@Jason Born I don't play any instrument. I just thought of my favorite bands and realized they all have amazing bassists. Maiden, Jinjer, Cliff Burton era Metallica, and a lot of progressive death metal bands are all in heavy rotation in my iPod right now. I should have used a word other than "best." Obviously, it's all subjective.

I think Obscura and Inferi are my new favorite bands, formerly for about 20 years Emperor and At the Gates for different reasons. The solos these new death metals bands have are absolutely amazing
