    I've been living in Tampere for around 8 years now, and it's just absolutely lovely. The language barriers are still a pain, as not everyone speaks English here. Luckily, I understand Finnish fluently, but it sucks to have to reply in a different language than spoken to.
    P.s. for anyone wondering, this guy's totally right about the munkkis (doughnuts) at Pyynikki observation tower. They're to die for! Super soft on the inside, slightly crunchier on the outside, and a whole lotta sugar.
    Enjoy your stay in Tampere if you happen to visit!

    I'd go again to the Moomin Museum because I liked it so much! And you just made me crave one of those deeelicious munkkit at Pyynikki. When I was there in June, there was a group of people climbing down the tower. A really cold rain started, but that didn't stop them, they kept going without flinching. Sisu at its best.

    Moi Aleksi,
    "Finnish guy smiling" was absolutely superb. I don't smile much either, not for photographs, newspaper or for television interviews either although I will smile when someone makes a joke. I guess its not in my DNA. No wonder these Texans are a bit confused at times lol. I hope you are doing well and that the new job is a success. Hyvaa paivanjatkoa, Steve

    Now it is over the years since my visit in Tampere and I absolutely loved the city, in next year or two I wish to move there or to Kuopio, if I'll be able to find a decent job. Anyway I started to watch your channel and I want to say only this: keep a good work! And greetings from czech republic! Terve! :D

    I would love to visit the Tampere Cathedral first. I love the artwork. It makes me wonder if the artist is a Christian. Is this cathedral devoted to the Christian Religion? When did you say these artworks were done? Perhaps, the artist was trying to interject some other religious ideals in his art. I think I heard that religion is falling by the wayside in Finland (perhaps in one of your videos?). Do you think this is the case. I love, love, love all your videos and I subscribed to your Skillshare because I will be visiting next year and I am trying to learn Finnish by the time I go. Kittos.

      There is a wikipedia article about him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Simberg
      Yea it's true the religion isn't that important in Finland anymore.

    • @kasperjoonatan6014
      @kasperjoonatan6014 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All the Simberg's paintings in the church are very much suited for Christianity imo. Why did you think they are not?

    For me personaly and thats only now my oppinion finland looks much more Russian to me then other scandinavien countries. Also the houses the colours dont fit together and in general i find the architecture style of the buildings quite boring and simple. In overall and i have been myself many times in tampere, Helsinki and other places i find the generell lookings of the buildings and infrastructure cold and depressing. Also many areas look kinda poor to me. The nature with the forests and many lakes and small rivers and in generell being free in nature is really nice. But again there the nature is nice but everywear you go in finland this kind of nature looks everywear the same and has the same looking so also that gets at some point kinda boring. Anyway no hate just my view of finland. I personaly like the looking of norway and sweden more as they have for me more this typical scandinavien lookings. What i miss tho in finland strongly is american diners, pancho, hook and all these american type restaurants.
