    It drove me NUTS that Walz had to spend his time speaking by debunking Vance's lies. Vance DID say he wanted a national abortion ban, there's audio of it ffs. Walz admitted that he misspoke. Tim Walz actually admits when he makes a mistake, Vance just straight up lies. I 100% am now supporting Harris/Walz.

    Honestly, I was kind of surprised at how civil this debate was. Even though there were a few spars and a lot of lies from one guy, both of the men actually seemed to be respectful of each other and I was glad that there was more talk on policy instead of dog whistling.

      What was even nicer was the end: they not only shook each others’ hand, but were chatting. Then each of their wives approached and they introduced their opponent to their wife. And then they each approached the moderators and shook their hands. Reminds me of how politics in America SHOULD be, and how far we have strayed from that with one particular individual.

    I'll admit, Vance was a little more disarming and Walz was more nervous than I thought they would be. Still, Walz sounding a little wonky at times doesn't compare to Vance lying about the state of our manufacturing, energy production, and trying to scapegoat legally present Haitian migrants in Ohio as if they are related to illegal border crossings in the South.

    I watched the entire vp debate. They both actually spoke clearly and cordially and spoke on some policies. The debate definitely solidified and locked in my support for harris

    Tim Walz did incredible, he could've hit Vance Harder on Project 2025 & the fact Vance wouldn't certify an election if Trump Lost. But I'd give his performance an 8 out of 10. 💙

      Totally agree that it was a missed opportunity to lay out trump/vance’s obvious, direct connections to project 2025. Personally id score him lower because of effectiveness because it’s clear the campaign is in an overly “do no harm” state of mind. I think he’s far more convincing when he’s being himself without constraints. While I disagree with the strategy, I get it because JD Vance is so fake you never know which one of his personalities is gonna show up

    Vance was more slick and polished but insincere and dishonest throughout. Walz started off awkwardly but got stronger as he honestly and capably answered complex questions. He came across as likeable, qualified and honest, except about when he arrived in China in 1989! When he asked Vance pointblank if Trump lost the 2020 election and Vance wouldn't answer it was chilling. Walz got in the only zingers of the night. My favorite: "Are you going to support democracy or are you going to support Donald Trump?"

    Surprised Vance's confirmation of Project 2025 being their playbook wasn't brought up. To me, that was the biggest moment of the debate. It was subtle, under the topic of Trumps "concept of a plan" comment.
    "It’s “common sense” that “you’re not going to propose a 900-page bill standing on a debate stage,” Vance said."
    I highly doubt they have another 900 page bill that he could be referring to.

      CBS is an advertising distribution system. Everything they put on the air is for the sole purpose of making a buck. Their news shows, like this debate, are a means to an end. Fact checking would not sell more ad space - on the contrary, it might cause them some audience share if their facts didn't agree with the received wisdom of some viewers
      TH-cam is much the same, with the added cost savings of all commentary being audeince provided by you and I.
