    Supernatural guitar band which encouraged me more after being immersed in C.K. Mann's Asafoba Esson, Sweet Beans and Uncle Ebo Taylor during my early years

    Before the Black Chinese (Obuoba J. A Adofo) and his City Boys Band became pretenders to Nana Ampadu's "crown" as guitar band supremos, the Golden All Brothers Band was the biggest contender with some hit tunes like Yaa Boahemaa. They were the darling band of folks in Kwahu who gave African Brothers a stiff challenge. Although Kingsley Dankwa was the band leader and initially the lead vocalist for the early tunes like Ampem Darkoa and Yaa Boahemaa, the most consistent lead vocalist was a rhythm guitarist by name Kuma. Kuma was a very good lyricist with strong vocal quality. Unfortunately, the band was involved in an accident in the early 70s, and the cream of the band, including Kuma lost their lives. Dankwa sustained injuries, but is alive to this day. This album is a good tribute to a very good band that provided variety and enlivened guitar band music in their own style.

      May I ask you UncleMo77, whether you were a records vendor or dealer as it was then popularly tagged?

    • @UncleMo77
      @UncleMo77 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oseisiribuor4521 I was neither; just a lover of Ghanaian music who often latched himself to music kiosks around Accra to listen to good highlife music, especially that of the African Brothers Band and Ramblers Int. I was also an avid reader of newspapers about musical performances and musicians. Thirdly, I lived through the era of the rediffusion box (Kofi Adaka) listening to GBC 1 and it's contents including interludes of popular Ghanaian music and life stories.
      That's how I mostly know what I know about Ghana music. Otherwise, I am a chartered accountant in good standing.
