Beautiful Old Hymn - Are Ye Able, Said The Master

I hope you are all doing well and eagerly anticipating tomorrow's celebration! In the meantime, here is another beautiful old hymn to sing while we await Jesus' resurrection. When I encountered this hymn, I thought it was a perfect song for Good Friday/Holy Saturday to contemplate His crucifixion. In this hymn we are asked asked if we can truly follow Jesus: crucifixion, forgiveness, faith in resurrection... I know how weak I am: could I honestly say that I would agree to go to the cross? Could you? I can barely manage a bad headache! Let's consider these questions while we sing this beautiful hymn today. 🌈
P.s. A quick look at the end of how busy it is at the Abbey now that school is back in session. We can hear them in the hallways while we're at Mass!

Thank you, Katheryn. This is a new hymn for me - haven't heard it before. It must have been a little challenging, with all the high notes 😊. We have an Easter Vigil this evening at 8:00, with no restrictions in church (only masks).

Thankyou Kathryn. What a beautiful hymn I have never heard before. We will be rehearsing at 16.00 for the Easter Vigil at 20.00 just having a little suppertime break in between. I am really excited now. Happy Easter.
