Hi just wondering how come you don’t just cut of the damage end of the cable and re use it ? Do you scrap the old parts probably get quite a bit for all those parts you change, love the videos 👍😀
No point cutting and rejointing the cable. They brake due to the copper fatigue and when they snap at one location it will also be weakened at another location. Meaning it will soon brake again.
Good to see that it was successfully repaired and given new life I have no idea how much they run over there I know here depend on how much parts cost availability is a deciding factor on a lot of people repairing power tools like sds hammer drills depending on the price of course new now comprable model is Hows to tell it's it's worth
These old Hitachi DH machines are very solid. I had one for about 18 years, and used it for all sorts of jobs, before (annoyingly) I broke the armature with a bit of grit on the commutator.
Proper Irish fix, just a bolt. Bloody good machine to keep going!
Love the videos man. I take stuff apart all day and fix it. Then come inside and watch you do the same. 😂
Great tool still getting the job done
Splendid old beast !
I'm glad it's not just my customers who give it the old 'it just needs brushes' comment as if they've a fucking clue what they're on about.

Back when machines were designed to be able to run like shit for longer than most machines will run these days
Had he used a tight bungy instead of a rope the function of the damped handle could’ve been maintained!

I liked when tools were survivable! Is there a link to where you can get the newer dewalt parts?
