Damn, almost every unit saying "let's go!" on top of each other every single time... I gotta say Dune 2000 takes the cake on the voice acting department. I also feel the "new construction options ARE NOW AVAILABLE" was unnecessary, just stick with the iconic "new construction options".
Westwood pretty much kept the same successful formula in their RTSes. Although it's still have its own identity and specific elements that makes its gameplay basically similar to any C&C game, but with enough tweaks to keep it different. I found the races having more differences between them than most other C&C kind of games. I also love this game :)
Hi There I recently bought the game from a contact overseas. You won't believe how smooth it runs on Windows 8. In my opinion it is a fantastic game. I love all of the Command and Conquer and Dune Games that Westwood Studios / EA Games (Strategy) released. Regards Gerann
God I've missed this game so much! Thank you for the link! I have the CD Version but lost one of the disks and been wanting to play this again. You Sir/Ma'am saved Me about two hours searching for it!
Do you know of any torrents for Dungeon Keeper 1 or metal Fatigue? Miss those good old games, too bad GOG doesn't have them. Thanks for that torrent link, does it work on windows 7?
You can order it from Amazon but won't run on Windows 10. I used to play this back then and loved it. I have one laptop with Windows 8.1 and it runs great except sometimes the little movie scenes stutter but the game sections run great. Could be my graphics card.
This is my favorite RTS when I was a kid. It still had concepts from Dune2k and its own elements taken from westwoods best. Dune2k was a zerg fest and you could also use that strat (obviously with any RTS). My favorite part with this game though was the alliances with Sardaukar, Guild, Tilaxu and Fremen. I mainly used the Fremen though. I would gather a large distraction force and build the sound cannon Fremen since they could stealth and blow up enemy buildings in an instant and restealth....Many fond memories of kicking my parents ass with that tactic.
this game has very high quality cutscenes, and this is based of off dune 2000 which was based on Dune 2, which was the first RTS, which is where Blizzard based warcraft's mechanics from, which is where SC was later based off on the mechanical side XD
QuickStrike0065 Where exactly did I mention Westwood? Sad though it be, Westwood, along with many other great developers (like THQ) is long gone. EA most likely owns the rights to this series now. So they'll be the one to make a new one (If they ever do).
>>"Theoretically any interested Developer could get a Dune license for a game." Unfortunately, no. The showstopper is that rights owner interested only in giving license in bundle with a movie, so it's highly unlikely that any new games in the Dune universe will happen (maybe it's for the good, since major publishers are now more interested in lootboxes than in actually good products) :-/
I actually tried a few times to move the screen with my mouse... but then I realised I am just watchin a video :D Games back then were outstanding. It was new, it was fresh, catchy, simple and yet complex but not too much.....
@brandon77091 That's because the same people made it. Sort of. Command & Conquer was originally owned and developed by Westwood Studios who also developed similar strategy games under the Dune franchise. I think this one came out a year or so after Red Alert 2. Before EA swallowed them up.
Dune II was the very first RTS. Warcraft was not released until 1994. :) Dune II ultimately paved the way for all other RTS games. My favourite RTS was Dune 2000, and the online play had me hooked instantly. This game was a mere shell of both its predecessors. In terms of the ultimate RTS though, you'd be hard pressed to argue that title probably belongs to Starcraft. Honestly though, I never could really get into the original and Starcraft II is already losing my interest. >.
@YorickMesch wow no really ....so the book, the rpg game dune 1, and rts dune 2 were there BEFORE starcraft 1 ? ''Wow that is ...a .. real...eyeopener...'' /end massive sarcasm quote
I usually built a freakin' farm of windtraps... Thanx for the upload. Oh, and lets go. Lets go - lets go - lets go - lets go - Yes sir? - Lets go - Lets go - Lets go - Structure ready to place - Training - Construction options are now available - yes sir? - lets go - lets go - lets go...
i played dune 2000 on ps one later on downloaded it for pc and its an amazing game then searched up more dune games i downloaded dune 2 and now im getting this one
I use to love playing dune 2000 when i was younger and i have also played command and conquer but for some reason i have only just found out about this game and i am now desperate to go buy it :L
@XFaCt0rSS hell yeah, I played dune 2 when it first came out and immediately was hooked then got Dune 2000 and was a highly ranked player online, good times...
Good times... I usually just went for ordos hover tanks for rapid hit and runs and the harkonnen devastators for when i just want to move and fire at everything in my way. The artreides minotaurus were not so great with the whole friendly fire theyre cannons always had. Bloody tornadoes... Still hate them
Great game single player but it was a pain to play online, especially co-op. The reason being the speed of the game was vastly increased without an option to set it back to normal. I still have the discs but they are in very poor condition. I hope one day GOG releases this game.
That was really cool strategy, not like a modern hi-graphics bullshit. Still remember, when i fences up labyrinth near mutants factory and played survival(my soldiers agains mutants). That was REALLY cool.
I always thought this game was graphically ahead of its time. For a 2001 RTS it looks outstanding, especially the lighting/shadows.
Imagine what Earth 2150 felt like a year before this...
I totally agree. They even did well producing that feel of the dune universe
I remember this game at the time, it was incredibly difficult to run on my friend's PC who ran q3 quite well at the time.
Its engine and mechanics was the basis for what would later become C&C Generals and the canceled C&C 3 Tiberian Incursion (Twilight)
Westwood forever
Yes sir, lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go, yes sir, lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go...
Damn, almost every unit saying "let's go!" on top of each other every single time... I gotta say Dune 2000 takes the cake on the voice acting department. I also feel the "new construction options ARE NOW AVAILABLE" was unnecessary, just stick with the iconic "new construction options".
I thought they also sometimes said "For the Duke!" but maybe that's only when attacking or something.
construction started
this game probably failed cause of 2 words... "Let's Go"
+Armand Human LLLett's Go!
Yes Sir.
yep the bad unit dialog will always be one of my complaints.
Sound’s good!
Still better than Command and Conquer 4 😂😂
That's being to light. this is a trillion times bad then half the shit ea ploped out.
"Yes sir?"
"Let's go let's go let's go let's go let's go let's go let's go"
"Where the fuck are we going?"
Unit lost
This was one of my all-time favorite games. Nice to see it haven't played it in a while.
Westwood pretty much kept the same successful formula in their RTSes. Although it's still have its own identity and specific elements that makes its gameplay basically similar to any C&C game, but with enough tweaks to keep it different.

