You’re such a sweetheart Michael, a caring person. The podcasting world is so much the richer in having you a part of it. And I so love your socks with the blue and lilac coloured toes, heels & cuffs :-)
You are one of the classiest people I have ever seen, and I've been lucky to live a very long life. I always look forward to seeing you and consider your podcasts time well spent. Thank you for continuing this good work.
I love the name 'Melted Crayons' for a yarn. When I was a kid I used to break my crayons into small pieces, soften them with the heat of my hands and roll them into crayon marbles.
Another great episode Michael…thank you. I’m sorry there are such sad people out there compelled to be ugly. Social media can be a double-edged sword, but a good quote I recently saw was that in every encounter we have with another person we can either leave a footprint to follow or a scar to heal. Here’s to leaving good footprints.
Michael, I love the colors you picked for the Seaside Tee. You have a gift for putting colors together. I wish I could go yarn shopping with you! I love you, and I love your podcast!
I'm a new viewer as well. It's always encouraging to see more positivity and diversity in the knitting community. I hope positivity and creativity finds you until your next video! Thanks so much for sharing your corner of the world!
Michael, loved this episode with all the beautiful makes, the spinning content and the classical music rec! It would be awesome to see video of your dancing, but oh well, the analogy days. It’s always a joy to spend time with you in your corner of Beyoncé’s Internet!!
Loving all of your knitting and spinning creations. The October yarn of the month is such a beautiful color combination!! ❤. And your striped sweater is 👩🍳 💋. I spent most of the episode wondering if unfinished projects are the monsters under the bed? Calling to us, saying don’t forget about us? 🤣🤣🤣 I’m so grateful for you, your sense of humor and your amazing positive energy. Happy crafting! 💜
You handle that so amazing well. While this maybe be the only place I know you.- your personality definitely shows in your videos. And you showed just how awesome you are again. ❤
Thank you so much! I will keep being me and putting out the positive vibes. Happy you are enjoying the things I'm working on. Happy crafting to you too.
Just thank you! You bring such joy. I don’t know why, but the way you said “that looks really cute” had to be restated 5 times because I found your voice so cute. Btw, as a fellow Chicagoan, the Center on Halsted collects garments. I’ve given them many hand knits. Let’s just say gauge is real! And…I’m very happy that the video technology was not available for my dance recitals. Nobody needs to know that some don’t have rhythm!!!!❤
Thank you for such kind words. 🙏🏽🥰 I’ll have to keep that in mind as I had no idea they collected garments. That’s wonderful! 😂 some things are better left as wonderful memories.
Michael you are a class act and we all love you and your podcast.. you have a great sense of humor and I was laughing when you said Kendrick was learning to knit or something like that, and messed up some yarn... I’ve now had my friend start watching you and she loves you too... hugs from the knitters in Alaska! Ps love those fabulous socks as you thumbnail!
Thanks so much for the kind words. It means a lot to me. Kendrick really needs to get his own hobbies, I'm not sure his paws could handle the working with the needles. Thanks for spreading the word about the podcast. One day I'll get to Alaska. I hear its just beautiful.
LisaR : Bravo Michael :) You've delivered the message with firm articulation.. Peaceful . Grace extended by you highlights your confidence & good character . Ps - Yes , agree your calves are Enviable !But you earned them :)
Michael, as a long time returning viewer and someone who is old enough be your mother I am more than thrilled to be classed as a “ cool kid” …… yay…… absolutely love your podcast. Love your socks and the seaside jumper. Just fabulous. Keep up the brilliant work as you are a delight to sit and share some time with. Thank you ❤
Oh Michael, How lucky I feel that you are here and that I found you! Gogeous sock tubes. How fun! And, yes, I bought one and its still a bit of a time to get those cuffs, heels and toes on. The Seaside Tee may it fit please. Love the color palette. Sending the love and please give Kendrick an extra scritch.
So happy that you are here and enjoying all of the content. The heels, toes and cuffs will get added in their own time. No need to rush it. We shall see about the Seaside Tee. Even if it doesn't fit, it will make a wonderful gift knit.
Let's all stick our paws under the door until Michael lets us in. Mine are the ones with 10 shades of gold polish. As an LTBAQG (Long Time Being A Queer Guy) crafter, I'm over the haters. Why should I waste my yarn buying time thinking about them?
Hello Michael from Mounds, Illinois. I love watching your podcast, if I didn’t I wouldn’t watch it, your knitting is awesome! I love my sock machine, but am still learning how to use it. I can knit tubes and then finish them by hand.
