The startup success rate would probably be something much higher if this video was mandatory viewing for all first time founders. Incredible stuff. Infinite gratitude.

If you ever in YC then do not complain about how hard life is. Imagine having these guys to talk to all day? Making things easier for the lucky ones in YC.

On attachment styles, related to the last question, someone can, indeed, become "acquired secure." Meaning they didn't grow up that way but learned it as an adult. Also, there are 4 attachment styles actually: the fourth is Anxious-Avoidant or Disorganized Attachment. It sounds paradoxical and is. Sometimes the result of abusive parents where the person both received love and abuse from the same person as a child. The book Attachment Effect is a great read on Attachment styles in general.
This talk is just what I needed this week. Perfect timing.

Don't forget as well that people change and their needs too in the span of 10 years. Are they able to learn to adapt and share with you when they feel they needs have changed? they want family, etc.

Is there empirical evidence this works? The time and effort needed to deal with this level of touch seems resource consuming beyond benefit at least at first glance to me. I feel like if there is sufficient professionalism much of this is not needed. Then again I am a solo founder so mountain of salt on my words
