In 2003 in the Car Park outside AFCBournemouths’ soccer ground Dean Court , a guy called MAX from near Whangheri did a solo one of these upon a heap of gravel to an astonished but impressed crowd of Bournemouth & Peterborough Utd supporters. God bless you Max & NZ from new forest
Whoa! Way better than the NPBHS haka we had back in the 1960s! The whole school had to practice it in the days leading up to the NPBHS-St Pat's match, regardless of whether you were going to attend. That haka would be considered a disgrace and an insult today.
Wowo...this is good opportunity for the schools boards to come together and monetize this asap...the school needs to run like a store front shop...create RV trough tickets, sponsors and TV...I bet the whole city would turn up for this...cuz I know lynfield college vs mt roskill would turn up the whole city...
To these boys it means something, they are not frenzied they are passionate about their school, their team and the respectful exchange that is taking place. Unfortunate that you can't understand that
I grew up in this town..and left when I was 18..... (I'm 69 ..)”pukekura park “,where this haka happened is one of the most beautiful parks you'll could find anywhere in the world...sorry but I'm over the haka..if they had a short 2minute one for test matches..then ok
Don't be mean to the old guy. That was over 50 years ago. He probably just has dementia. Just get the nurse to give him his pills and tuck him back in his bed. He would of forgotten all about it tomorrow and there will be something new to complain again.
@@benjames2966 Dear Ben I agree, but in my opinion the haka is nothing more than a ritual that even though they are forced to do it and we to watch it, it does not connect with many of the atheletes and the audience. Though I am sure there are many athletes and audience that do like it. We are all here for a comon reason that is the sports. and as you say sport is all about rivalries that build up through the history of PLAYING THE GAME. That is enough for me and I think the crappy haka is a distractiong time wasting side show that is meaningless to myself and others too.

That’s against St Pats Silverstream - my old school. I went to New Plymouth to watch when I was school. The haka wasn’t as well done back then.
What did the other team place o. The ground and why
it was St pats stream (blue) against new plymouth and stream won
Their caps to show respect and then lay down their own challenge.

Not sure it is such a great idea to get hundreds of high school boys all whipped up into a frenzy.🥴
Yeah they should have toned it down and done a Morris dance 💤
