  • Handle With Care runs Dec 8 through Jan 8 at Stage West in Fort Worth Texas
    Illana is a theater director based in NYC, originally from Fort Worth, and making her Stage West directing debut! Previously, she directed and co-wrote (with Deborah Yarchun and Sean Hudock) the World Premiere of Hans & Sophie at Amphibian Stage, awarded five DFW Theater Critic Awards including Outstanding Director and Outstanding New Play. Other directing credits: Regional Premiere of A Lost Leonardo (Amphibian Stage) and Julius Caesar (Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival tour). Off-Broadway credits: Associate Director on Tamburlaine the Great (dir. Michael Boyd) and Pericles (dir. Trevor Nunn) at Theatre for a New Audience. Regional credits: Associate Director on Fingersmith (dir. Bill Rauch) at American Repertory Theater. Assisting credits: Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Signature Theatre, Yale Rep, Hangar Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. She has directed at Stella Adler (NYU), Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute / NYU Tisch, NYU Gallatin, Post Theatre, LIU. Honors / Awards: Overall Award for Excellence in Directing or what she will by Charly Evon Simpson (FringeNYC ‘12), 2018 Drama League First Stage Residency, member of Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab ’12, and current board of League of Professional Theatre Women.
