The game that made Auburn not make the playoffs was the SEC Championship against Georgia. They came in ranked #2 and had they won, it would've been #1 Clemson #2 Auburn #3 Oklahoma #4 Alabama.
The LSU game didn’t matter. Auburn had two losses when they faced Bama. (LSU 23-27 and Clemson 13-14). Both of those losses weren’t bad. Clemson was a playoff team and LSU was a ranked team. Both those losses were 4 points or less. Then Auburn beat #1 Georgia and won the rest of their games before they played Bama. This put them at #6. Then when they beat #1 Alabama this out them in the Top 4 and all Auburn had to do was beat Georgia and they would stay in the playoffs. If they didn’t they would be out. Unfortunately Auburn got blown out 28-7 and their playoffs hopes were destroyed. Then lost to UCF in the Peach Bowl and finished with a season record of 10-4 lol.
