This video gives me a new idea of chess varient tournament : the serial killer tournament Each players gets 3 lives when they enter the tournament. They play this chess games against each other, applying these rules 1. Every 3 moves, a random piece from each side dies 2. Additional to rule 1, Every 6 moves, you toss a coin. Heads, then each player chooses one piece to be removed from their own side Tails, then each player chooses one piece(not king) to be removed from their opponent's side 3. After 15 moves pass, any piece which is still on their starting square is removed. From that point, every 7 moves, any piece which didnt move during the last 7 moves are removed 4. For whatever reason, if your king is removed, you are considered lost at that move. After the games ends, the players get these rewards or punishments • Winning in 15 moves(winning by gas chamber or opponent king not moving at the end of 15th move counts) : 2 points • Winning, but not in 15 moves : 1 point • Draw : 1 warning for both sides. 2 warnings = lose 1 life • Losing, but not in 15 moves : lose 1 life • Losing in 15 moves : lose 2 lives Any player ran out of lives is eliminated, and after every 5 games, there is an extra elimination : • Whoever has the most points in the whole tournament : Win 2 extra lives(1 life if there are less than 20 remaining players) • Top 10% in points : Win 1 extra life • Bottom 50% in points : Lose 1 life • Bottom 30% in points : Lose 2 lives • Bottom 10% in points : Lose 3 lives • Whoever has the least points : Instant Elimination If you lose all lives, you are eliminated, and if only 2 players remain, the final game begins. All your lives and points will turn into 3 points each to buy pieces. You buy pieces within your converted points, and you play in a custom position each player sets with their own pieces.
