    I really love this game!
    It's been around 4-5 years since the first time I tried this game and I can't stop thinking about it. Finally I just got my own copy!
    Thank you for the review

    I played this a couple of weeks ago (skipped the basic game), and loved it. Immediately pre-ordered it, and it's supposed to be delivered today!

    The game ending based on money and fame meeting is a very clever idea in my opinion. This does not look like a game for me, but it is close and looks good.

    I just played this game yesterday for the first time, I genuinely loved it. What a fantastic game. Definitely becoming one of my favorite worker placement games, and it also inspired a new mechanic I added to my game (the one I'm currently working on)

    The race on those scoring tracks in the late game😊 I absolutely love it! My favorite part of the game.

      So, what are some things you love about it?
      I noticed Tom didn't give it an excellent rating, which usually makes me think a game is good, but not great, but this one does look interesting to me.
      Would you compare it to any other games? Does it possibly have a puzzle within a puzzle? I love games like that. I ask because of the dice as a resource.

    • @Thiashadow
      @Thiashadow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      John Rochester hi! Just das your message now!
      So... The thing that I like is How well conected is all gears of The game. I had not a feeling of playing various minigames at once. Instead Every piece talks easily with one or more pieces.evething adds together at The end.
      The whole "carcassonne" miniboard os algo a Nice puzzle and once more The pieces do/are related to The others parts...
      The dice used as a resources, as colors or pips, or both! Was also a thing that I found not usual and good!
      Finally, The concept of Double "victory Track" is really Nice that you have many ways to persuit victory!
      So basically is that :)

    This game looks like it manages to incorporate all my favourite game mechanisms, plus I really love the uber-colourful, busy board and those jewel-like dice! It's a must have for me. :D

    This game sounds complex and thematically it looks really nice. I totally agree that gameboard needs to be a bit bigger looks a little too crowded as it is. Definitely interesting

    Looks awesome! good amount of depht and beautiful board.
    But aren't there an insane amount of rules to this game ? Looks like a players turn would take ages ?
    doesn't matter too much to me, but my girlfriend might.
    Will probably buy this one anyway!

    You said you can hold 8 dice. I have not read the rules myself but was tought you can have 10 dice. The two hands on the board is also two dice spots. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @xxporchyxx
      @xxporchyxx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kotie Erwee the basic game you can hold 10 when you flip it the two boxes in the middle aren't used so you have eight spots in the advanced version

    Tom, at 3:52 i think you have mistake fame with Karma. You loose KARMA to switch the sides of die. And the fame is the one you keep track until it crosses the money for the win

  • @fozanify
    @fozanify 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just read the rules and this video confused me. Do you start with all of your workers in the advanced variant, or you can unlock all 3 of them instead of 2 as in the basic version?

    • @Stephens_Rocket
      @Stephens_Rocket 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can unlock all of them but you get to hold fewer dice in your stock

    I seem to be coming to this board gaming party late. Another older game that I just found out about after seeing the dice version. At least it's not going to be $100+ like some of the older gamea.

    Great review as always, but I respectfully disagree with your conclusion.
    We already have enough games like this on the market. It brings nothing new to table. With so many options it just looks like a slot machine for victory points and that isn't engaging at all. And this theme is just slabbed on to it... There is no connection between the mechanics and the theme of Ganges river, except of these ships in the middle.
    These kind of worker placement euro games don't do it for me anymore.
    Btw, doesn't the "dice like a resources"-mechanic remind people too much of a game called Troyes?

    • @TorIverWilhelmsen
      @TorIverWilhelmsen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Who are "we" in this scenario? Certainly, more than enough people are likely to want to play this particular variety that the publisher sees a market for it.
      It's like saying there are more than enough fantasy novels.

      I, for strarters, love both tile placement games ( such as Glen More, Isle of Skye, etc. ) and dice drafting / allocation ( Castles of Burgundy, Voyages of Marco Polo, Grand Austria Hotel, etc. ). Having both these mechanisms in one game is more than great, so no, I don't think this game is redundant by any means.

    • @simonmounsey4191
      @simonmounsey4191 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      While there are worker placement games. There aren't many that use dice as resources. What really intrigues me though is the end game. There really aren't many that use the mechanism of having two tracks and whenever they meet, you win. Love that. Also, it uses a combo of other mechanisms.

    • @TheRamblingpitchfork

      "slot machine for victory points"? The game doesn't have victory points it is a straight race game.

      "We already have enough games like this on the market." Could you please name a few? And I'm not being sarcastic - I actually mean it. Love this game and would love to get my hands on something similar.