Hey, Hey!! Thanks for coming back. That's so cool you have a sock machine too! I would want to crack all the tubes if I had one of them. I know you can crank the whole sock on the machine but it is nice to do part of it by hand.
Yeah, I love that this is a Safe Space - you never project anger and welcome us all. You make gorgeous things, gift so many wonderful items, and so much more. I'm here for the good vibes and really enjoy what you do. Thank you for that. I'm loving the new sweater and hope the shoulders work for you because it will look fabulous on you - but if not, I'll PM you my address! Haha. Seriously great stashbusting.
Thanks so much for the kind words. 🧡 I’ll be sure to reach out for your address if things start to go south with that sweater. 😂 at least I’ll know it made it to a happy home.
I’m so glad I found your podcast. I heard about you from Needles at the Ready and The Knitting Posse. You have such a positive vibe. I’m looking forward to watching your prior videos.
LOVE those guys and gals. So happy you took their recommendation and made your way over here. Hope you enjoy the future content as well. Welcome to the silliness!!
I am sooo extra excited to watch your podcast today! I’ve missed hearing you and, for whatever reason, not a single one of the other knitters I follow dropped a video today. Please know your efforts are very much appreciated!
I did just see you! I am now the grandma to a grand dog! (Feel the ♥️)! I soon will have a project bag like yours. It's in the mail!!! I can't wait. I finally got a Chip Basket!!! I love project bags! If I had one of those sock machines it would be a leg warmer machine! I am afraid of cutting! Your yarns are lovely. I love your tee. You have a great eye for color! You definitely put out positive vibes and thank you for that!
Not granny to the dog. 😂😂 I love that. Yay for being basket twins. 🤞🏽 I really hope that tee works out be I am enjoying working on it so far. Happy to hear you like the vibe around here. 😁✌🏽
Love that you are knitting the Woolens and Nosh every month. I just open them with the pop of happiness they bring and have only had a chance to knit one of them so far. Living vicariously through your knits as usual! Going to try to knit up her advent each day in December though because I adored that peaceful process last year. You know you can convert reel to reel to digital now! Might be time for you to make that happen. I would worry that the reel to reel tape might degrade over time and in order to preserve it you should digitize.
They are so good that I need to see them knit up as soon as I get them. Excited to see people knit the advent socks this year. I didn't get it but I can't wait to see what they look like. LOL I should get those file put to digital. At some point I will make it happen.
You were right: people are trash. Of course not all people - but unfortunately far too many. You are a joy and anyone who doesn't see that... well. I feel for them. (You should have THOUSANDS more subscribers, you're simply lovely. And yea, I wanted to say that; I know it wasn't necessary.)
Your energy is the best of the best. I love listening to what you're up to & I admire all your knitting & spinning. I too am knitting socks with Ginger Snap. The yarn has black light reactive blips. These are for the one of my brothers who is the most likely to find himself in a black light reactive space, shall we say. His eyes lit up when I offered him black light reactive socks. Anyone who gets excited about a knitted item makes me so happy:) Have a great November!
Thank You for thinking so! OMG I had some of that black light yarn for a giveaway. It's really cool and I'm sure he will love it. I agree, those people that are excited about hand knit things are really special. Especially if they know how to take care of them.
For the tee you could possibly finish it, and then pick up more stitches for the collar than recommended. This would make it wider and therefore increase the width of the shoulders of the overall garment. You can then knit the neck band a little longer than recommended if you'd like more coverage. Love watching your podcast. 🌈🦄
This is the information I’m here for!! Thanks for sharing this. That makes total sense and I’ll keep that in mind once I’m done with the body of the sweater. Happy you enjoy watching the pod. 🧡✌🏽
Love all your socks the yarn colours you chose look amazing and your Seaside Tee also looks awesome maybe try blocking it lightly to stretch the back and chest area I hope it fits it’s beautiful ❤❤
hello, lovely 😊 thank you for making this granny smile, and providing inspiration. maybe kendrick can make a cameo appearance at some point to show projects. i adopted a lovely girl that i named "jolly" -- while learning to adapt to life in a house complete with humans, she took a great interest in hand dyed yarn, as well as sorting laundry 😄
So happy to provide such warmth and inspiration to you. That makes me so happy. 😁 What is it with our little ones wanting to try our crafts? They should really find their own hobbies. 😂 Now helping with the laundry I can get behind though. 😂
Peace is in your name for a reason ✌️🌈💗 I missed your Rhinebeck upload! Silly algorithm. Yay for me I have another vid to watch later. My peace that I share with you, its strangely warm here west of the Cascades and I'm listening the humming birds chittering and the migrating finches chirping. Have a wonderful week ahead!
