- Installing the HSR 42 Mikuni Carbs on the 1974 MGB GT
And rambling, lots of rambling.
I've done a carb install before on my truck, but that was just swapping the carb on the manifold.
What wasn't shown on this install was the work on the intake manifold that I filled parts with JB weld and ported out with a foredom. There are enough videos out there I think of porting and polishing that I didn't think it would be worth it for me to go in to that.

Awesome video! Are these carbs better than the weber dcoe and the SU hs4 and 6?
Better can be a bit subjective, but they are definitely easy to tune and sync up. The action on them is super crisp and responsive.
There's further info out there on flat vs round and butterfly type throttle. I used to do a bit of work on scooters so I'm a fan of the flat side. That they adapt nicely to the MGB is a treat.

Yep many times. I wish I had a before to play as well. I'll go get some video of it running today or tomorrow. I still need to fab up an additional return spring to snap that throttle back closed. Just so the carbs aren't doing all the work on their lonesome.
That is cool dude! Mikunis are hot little ticket for sure.
You can even ad a small turbo to them if you wanted to.
Oh yeah? That's pretty cool. Long term we're looking at a rover V8 for this. It's the girlfriend's car though so ultimately she commands the decisions done on it =D I just abide.
