Finally a classical arrangement that keeps the edge (NPI) without pouring sugar all over it. Thanks.
"I shook my head and smiled a whisper, knowing all about the place"
No matter how it's done -- string orchestra, kazoo orchestra, klezmer band -- it's still the fastest 18+ minutes of music ever conceived. Nice job (despite some dodgy intonation!)
This always cracks me up to see renditions of my youthful songs. In 1978 my mom would've heard Yes blasting out of my room and ask me to turn that trash down. 2018 rolls around she'd say, this is lovely, what is it? LOL
Sweet at nectar. I had dreamed, as a teenager, that one day there would be orchestral versions of YES music. Thank you for making a dream come true!
I have a cd of orchestra playing Yes, which is probably 30 years old. Symphonic Music of Yes, I believe It's called. It's very good. Gotta pull it out actually.
The same situation happened to me, exactly. A dream tthat some good and dedicated people of far from UK Indonesia reached many years later. Thanks again!
@@johnkru1295 I have it too and was (and still am) very disappointed. I was expecting something like this, but it was really very shallow. This is incredible. Too bad it wasn't a full orchestra instead of just strings, but WOW!
.
Fantastic ! Jon Anderson, Steve Howe & the other guys from Yes will be very honoured & proud with this performance !
Rick wakeman too
Wonderful. This arrangement and performance is incredible.
This is just brilliant! It soars on wide stretched wings, revealing every nuance of the original. Beautiful!

Very pleasantly surprised...... I recall an Orchestra joining Yes onstage, playing in synch with them. And imagining, I wonder if they ( kids ) know how exciting and rare a privilege they have to perform with such a group !
Now, to have a string group interpret a Yes Classic, and to reinterpret such a huge piece, is amazing !! Thank you for the chance to listen to you perform !
I think when played like this it proves what a musical instrument Jon Anderson's voice is
ketinggalan 8 tahun. keren gila baru tau nih ada yang bikin orchestra lagu mahakarya yes. salut👍
I'm convinced that the section beginning at 3:30 would have turned Stravinsky's head for sure, and also perhaps the section leading up to it as well.
Over years of listening and loving this tune, I have only an inkling of what I'm supposed to make of it. Something about chaos and trouble remedied by knowledge, serenity and acceptance. This rendition has only added to my quest to understand the music. Somehow the lack of words and different instrumentation lends itself to nuance that had been lacking. Thank the orchestrator from not losing the gestalt while changing the details drastically. And thanks to the entire orchestra for their dedication and training, without which I would have missed so much.
Needs more Bruford!
Needs needs more Brufordd.dd.....
No, just orchestra is fine.
A great interpretation on such a high level of skill and composition.
Rest In Peace Haryo Yose Soeyoto, we'll meet again someday & somewhere beyond the blue.
oh! ... R.I.P.
WOW!!! its powerfull and extremely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! congratulations!
Thank you Haryo and the orchestra for this beautiful rendering of the original. You crafted a fine interpretation that captures the spirit of the original. An accomplishment of which you can be proud.
Extraordinary transposition of the work of Yes. Really very beautiful and well articulated with the arches. Great music!
Incredible and so beautiful work. You made me understand things about Yes but your work is incredible
Hey you spelled your last name wrong! It should have 2 L's lol, J/K close to mine :)
It's fantastic, especially the signature riff around 3:30. Love that. My only request would have been something a bit more dramatic when playing the section with Ricky's organ solo. It's very much the climax of the piece for me and I would have liked a solo violin or section tearing it up, but it's a small quibble. Bravo everyone.
Thanks for your dedication and understanding. Enjoying it now with my family in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
WOW...It's great to see the music of the best band ever formed interprered so beautifully. Hope your orchestra is around a long time. Thank you soooo much. More Yes covers would be cool.
Very well done. I just listened to Rite of Spring a couple days ago. A bit surprised how Stravinsky-ish this version of CTE sounds.
wah hebat Anime Strorch membawakan salah satu masterpiece YES - CtTE, dua acungan jempol [two thumbs up] deh, karna lagu ini terkenal lengkap - juga sulit utk teknis dan menjaga kesinambungan mood-nya !!! Congrats utk arranger + aransemen-nya: Mas Yoseeeeeeeee........!!!!
Well done. Just a monster of a song. Really a beautiful tribute to a band that never really received their due.
It is not only amazing because it is orchestral. Amazing about it is how it was orchestrated, how the background sounds was redefrined to make the extremally dramatic version. It is so beautfull that I was really crying listen to this. The deep, consistent, version of CttE, that show its amazingness as all, that put together all the forms that this song in permutating to. I have never ever listen to this song with so deep understanding, this is amazing. As a true YES fan, for whom this music is true gold that really surrounded my life with beautty, I really thank you for this epic interpretation of this complex song. Now I understand why YES is the bridge between rock and classic music.
Majestic!!
Musik pun mengenal sejarah, setiap dekade mempunyai ciri tersendiri. Musik tahun 70 an ini, nostalgia untuk yang kenal group YES, inspirasi untuk musisi muda. Aransemennya keren.. good job deh !!
