It’s incredible how well huddersfield have done with the injuries we have . Testament to Duff , would be easily challenging for the title with a fully fit squad plus January window additions.
Wycombe and Huddersfield met Birmingham and lost then went on a 10+ unbeaten run, the fact that blues are so strong is bringing best out of there competitors
Agree unless Wrexham buy well in the window. Injury to Marriot has cost Wrexham about 6 points with the lack of goals and late oppositions goals to draw have been costly.
Watch out for Nwakale at Barnsley guys. He is a midfielder that’s been used sparingly throughout the season, so he’s a bit under the radar. Other than that we could do with a striker to complement what we have.
Birmingham win or lose the league based on their next 10 games. They face most of the top half of the league, If they get through those fixtures well they will go onto to win the league.
This was my end of season top 6 a couple of months into the season: 1. Blues 2. Huddersfield 3. Wycombe 4. Stockport 5. Wrexham 6. Bolton Bolton could still stage a late season run if they change manager. Barry is a big loss for Stockport but based on how they played against us they should be right up there. The other teams I have been impressed with are Reading, Blackpool, Mansfield and Orient. Fancy one of those if Bolton continue on their current trajectory. Blackpool are an odd team but they could just sneak in now Bruce is back full time. If Barnsley could add some home form to their away form they should be challenging for top honours but it's probably to steep a hill to climb now. Will any team get 100pts do we think?
We, Huddersfield, have such an horrendous injury list which has blighted us through the season. Player that were nailed on first teamers on that list. When we got a player back we would lose another, or two during that game, a pattern that has been on repeat all season. We lost our best performing player recently, replaced him with a Dutch top flight player on the first day of the window and he got sent off within 10 minutes of his sub appearance! So a 3 match ban. Through all this we have 15 match unbeaten run!
Huddersfield have already played away to Birmingham, Wrexham, Wycombe, Reading, Orient, Mansfield and Bolton. That's 7 of the current top 10 that now need to travel to the JSS.
Birmingham fan here. We played Orient in game 2-3 (I think). It was a fairly comfortable win but I remember thinking they were a decent looking team. After a slow start look at them now. The only team I’m worried about is Huddersfield. I can’t see two teams overhauling us. When you look at the 2 points per game target Huddersfield aren’t there yet. Wycombe and Wrexham are there with one point surplus. We are there with 7 points surplus.
Wrexham grinds hard in the second half of the season..They are currently out of form but still winning games. My money is on them for the 2nd spot, Huddersfield 3rd, Wycombe 4th as I think they will stumble a bit early with the team changes.
Just had a look back and you were generally around 10th favs for relegation @ 8/1, so an implied 11% or so probability. We also had you 15th in our 1-24s. So I’m not sure Mansfield were “favourites to be relegated” by any definition.
@@NotTheTop20 thank you. Just checking my resources lol. Paddy Power and Ladbrokes had us 20 position. Not that it matters of course. Apologies if I’ve read it wrong!🫤
If wrexham can get back running from all the injuries they will be strong. They've been on the 3rd choice keeper for months and no goal scorer reallt. you can see That's where they started to wobble a bit. Okonkwo is fit again,he's a very strong keeper and Marriott looked good before he went out in October. He should be back within a few weeks.
Good pod cast and agree with your predictions and as a Wrexham fan except think we are third best team ahead of Wycombe, I think logic dictates Huddersfield will win second auto spot, although a lot may determine on the next couple of fixtures with their home games v Birmingham - If Wrexham beat Birmingham and Huddersfield lose to Birmingham and if Wrexham buy a decent striker then perhaps they take the second auto spot. Too many ifs and so I predict Huddersfield.

Birmingham has the depth in their squad. A few injuries can cause you to drop quickly but they have equal cover all over .
I said before a ball was kicked
1. Birmingham
2. Huddersfield
3. Wrexham

Agree with the top two. Think third is very much up for grabs though.
As season goes on birminghams squad is biggest and strongest they will pull away

yes but we have managed well with all these injuries but it does need to be sorted out

It's a joke how we (Bolton) are so far behind promotion, the fact Ian Evatt is still here is a disgrace

Watch out for Rotherham United they are definitely on a upward trajectory UP THE MILLERS
Birmingham Huddersfield up Wrexham Wycombe Barnsley reading play offs
And Mansfield yet again get dismissed. We were favourites to be relegated and then deemed “lucky” to be where we are now. It is what it is I suppose 🤫
Not sure you were favs to get relegated?
@ yep before season started we were in bottom four by statisticians

Promotion, Birm Hudd, play off promo Reading. Relegation Burt, Camb, Peter, Bristol

Paying Steve Bruce highest wages in the league to sit in middle table mediocrity 😴

Agreed, Wrexham to buy a striker or Mullin starts to score again and Marriott returns and Wrexham may be in a charge for second spot.

Wycombe just lost their manager so they are likely out of contention.
