@Jayslifeoutloud it's difficult these days to find people you can work with but if you begin the process and you start making progress, they will show up
That makes sense but in a long run it will cost you more and can even put much pressure on you as the rent keeps increasing and you can't do much about it and in some cases some landlords can make your life a hell .... I will look for a half plot and start with a simple design and with time you will make progress
@@Gigo I actually think since the rent is in cedis and the exchange rate will always get worse, those who will be getting pension money from outside will end up paying less and less. And more houses for rent will result in oversupply.
@svennomore729 smart idea but it depends on where you renting, if you don't mind being in the locals ( an hour drive out of the city) then that's perfect 👍🏾 . In that case i will sign a 3-5 years contract so they don't increase the rent that much each year. But if it is within the city am sure they will also ask for dollars 😅
@@Gigo I have never signed more than one year lease agreement. That made the landlord have to work hard to keep me interested in renewing. Trust me, landlords don't want empty properties. It's a game, the renter needs to learn to play with them. You have the upper hand. I actually use monthly investment dividends from outside to pay my rent in Accra , so it's actually free living. I decided to put the house-building money in the stock market instead of building. Especially since I am there only part of the year. Not being a full resident outside or in Ghana, you reduce your income tax on your social security money outside.
It was a smart idea for the people to come together and build.
Unit over everything ,this way they control the community
@@Gigo so true, I just find it hard to get like minded people together.

I think it makes more sense to rent a house in Ghana than to build your own. You can change landlords anytime if the building starts falling apart

I just found out a builder for one of my projects used cheap pipes...I am not happy!
Sad to hear and the process of changing this pipes will even cost you more because of the damage
