Thank you for this discussion, Atty.!
    Lesson 16:

When is a Preliminary Investigation required?
-It is expected to be led before the documenting of an objection or data for an offense where the punishment endorsed by regulation is something like four (4) years, two (2) months, and one (1) day regardless of the fine.
What are the purposes of a Preliminary Investigation?
    - To protect the innocent against hasty, oppressive, and malicious prosecution.
    - To secure the innocent from an open and public accusation of trial.
    - To protect the state from useless and expensive trials.

This video taught me what and when should a preliminary investigation be conducted. I learned that preliminary investigation is required to be conducted before filing a complaint IF the penalty of the offense is at least 4years, 2month, and one 1day of imprisonment.
I have also learned the purposes of the preliminary investigation (As stated in the ppt):
    • To protect the innocent against malicious prosecution,
    • To secure the innocent from public accusation,
    • And to protect the state from useless and expensive trials.
Thank you for posting this video Atty!

I've learned that Preliminary investigation is an inquiry or proceeding to determine whether there is sufficient ground to engender a well-founded belief that a crime has been committed and the respondent is probably guilty thereof, and should be held for trial. The prosecutor will look for the probable cause to file the case in the court. It is required to be conducted before the filling of a complaint or information for an offense where the penalty prescribed by law is at least 4 years, 2 months and 1 day without regard to the fine. For the Light Felonies cases is not required too undergo Preliminary Investigation. I've also learned the three purpose of prosecution such that :To protect the innocent against hasty, oppressive and malicious prosecution.
To secure the innocent from an open and public accusation of trial. And to protect states from useless and expensive trials. Thank you so much Atty. God Bless

Good day Atty. I would like to thank you for your very clear and concise discussion for us to learn and easily comprehend every knowledge you imparted to us. In this lecture I learned about the prelimenary investigation which is an inquiry or proceeding to determine whether there is a sufficient ground (probable cause) to engender a well founded belief that a crime has been committed and the respondent is probably guilty therefore, and should be held for trial. Not all cases are required for prelimenary investigation there are only selected cases for it to used where the penalty prescribed by law is at least 4yrs, 2months and 1day without regard to the fine. Normally it is not required for those light felony and punished below 4yrs,2months and 1day. The purpose of this is to protect the innocent against hasty, oppressive and malicious prosecution, to secure innocent from an open and public accusation of trial, to protect the state from useless and expensive trials.I have learned so much from you and I look forward to learning more. I've learned a lot Justice Buddy and I'm excited to learn more.
In the discussion I have learned about a preliminary investigation, which is an inquiry or proceeding to determine whether there is sufficient ground (probable cause) to engender a well-founded belief that a crime has been committed, and that the respondent is therefore likely guilty and should be held for trial. Preliminary investigation is not required in all cases; it is only utilized in certain cases where the sentence imposed by law is at least 4 years, 2 months, and 1 day without respect to the fine. It is usually not necessary for minor offenses with sentences of less than four years, two months, and one day. The goal is to protect the innocent from hurried, harsh, and malicious prosecution, to protect the innocent from an open and public allegation of trial, and to protect the state from unnecessary and costly trials.

Hi Atty! In Preliminary Investigation, its a proceeding to determine whether there is a probable cause. Probable cause will be the reason if they will need to endorse the complaint and file an information on our Court of Justice. But NOT ALL of the cases need a preliminary investigation. According to the law, it is required to be conducted before the filing of a complaint or information for an offense where the penalty prescribed by law is at least 4 years, 2 months and 1 day without regard to the fine. Thank you for these new informations Atty.

A preliminary investigation is required if an offense is punishable by 4 years 2 months and 1 day, in contrary, if it a crime belongs to light felonies, then a preliminary investigation is not required.

Good day atty thank you for discussing the preliminary investigation
    LESSON #16
    1. The preliminary investigation is the police agency's first response to a report that a crime has occurred. As in every investigative effort, the primary objective of the preliminary investigation is to determine who committed the crime and to apprehend the offender.
    2. Except for cases of warrantless arrest as discussed in our previous articles, a preliminary investigation is required to be conducted before the filing of a complaint or information in court for an offense where the penalty prescribed by law is at least four years, two months and one day without regard to the fine.
3.A preliminary investigation is an administrative inquiry conducted by a public prosecutor, for the purpose of determining whether there is probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed, and that the respondent is probably guilty, and should be held for trial.

I have learned in these lesson that the preliminary investigation's job is to determine if there's a probable cause so that they can endorse the complaint and file an information to the court of justice, this preliminary investigation is only available and can be applied to those case which the penalty is prescribed by the law that was not lowering the 4 year, 2 months and 1 day. If it's lowering then the penalty that was prescribed by the law is unable to apply the preliminary investigation. In addition to the knowledge I gained I have also learned the purposes of the preliminary investigation which are the following :
1.to protect the innocent against hasty, oppression and malicious prosecution.
2.to secure the innocent from an open and public accusation of trial
3.to protect the state from useless and expensive trials.
Thank you again atty. For your inspiring skill of teaching.
