This is just so sad:(. During the last scene, while they're sitting down to dinner, you can see Randy's pictures on the front of the kitchen cabinets & all over. These poor people have lived almost their entire lives wondering what happened to their child & searching for him. They have never had any peace & that's just so sad. They never got to xperience their son going off & then graduating from college, or getting married & having children, all of the things that the rest of us parents get to enjoy. These kind & gracious people didn't deserve this. Life is just so unfair sometimes:(

There’s just too many things lining up that points to a cover up.
    - Shows getting 0 cooperation from local authorities.
    - Flanagan’s “30 years ago” statement
    - Refusal to identify the found remains
    - The arson a short time after the disappearance
    - That Flanagan wasn’t investigated (even though that was last known location)

There is an open search going on right now for 2 young men and their dog that went missing in the Mississippi River at Vicksburg, Mississippi about 2 weeks ago. They found their boat, their lifejackets and their hunting bag. The boat motor foot had damage and the boat had a bad gash like it hit a rock jetty in the river. The boys haven't been located. The United Cajun Navy and the United Cajun Navy of Mississippi are on the river now actively searching for them. They are in need of someone with sidescan sonar. Somehow this investigation would have exposed them. A graduation party in a small town would have been known about by many. For what ever reason I think the law was in on the drug delivery that day. Could have been a case of Randy knowing too much. His grandma's brother is a , or was a cop in another town. He should try to get a leak down the line from another cop. The cops don't want to spend time and money searching for someone when they already know where he is.

The comment of Flanagan about not being as angry as he was (when he killed his girlfriend) in over 30 years has so much weight to it. That’s more than enough to warrant an interview, and Police could play psychological tricks on Flanagan by saying “we now have enough evidence to get you a further life sentence, however the jail term will be reduced if you tell us where to find Randy”. Flanagan thinking he’s making a plea when his comment indicates that the guilt is still a burden now, needs added pressure to get the answers.

I sincerely hope that someone steps forward and helps this family out. Decades ago, my brother was the unofficial leader of a group that was involved in small time drug dealing. It came to pass that if my brother said something about someone or something that he liked or disliked, a corresponding action would occur soon after. Examples: They were at a bar in a different state and he said he absolutely loved the bar top. Month later when he came back from a trip, that bar was in his house. Another time he made comments about a guy that was being a real &$$&)#@ to him. A week later that guy was "mugged" and ended up in the hospital in critical condition.
So, just because this guy said he didn't do it, doesn't mean his friends didn't.

Either way, this family is searching for closure. Naysayers have a way of influencing families in that closure is a myth.
      But it isn’t.

My fellow cross country team runs on a route named 95th and edgerton. That’s where jack used to live. This is where we run our long runs at. If you run far enough you can make it into Linwood or Eudora. My dad was a former police officer and worked on the cold case. One morning jack slept on the couch and his dad heard a honk at 5 am. Someone picked up jack and he never returned. People said that they saw him at a party the next night. Could he have been at party as Randy? My dad brought cadaver dogs and drained one of the ponds on this route. There was nothing. To this day the case is cold. And from what I know they didn’t even try on this case. Basically just gave up.

The fact that they didn’t identify the body parts that were found and it wasn’t ruled out that the body parts were him makes me think they did belong to him and this is a cover up. The car in my opinion is almost certainly somewhere in the Kansas river probably under the silt layer where the cadaver dogs sensed something.

I got a feeling that the woman new something more then she wanted to lead on. And why didn't the police ask the guy who was in jail about what he was talking about the 30 years thing?

Dirty characters like Flanagan don't survive for long, unless there's an inside connection. Quite possibly the cops were on "the take" of drug deals done by this character, and that's why nothing was ever resolved. Flanagan had a trump card when it came to covering up the crime.

I lived in Linwood and my brother was in Randy's class . So we have lived this sad story, all of our adult life. I am disappointed and appalled at the Leavenworth County Sherrif's Dept for the way this was handled. They mentally ruined some people by not investing their time in the investigation. They followed ridiculous leads instead of focusing on the area of the party. Just ask my brother. He was investigated and harassed by the so called authority. Unfortunately, Harold passed away, a few days ago. If LCSD had anything at all, to share with this family, they should have done it a long time ago. Not sure how those officers sleep at night.

Being 58 and having been my grandmother's pride and joy I've grown up with a HUGE respect fire our older citizens. My heart is ripped up knowing that Randy's parents, Harold and Alberta, will probably NEVER really know what happened to their only child. But if Randy is gone, they must have received some kind of peace knowing that they had an angel on their shoulders giving them the strength to hold fast all of these years. Wow a pig farm.... Anyone who knows how swine react to God knows that they are carnivorous and will eat ANYTHING... Easy way to dispose of a body. Flannigan could still have done this.
