I think I made this comment on Josh's Twitch once and no one cared, so I've come to this comment section for validation. Has no one noticed that the color scheme for 4x bonus squares doesn't make sense? They shouldn't both be purple at all. The color scheme is: light red (pink) = 2WS, red = 3WS; light blue = 2LS, blue = 3LS. It should **not** be light purple = 4LS, purple = 4WS. It should be dark red = 4WS, dark blue = 4LS. To spell this out: red=word, blue=letter; light=2x, medium=3x. It should be dark=4x. I have spoken.
I can definitely get behind this. Multiple times I struggled to tell the difference between the medium purple and dark purple with the current color scheme
I wish there were giant scrabble tournaments at the elite level. Would it be feasible to have a ten person invitational round robin with three games per day? This works quite well in professional chess and would seemingly be good for tv. With 2 hour games and only 5 boards, it would easy to hop to different games. The recap videos would also get tons of views.
Totally fair -- I cropped it out since I wanted to make the screen smaller to account for the board tiles being a lot smaller in giant scrabble. But several folks have said the same thing so I'll add the analysis back next time I do it!
Good idea Mack Meller. But I hope you've studied your 21 letter words. Is it even possible for them to be valid? I'd like you to put UNEXCEPTIONABLENESSES in a sentence, if you can. FORMYLPHENYLHYDRAZIDE is theoretically decent, if it doesn't get blocked. Is possible for it to amount to 5112 points. But it would likely have to be in a Clabbers game.
@@Goryus It looks acceptablenesses* on its own without being pluralalised. I'd also be interested in a version of Scrabble where you are given random tiles that always form a bingo. Regardless of how long it is. If you don't play it, you lose your turn. It would be doable via online. But OTB would be awkwards* to say the LEAZED. Please do more of these, Mack. Maybe even a Clabbers version, where you've always got at least one blank on your rack. I recall playing a Scrabble variant years ago where you could make any tile a blank. IE you could turn a bogus G or V into anything, by placing it upside down on the board.
I've tried in Quackle, but unfortunately even though it says it allows it it completely glitches when you try to play the game. If there's a way around it I'd love to try an oblong board though!
@@Splax77 Sort of… I cropped the aspect ratio to try to make the board seem a little bigger since giant scrabble reduces the square size. But I admittedly didn’t realize/forgot that the analysis would be cropped as a result. Not sure which downside is worse, open to feedback! At least I still discuss the candidate plays so hopefully you still got something out of the postgame without seeing the list of plays.
I've tried it, letters appear too small making it hard to find words to play without getting my head really close to the computer and potentially risking brain damage due to radiation.
You'll be pleased to learn that electronics do not emit any form of ionising radiation and are therefore harmless. Visible light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, and the terminology often leads to confusion, but all it is is an oscillating electromagnetic field, which is harmless for visible light, as the energy of the photons is very low. There is also no radioactive material present, which people also get confused with. The only thing to be aware of is neck and eye strain, but screen magnification software is also available.
My brain really wants me to see that board as a sphere

i was thinking the same during the video!!

10 min Giant feels like 3 mins blitz pace. There is so much to look at every turn.
The leafblowers have "blessed" this video. Funny stuff in that endgame with the potential QZ draw
Ngl, GOONERIES into DESEX had me audibly chuckle.
Love the way Mack has been giving us a treat this week❤
Absolutely love Giant Scrabble!
Don’t worry. I couldn’t hear the leaf blowers because there were already leaf blowers outside my house the whole time I was watching the video.
No one LEAVES us alone this time of year!
16:42 secondee is nuts 😂

We need a complication of Mack moments like this 5:00
You’re crazy good.
Thanks!
youtube short of the leaf blowers blowing leaves to one property and other leaf blowers blowing leaves back
Haha it's starting to dwindle a little (finally) but if I catch it maybe I'll try to get a clip with my phone
Fun vid but it definitely loses something not being able to see the list of plays in the analysis.

Many saw them as boring people, but it was their unexceptionablenesses that made them remarkable.

How hard is it to modify the board to not be square?

@@mackmeller Can you make a custom tile that is impassable, then arrange those on the edges of a square board?
5:39 Would you say the bot reopened the board?
Haha well played
You cropped out the analysis, was that intentional?

@@mackmeller The video has black bars on a 16:9 screen, so you could include the analysis without making the board smaller.
25:39 close to ARAPAIMA!
Anyone know what that shape that flashes for a few frames a couple times around 7:20 is?
That's my cursor, usually I turn that off but I must've forgotten here, oops!

@@sammygeez. interesting. not sure whether to believe you since you're just a complete stranger and perhaps (no offense) an idiot.
@@sammygeez. the paragraph was really well written tho so kudos on that
@@sammygeez. I like you. You try to educate people in TH-cam comments. Commendable, but unfortunately often hopeless.
15 min will be more fun prob.
Your description of leaf blowing reminds me of this Charlie Chaplin classic:
