Huge continuity mistake with Daniel's age, yet we wouldn't know it at the time. (No spoilers of future stories.). Eleanor says he's 14, but in an episode which aired almost exactly a year to the day later he's 17. The reason I noticed is because I've been watching episodes in a somewhat random order, and just happened to see that one a few days ago. He ages three years in almost exactly a year. It can't be explained by fictional time in Brookside passing quicker that in reality, because elements within other stories will definitely mark that only a year passed within the show between the two episodes.
The writers were really good at planning ahead and planting seeds for future storylines. I wonder if they already had all this planned back when Ron was warning her about it.
When christians mother arrives it makes you realize why he is the way he is. His mother is hardly complimentary towards him. I wouldent call it abuse but she certaintly doesnt treat him in the right way. Maybe that is way he treats Rachel so bad. Sometimes abuse can follow in familes. Hence his treatment of rachel.
It's remarkable how, in soaps, whenever a female character dyes her hair it suddenly becomes her genetic colour; Eleanor was originally a brunette, then as soon as she turns blonde her long-lost daughter Louise turns up and she happens to be blonde. Jacqui Dixon was blonde then suddenly turns reddish-brown, then her long-lost half-sister Megan turns up and *she's* reddish-brown.
