I agree that having an older toy just use someone else's name feels like a lost art. Love the fact that so many obscure characters get their own figures now (even if partials), but man, the nostalgia for reused toys is hitting hard.
Of course, the only G2 Cyberjet repaints in the 2003 Universe line I got were Air raid and Wind sheer, both didn't even last long in my hands when I was a kid, true story, and heartbreaking, too. I think the only Energon figure that was repacked in the Universe 2003 line was Barricade, the main component of Bruticus Maximus that I still have, and he survived, another true story, and any Universe 2003 toy had their problems like CPS and Inferno was one of them, When Universe 2008 rolled in, the first figure I got was Prowl, and we all know his doors were not good because of the type of clear plastic, and the paint...oh, the paint...the paint would rub off, and that wasn't even funny, and when I got Treadbolt for the first time, he was great for a while, then the CPS situation happened again, the hinge on the cockpit/fuselage broke, then the helmet had a crack at the back, common mold degredations started happening all over again. 2007 Overcast did not last long because of joint tolerances at the ball joints, clear plastic on one of 2007 Crankcase's shoulder ball joints sheered off and the clear plastic on his leg broke off when applying too much pressure, 2007 Divebomb...fell apart right out of the packaging. Animated Swindle? Everyone knows that story by now. and unfortunately, Hasbro thought that clear plastic was the way to go for Transformers figures at the time, and believe me, that wouldn't work, the only mold to use clear plastic was the lambo mold without having the clear plastic break was probably genius, and the only mold that didn't suck for that reason, though, Red alert's arms were very loose when Generations came around, which was understandable, I mean, that issue was treatable, and Red alert was one of the better figures at the time. I'm pretty sure the movie figures from that point had their problems after Revenge Of The Fallen came around.
Despite the unstructured feet design, the general stature of that figure is really heroic, especially the upper body with the mass repartition on his back giving him a dynamic look.
Redder Alerter. Very fun that they homaged a Micromaster instead of Doubledealer or Stalker. Having never owned any version of this mold, I thought for the longest time that the rocket was fixed to the shoulder, therefore making this toy the most sinister tease ever. Now I understand this rocket not only can be pretend-launched off, but can also spring-fire its own rocket out of the tip. Insanity!
The Micromasters are one of the glaring omissions from the selection of 3rd Party Transformers. I'd like to see them all get Masterpiece renditions, especially the Autobot Battle Patrol.
Two "features" that make Transformers Universe/Classics 2.0 25th anniversary Countdown special are, Countdown was the last Toys R Us exclusive Transformers figure released in the Universe 25th anniversary line, and the size class of figure he is part of, ultra class, was discontinued in 2009, so Countdown is arguably the last ultra class sized Transformers figure released by Hasbro.
It's bad enough that you make me covet this 16 year old figure, but then to have him attack Energon Prime (3:44) as if he hasn't already gone through enough insult and injury... That's just messed up man. Also I take back my negative comments about the new logo... I didn't realize that IT MOVES! That is just prime!

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks This Toy Makes me Happy 👍😀
Underused, unknown, or new bot repaints really hit differently in the early 2000s

One of my favorite figures of all time! The rocket just gives him so much presence in robot mode.
I knew you would like this one

This gives me a lot of nostalgia for the old universe figures
There were a lot of stinkers but the bangers make up for it
At the time it felt like a lazy line, but they really did put out quite a few gems

Heck yeah, Sun runner and Flak were my favorites

My friend had this guy 😮
"countdown whippin the tools out to do maintenance on his rocket"
o_O
Does the rail to center the missile not work?
Holy crap I had no idea there was one! Lol
Replacing those huge missiles must be a pain after he launches them.
your mom's a bad ass for that, just saying
It was certainly a surprise.

I put that in just to see if you still watch :)
