I was looking forward to seeing a defensive trio in Deni, bilal and sarr but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. If they don’t move Kuzma this off season that’s when I’m gonna have to start questioning the front office.

  • @maormeltzer4969

    BScott, thanks and best wishes!
My gut feeling is that the front office didn't get the value they wanted for Kuzma and Tyus (maybe can't find a S&T), and were very determined to stock up as much draft assets as possible.
Offers on Deni were probably better so they pulled the trigger on the Portland one.
I think that where it hurts the most as a fan is that again the franchise don't hold home grown talent.

Avidja scoring efficiency 0.56: Kuzma 0.50: Poole 0.49: Kispert 0.60.
That’s why Deni was moved. He can get more draft picks than the other players. Kispert 0.60 scoring efficiency, he will be the next to go

Getting 2 firsts, 2 seconds and an expiring contract for Deni "we could have had Halliburton!" Avdija is something you have to do, regardless of timing. It's like telling one of your kids not to get married until the older sibling is still single. I have issues with the third pick-- Dadiet was still on the board, and with Bilal and Sarr, could have been a great recruiting committee for a Wemby free agent visit.

Thank you Brandon and Ed, for really fantastic podcasts! Done from the heart, with knowledge and true love of basketball and the wizards. I think you had a group of devoted viewers from Israel, and we will have now to see if there is such thing as "Locked on Trailblazers"?
Best of luck, you are really doing something good! Always friendly and knowledgeable. The fact that I sometimes listened to your live podcasts at 2-3-4 a.m local time speaks volumes about your content. All the best to you and the Wizards next year.

The Wizards' management publicly stated that they wanted a second lottery pick, consequently it should come as no surprise that a trade actually occurred on draft night. Simultaneously, though not publicly stated, they must have considered using this trade opportunity to dig into the minutes and shots that would normally belong to the forward position and allocate them to Billal's as well as this year's rookie draft picks future development. As a result, it is not surprising that either Kuz or Deni were the most likely to go.
I believe that shortly after management began looking into trade options, it became apparent for various reasons how much the current NBA market values Deni over Kuz, who may not have the true demand as advertised, which is why Deni ended up being the one who was eventually moved.

I woke up in the morning in disbelief. A terrible mistake. I don't understand this club at all.
We sat and watched this year's playoffs reach the finals - the names of Wizards players who were with them were Gaffort and Poringis. Playing Games in the finals and are important players in games throughout the playoffs.
Who gave them up? Why ? Have you decided to build a group? For what year 2030? .
The Story is not Dani but in general this club that has such fans and have no say. In Europe it's not like that, . Thanks for the broadcasts.

Porzingis? He missed several regular season games & most of the playoffs. If he were on the Wizards & not the Celtics they would rely on him more & very likely he misses even more games. I am fine with moving on from him & other vets
This team should be built for the future & not the present. They need to trade away even more vets to build for the future. You can't judge anything for at least a few years. As a fan that is tough, but it is the rt approach. I am also glad that fans don't have a say - leave it to the folks who do it for a living - hopefully they are taking the rt approach long term - time will tell.