This game was so good. I remember playing it for YEARS.
"FOR THE DUKE... BOOM"
I never managed to finish it, it does get really tough toward the last few missions.

I miss Westwood Studios so much :(
I really wish they still made these kind of game command and conquer preferably
They do. Check out the total war series.
I remember this game come with windows XP release. Very good game at its time
He who controls the spice... controls Dune!
nostalgia hits hard
Insufficent funds - that message keeps freaking you out ^_^
This game was my childhood.
Best. Audio. Effects. Ever.
Do you know of any torrents for Dungeon Keeper 1 or metal Fatigue? Miss those good old games, too bad GOG doesn't have them. Thanks for that torrent link, does it work on windows 7?
Damn this game was sweet for 2001!
@YorickMesch it's part of what inspired Starcraft aswell.
Soldiers/Vehicles: Let's Go. Dannoct1: Can you say anything different?
@krullithehero It lets you know all is well, like the blips on the Alien's motion tracker.
there was no such thing as attack move in this game for the units right ? I played it a loooong time ago..
Love this game. Glad to be able to play it again.
@mangkyou yes, but they are VERY different from dune. C&C is based on dune too, I think it was developped by the same people
Underrated game, the huge success of red alert 2 was the reason this game flew under the radar
Why did this game fail?
Can't wait for 2020 to play new Dune game
Did you get to run this game smoothly? I got low FPS and mouse delay.
Can you play this game on the latest windows operating system?
You can order it from Amazon but won't run on Windows 10. I used to play this back then and loved it. I have one laptop with Windows 8.1 and it runs great except sometimes the little movie scenes stutter but the game sections run great. Could be my graphics card.
The sand-shark used to scare the shit outta me, still does...
Shai hulud
Westwood really knew how to make RTS games. i miss that company so much >_