Zaman e king bruford kan ya ini.sayang banget ya d indo kurang familiar.padahal keren.ketutup sama band2 rock model zeppelin
It's an amazing accomplishment but it sounds unnervingly like a movie soundtrack.
So beautiful..
Cool! Sounds like serious music. It IS serious music!
That was interesting, it needs a greater variety on tonal instruments,
Add percussion with cymbals,
Tubas to accent the bass lines, and you got it.
Its a string orchestra though
The Tokyo Philharmonic's rendition of Tarkus was much more satisfying. Still, hearing a real string orchestra perform this piece brings out a lot. Is it just me, or does anyone think a good conductor could work in some tuned percussion?
This is awesome, i love how it keeps the original intact whilst amplifying the tension inherent in the song throughout. Could be a ghibli movie score!
The words run through my head as i hear this... wonderful work!
Hermoso trabajo e interesatisimo resultado. Felicitaciones! Bravo!!!
mantap.. bikin merinding
aku nangiiisss. Dimana band di Jakarta yg main YES ? Please let me know
Very good transcription, classical arrangement!
Wow is right!! Love the first chair violin doing Rick's organ solo. Only thing my ears missed was percussion. Tympani and cymbals.
as good if not better than most classical compositions..as are most YES songs....their music will be around in 200 years. !!
Just wonderful
Brilliant! Please tell me someone is busy working on an animated film (ie Fantasia) using this score!
Very nice cover!! I'll listen to this again and again.
Rest in Peace for Mr. Yosè (conductor) 💛💛💛
Makasih dan salut Pak Yose, sudah membuat kami jadi turut bangga.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
Yea, really great. Ambitious effort/excellent execution.
RIP Haryo Soejoto. 🙏🙏
Nicely done. Very cool violin solo using Howe lics in the 2nd part.
BEAUTIFUL !.............................................
This is breathtakingly amazing!!
Fantastic, thanks.
bravo!!!
wonderfull!!!
Yo sabía que al pasar los años, alguien lo haría. . . esa cancion de mis favoritas pasa al formato donde creo que en otra vida nacio.
.. Tremendo arreglo y gran interpretación.
Now for something different...very cool..
I get up..I get down..
Wow! That violin solo at 15:32 playing Rick's is amazing!
This. Is. Fantastic. Fucking. Fantastic. Well Done.
Good stuff. Although it's a different arrangement, they did some inversions in the melody that resemble the "Symphonic Music Of Yes" release.
good job Haryo !!
So Beatiful
Muito bom! Wonderful!
13:27 for me - great interpretation
Damn good.
At 3:30 there should be more emphasis on the quartal harmony Rick Wakeman plays on the Hammond organ heard clearly on the "Yessongs" live album. At least I would have arranged it thus. Great job though...love it!
Yeah you're right. Rick's organ harmony underneath that melody is sublime. It grinds against it and makes it even better as an ensemble piece.
I want to get this arrangement! Is it possible to buy?
Bravo!
Totally impressive!!!! Thank You all!!!
holy fuck that was fantastic!
YES !!!
Does Jon already see this ??
This is partially re-composed, not just arranged. The arranger has added extended, more sophisticated harmony parts in many places, which do more than just fill out the sound - they extend the harmonic language into a more advanced tonal idiom. And while they're great, they also have an unintended effect: Those other portions that are straightforward transcriptions of the original now sound pretty but rather bland in comparison.
spetacular !! spetacular !!
Cê tá é doido!
this is very good and really shows how YES is modern classical music. I thought some of the time changes and potentials to layer the music were really not up to snuff. It really shows how the original players and their recording are immaculate in conception and execution. I would also have trouble being conducted by a spastic Shrek doppelganger. I would love to see a far more sophisticated and talented orchestra really RIP this song to shreds...I think is will happen..Again this was fine and a tribute indeed to the greatest band ever. But it left me a lot hollow and unsatisfied
Great concept, though it sounds like the bass parts have been simplified.
Para mi gusto , faltan instrumentos de percusión ..
I think a more experienced orchestra would do this piece more justice...
Great arrangement. So sad about the sound!
I thought this would have something to do with japanese animation.
Interesting, but without emotion :( >>> Yessongs version is absolutely fantastic
Yo, since when do they use DJs to conduct orchestras lol
Wha ha ha
It's a pretty arrangement, but the strings on their own lack the variety in timbre to express all the different sections. Sorry, but the emotional impact is really lacking.
Needs brass, percussion, winds.
Nice try though
A lot of creative license from the start. Not sure why some of it exists; totally distracting from the original piece. Still ok, but not particularly true to the original. More like a movie loosely "based" on the original story.
I didn't like this interpretation at all. A lot of the intonation was way off and the arrangements seem very jumbled. Disappointing. It might have been better served with a full orchestra rather than strings alone. Some woodwind instruments would have made for a softer, more appealing sound than the harsh treatment handed out here. Sorry.
that is the worst rendition
of some one elses genius
i have ever heard
