Am I only one who thinks that prequels are underrated? Yep, I know that prequels weren't as great as classic trilogy but I enjoyed prequels and they did great job to show us how powerful and wise Palpatine is
Paladinfox, because the characters were so wooden and they were paced like Wikipedia articles. The overarching story was interesting, but they were told in about the least engaging way possible.
People hate the prequels because the Internet told them to. People are lemmings, or Womp rats rather. The only problem with the prequels is some of the lines are a bit hokey and some of the younger actors were pretty bad. 90% of the expanded universe from 1998 til Disney bought Lucasfilm were based on the prequels or earlier.
I actually enjoyed the prequels more, it had more jedi lore, introduced awsome characters such as mace windu, qui-gon, and was essentially a movie about the rise of the sith Darth Vader.
RainbroThrash I'm pretty sure they had to have gotten permission to even do this, especially to now be signed by a record. No one would fuck with Disney if there were legal repercussions for using one of their trademarks without a cut. If they did go around Disney I'd be surprised.
If I'm not mistaken, under the law they can record another composer's composition without permission but must pay a certain royalty fee based on sales & revenues etc. The legal idea that governs this is called "mechanical license." Had to research this same question for business reasons at one time.
+Rasp Absolutely not. That isn't how copyright works at all. This specific recording of this song is property of Rise Records/maybe the band (but they recorded this with funding from Rise, so probably not). The original composition/song is a copyright of LucasFilm/Disney since they paid John Williams to compose it for them, thus buying him out of his rights. The idea is that you can pay for a license that grants you permission to record any song you want, but only if the publisher of the song allows it (over 90% do). So Rise Records paid the licensing fee to Disney/Disney's music publishing branch which granted them permission to record this album. This isn't "copyright free." The recorded song's copyright belongs to Rise Records (and Galactic Empire?), whereas the original song's publishing rights, print rights (forms of copyright) and overall ownership belongs solely to Disney. TL;DR - This mp3 of the song = copyright RISE RECORDS. The song itself = copyright DISNEY.

@@CalumHGaming I picture it being like this: Obi-Wan: "It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!" Anakin: "Bullshit! Maul had the high ground and he still lost!" Obi-Wan: "True, but unlike Maul, I'm not going to stand still like an idiot!"

I believe it's Grant Macfarland ex-This or the Apocalypse drummer. Check his set. Grant is coincidentally friends with Matt Greiner of August Burns Red.
It actually works. I opened this up and opened a new tab with the Maul battle and played them at the same time. They don’t quite sync up properly but it still sounds awesome. Made that scene ten times better.
Anyone, who is a user of the Light Side of the Force shall cower in fear. The Dark Side will win, cause we users of the Dark Side of the Force aren't afraid of our emotions, from the heights of joy to the depths of despair and hatred, we only see other people as nothing more than tools to evaluate ourselves. We are invincible, powerful, majestic and selfconfident. We are the Sith, Descendants of Lord Darth Bane, whi forged the Rule of the Two. A master and his apprentice.
Hi Galactic Empire, just want to say I'm a huge fan of your music! :) It stays true to the original soundtrack by John Williams, and yet it's so refreshing to listen to a rock version of the classic Star Wars themes. May I know if you'll be doing covers of songs from the Expanded Universe (such as Vode An, the Star Wars: The Old Republic main theme, Darth Revan's theme etc) or even a medley? Or perhaps even music from the TV shows, like Ahsoka's theme or the music from Star Wars Rebels? I can imagine it would be amazing! Anyway, keep up the good work and may the Force be with you!
Took me a while to find a metal cover of this that wasn't just draining all of the epic from the song. I should have just started with galactic empire. Please forgive me my masters

I've heard this somewhere. I think some movie stole your song.
Chris Luna yeah I think it's called the star trek
Wasn this the soundtrack to the fight between Gandalf and Dr Who in Skyrim: The Deathly Hallows?
Chris Luna sounds to me like a song from the video game BlazBlue.
And they also made a jazz version for the fight of Ragnar vs. Superman in The Two Towers. \m/