@vader8211 so was dune 2000...?
That literally has to be the cooloest MCV deployment animation ever!
lol u had to buy a carrier to get your harvester in dune 2000
the best rts ever, i love this game
i usally built a outpost asap so i know whats going on at my enemys base or when i its OK to make a 2nd base
@synantube Amen, But would you want EA to turn this into crap aswell ?
this game also has awesome soundtrack)
they don't make this anymore :( thru rts!
They should really make a new one. (without fucking it up like they did c&c)
QuickStrike0065 Where exactly did I mention Westwood? Sad though it be, Westwood, along with many other great developers (like THQ) is long gone. EA most likely owns the rights to this series now. So they'll be the one to make a new one (If they ever do).
It doesn't necessarily need to be EA who makes a new Dune RTS. Theoretically any interested Developer could get a Dune license for a game.

I'm still playing Dune 2000 Nostalgia ftw!
in dune 2 the laucnher´s missiles weren´t guided
I highly doubt that in either of those games you have giant worms trying to eat your harvesters and military units as they cross the desert.
So this is the brother of C&C red alert?
+Liam Kane "Grandfather"
I see
This was around when age of empires was about,, also theres a dune game on ps1 bk in its day
@YorickMesch wow no really ....so the book, the rpg game dune 1, and rts dune 2 were there BEFORE starcraft 1 ?
''Wow that is ...a .. real...eyeopener...''
/end massive sarcasm quote
HOW CAN I OBTAIN THIS GAME?
I usually built a freakin' farm of windtraps...
Thanx for the upload. Oh, and lets go. Lets go - lets go - lets go - lets go - Yes sir? - Lets go - Lets go - Lets go - Structure ready to place - Training - Construction options are now available - yes sir? - lets go - lets go - lets go...
GOG does have metal fatigue :D, dont know about dungeon keeper
I know this sounds "not true" but i was actually ranked #1 in the world back in 2001/2002, no joke. I miss this game so much.
I'd wish to play this game again!
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go... you get the idea let's go!
which year was this?
@RockfireEX fake version of red alert ?
How good is this game?
Yes sir.
what if westwood was still here, maybe they would have created a new sequels to these awesome rts
This is certainly alot faster paced than Dune 2000 :) Incredible game!
Wish they'd make a new Dune game.
Dune II, first rts I've ever played, and then Dune 2000 has best actor playing Atreides mentat Noree Moneo
does anyone know where I can download it for win7 64bit?
Gabriele Laurin piratebay :D
This sounds like Terran from Starcraft!??
Funny how in memory the graphics are awesome and epic.
i played dune 2000 on ps one later on downloaded it for pc and its an amazing game then searched up more dune games i downloaded dune 2 and now im getting this one
I use to love playing dune 2000 when i was younger and i have also played command and conquer but for some reason i have only just found out about this game and i am now desperate to go buy it :L

@XFaCt0rSS hell yeah, I played dune 2 when it first came out and immediately was hooked then got Dune 2000 and was a highly ranked player online, good times...
i miss playing this game
this gameplay looks so much better then C&C generals
Good times... I usually just went for ordos hover tanks for rapid hit and runs and the harkonnen devastators for when i just want to move and fire at everything in my way. The artreides minotaurus were not so great with the whole friendly fire theyre cannons always had. Bloody tornadoes... Still hate them
Yeah its a great game. 3 solid campaigns, a variety of submissions and a good multi-player online and off.
@YorickMesch yep and i use to love starcraft
Great game single player but it was a pain to play online, especially co-op. The reason being the speed of the game was vastly increased without an option to set it back to normal.
I still have the discs but they are in very poor condition. I hope one day GOG releases this game.
why the mechanics looks like Command and Conquer? I mean why they has to add the voice of construction.
Westwood made it (same studio that made C&C)
there should be a sequel to this
Screw it, I'm gonna try and get this game!
miss this game :((
this looks pretty damm amazing :o for a game from way back haha xD
great memories!
i normally build the barracks after the windtrap
That was really cool strategy, not like a modern hi-graphics bullshit.
Still remember, when i fences up labyrinth near mutants factory and played survival(my soldiers agains mutants). That was REALLY cool.
