I've lost friends to fear of my condition, to murder and natural deaths like ESRD and heart attacks, ODs, surgical complications, car wrecks, covid, alcoholism .. But not cancer. I'm the only one I know living with terminal cancer. Couldn't go to any funerals to say goodbye. I sit in my room, isolated, so I don't catch covid or avian flu or whatever disease de jour is running rampant out there. Which is ridiculous because I have a lethal virus running rampant in my body already! I used to dance, hangout at the Rainbow, go backstage at rock concerts, run down the beach, my malamute by my side and pods of dolphins following us in the waves close to shore, surfing, jumping, squealing with joy. I'm alive but where's my life?? I'm going through changes . . . I've lost my self.
@@monieluv35 that's a sweet thought but I get severe bronchitis everytime I hang outside just to read in the sun. Lung cancer, chemo immunosuppression are inhibiting 90% of my my active activities. I do plenty of reading, puzzles, tv/movies, daydreaming.. sedentary activities. I used to run on the dog beach 4-5x/week when I was healthy and lived 7 blocks from the beach. My world has shrunk SO MUCH since cancer and chemo. I did just buy a cheap electric guitar for another sedentary activity that makes me happy. I don't want to be a rock star or anything like that. I just enjoy playing for myself. You suggestion is very sweet though. 💖
