your next journey will be with. No matter best of luck, I love cruising in the Caribbean, have fun in the sun.
I am probably not the person to ask for fashion advice. Let us hope some of what my wife tried to teach me took root. @13:08 The green purse and shoes would match nicely with the green pleated skirt. Something my wife taught me. The beige, (cream) colored shoes would go with the dress at 5:20.
I've never been accused of being a fashion expert, but that black dress with the butterflies was the one I thought looked best on you even though you didn't seem to like the look.
So exiting 🥰 I would skip the crop tops, midriff are unprofessional. I would probably have some broader shoulders covered, and not showing so much of your blessed front parts 😉I am blessed in that apartment myself, and always cover more up for work or other more professional things. Looking forward to the continuing 🥰 Love from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
My opinion I would take your favorite outfits, when you are wearing something you like your pleasant personality will shine through. Also once you start you will have time to go shopping on land to fine tune your wardrobe!🥰 Best of luck! Wish I could be there to cheer you on.
The white dress is professional. I don’t think a midriff is professional but I’m extremely conservative. Most of the other dresses are professional but for a low cut dress I would wear a tank especially the lowest cut one. I would go for comfortable with shoe. It still looks great. The other pair you need to wait until there totally broken in.
Most of what you tried on was professional and looked good. only thing I"d say no to being professional is the crop tops. LIKE you said what is most important is you feeling comfortable in what you are wearing.
Lucy, you're a blast! We Love Ya! 😀 You obviously know that by the time we see this video, you've not only already chosen your clothes and packed, but you're already in Bahamas working/training! So, I guess the best we can do is give you our input on the big questions, yes? And, ironically, I've been told a have decent "taste"....So, here ya' go! 1- Midriff = not professional....sorry. 2- All your dresses / outfits look fine (and professional), just be a bit conscience of showing too much cleavage with short or low-cut tops (especially if being "professional" around other women). And, yes we all love your favorite (white, pink-print) dress! 3- Espadrilles are fine....yes, they're professional, especially in tropical climates! (and hopefully you'll find some Louboutin's to go with your Bulgari bag?) 4- Over all, I'm a fan of bright colors and showing your style and individuality, so go for it! Good luck and Fair Winds on your new adventure, sweetie! :) P.S. It still feels odd to say "Thanks again for another fun video", when this is just a "packing video", but this is where it's easy to see your genuine and happy self (anyone can seem happy watching a sunset over the ocean, or swimming over vibrant coral reefs, but it takes a genuine happy person to spend 4+ hours making a packing video and make it fun!) Wow....I need to shut up now, huh? 😀
Hi Lucy, nice to watch your videos. Have you talked about power supplies on the ship for your stuff, since you probably have people from all over the world working there. Or do you carry a bunch of adapters?
Lucy can speak of the power outlets in crew cabins, but in passenger cabins most ships have US 110-120 volt AC power outlets (I think P&O is the only major cruise line that doesn't, and they have British/UK 230v outlets only)....and some ships have both US 110-120 volt outlets AND EU/Continental 230 volt outlets. BUT... But, be aware that due to some stateroom fires on-board a couple US-flagged container ships (as well as many other close calls and serious safety issues) caused by "surge protection devices"...and other issues with other power supplies and power strips....the US Coast Guard issued safety alerts, etc., so most (all ?) cruise line prohibit ALL power strips, surge protectors, extension cords, uninterruptible power supplies, etc. from their ships, and that means ALL crew and passengers! PLEASE leave all your such devices at home, and just charge one device at a time from one outlet! A fire on-board is extremely serious and can kill very quickly! I hope this help?
I'm so happy that you're getting through with everything. I'm still waiting for confirmation on my own cruise contract, but is great to see you getting back into swing of things. Really excited for more updates 🎉❤
Hey Lucy! I love your outfits. Sadly, I do not think a midriff is professional but you can definitely make that skirt work with a nice top! Good luck on your new contract! You will be fabulous in your new role!
Yeah, if jeans are a no go I am going to say that mid-drift is a no. However, the green skirt/pants were both cure with the mini tank and blazer and you look amazing!
Depending on how long the cruise turnaround time is you could have an outfit for each day of the week & repeat.... That way you don't have to think about it you just get up get dressed in the Monday outfit etc then you wash it and start all over the next week
Hi Lucy, All my best wishes for you for your 10th contract! Regarding the outfits, You look great in all outfits. The first top would be too much for me and the top at 7:11 as well. I hope Your travel went smooth this time. Best regards, Ralf
I feel like your going to work with Diamond International 🤩 so excited for you! I fellow officer of mine is currently working with DI and she’s having a blast 😊 I wish you all the best and, who knows, maybe I’ll meet you one day 🤞🏻 in regards with the outfits, you look incredible in all of them but I’m not a fashion expert so couldn’t recommend anything 😅
As others have said, midriff is definitely not considered professional and I would be careful with some of the tops that show cleavage as well. Of course, it depends on the job but generally “professional” is fairly conservative!
@cruiseasacrew …. Lucy, can you address the dreaded word bed bugs. How often does it happen? What is the procedure in the ship? I brought them home once from the airplane. What a NIGHTMARE 😢! Since then I have thrown on my black and dark luggage away, and only use light colors with light zippers so that they can be seen quickly. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Mahalo!
Hi Lucy, Dresses and shoes are great for any middle or senior management position on a cruise ship. The colors and design you have chosen are perfect. Just wondering which band backpack you are using. It looks so big and you have managed to manage a lot of stuff in it.
I have never been happier to be a man as to watch you try and pick out clothes to wear to work. As a guy it’s five pairs of dress pants, and three light blue shirts in different shades, two solid white, a solid dark blue, one gray, two pin stripped blue, one pin stripped red, evenly split between regular and button down collared shirts. Three jackets and blazers. A couple of suits just in case. A dozen dress socks and two pairs of dress shoes so you can switch off every other day. Undershirts and such. A couple t-shirts, shorts, sweat pants and tops for the gym. A swim suit. A couple pairs of kicks for off times. That’s pretty much the list. I could pack in about ten minutes.
Since she’s going to work on board she will be taking into consideration several months of cruising. A passenger only considers their itinerary (4,5,7,plus days) and that’s it.
Good luck with the new job. Personally I feel showing too much skin isn’t very professional. Don’t you have any cruise friends in a similar job rank that you could get advice from?

Yay to dresses and espadrilles- Nay to midriffs. Loved the Bahama sunset video last night. Congratulations and only good wishes on your new job.