Good reminder that Peace is in the name. Love that. The vid is there for you when you have the time. The algorithm can be a silly little thing sometimes. What a wonderful and peaceful setting it sounds like you are in. Much Peace to you in the weeks ahead.
So glad to see you on Beyoncé’s internet! Maybe Kendrick needs a sock machine? Your finished socks look really fun! Best luck with your sweater. Only it knows it’s destiny. 😊
Thanks for coming to hangout on her internet with me! LOL Kendrick would love a sock machine but his own cant afford it at this time. We shall see what happens with that sweater. I'm excited to see where it will end up too.
Right!?!?! I need to learn how to make one of the felted acorns. I'm really digging the colors too. Fingers crossed it all works out. If not, it will make a lovely gift.
People can be trash! You are a wonderful person, you are the best! Btw, I bought a similar bag from Beautiful Syster, “bag siblings” my first Beautiful Syster bag😛 Michael made me do it;)
I think you danced around the same time that I figure skated. VHS tapes were the worst form of recording ever invented and there is basically no way to recover that stuff well. 😢I always enjoy seeing what your working on! ❤
Totally!! Like how is it that the film was so bad LOL. I should really look into digitizing them regardless. Thanks for coming back to see what I've been working on.
Ignore the haters...they have nothing else better to do. I 💛 the socks. I have a difficult time working with small needles. I have only been knitting for less than a year but hope as time progresses I can begin to create beautiful socks like I see you and the Needles at the Ready guys do.
Facts! Thanks! Welcome to the knitting/crafting club!!! You could always start off with making DK socks at first. Then when you are more comfortable, you can start dropping down in needle size. It will come, it just takes practice.
Ihave a question about the sock machine. What is the needle size equivalent when cranking a tube? I am wondering if that or the machine's tension accounts for the similarity in fit for the 64 vs 68 sts. Also, if you try your seaside on before picking up stitches for the neck it might allow you to adjust the number of stitches and the number of rows of ribbing to help acieve a good fit. The colors are so pretty, it seems a shame to not be able to wear it. Thanks to NATR for recommending your podcast. I have really been enjoying it.
I think the fit is very close to my 68 stitch hand knit socks. I think its all about the tension you set the machine to, is my understanding. So try about adding those stitches once i try it on. I'm going to play around with a few things once the time come. Ill be sure to keep you all updated. Thanks so much for coming over per their recommendation. Those boys are the best. Glad you're enjoying the content.
Michael I love your podcast. Valorie who you met at Rhinebeck sent me here. I don’t comment typically because I forget. But your last podcast got me to buy a Beautiful Syster bag. Also why would someone come to a podcast to leave hateful comments? This makes me sad for you and them because there are better ways to spend your time. Like knitting 😂😂😂. Peace and love. ❤
Welcome, Welcome!!! So glad you are here now and that Val sent you over. She is so so sweet. Yay for picking up a bag from Beautiful Syster. They really do make some of my favorite bags. Much Peace to you too. See you for the next episode.
Thanks for another enjoyable episode. I love all your striped socks and your technique is intriguing. I've been hesitant to use minis for heels and toes as I think of those as high stress/use areas on a sock and am afraid the yarns will come apart more easily at those joins. Any tips?? ☮✌🧶
Thanks so much!! Is you are worried about those high stress areas blowing out, you could try using a nylon reinforcement thread help with your sock yarn to provide a little more strength. Hope that works. ✌🏽
Michael, do you own a spinning wheel? I kinda see an erlbacher in your future 😂. Speaking of dancing…my granddaughter dances with Alabama Ballet. Towards the end of the month she starts traveling with the Balanchine’s Nutcracker. Next month she’ll be in Birmingham. If you get a chance to come down I d be happy to get you a ticket. Get Kendrick some knitting lessons.
Why yes I do own a spinning wheel and dear goodness I don't think I can have a sock knitting machine too. LOL I don't need nor do I have the space for it. Love to hear your granddaughter is a dancer too. I enjoy watching Balanchine's Nutcracker, a little said I never got to dance it tbh.
I’m so sorry that people are blasting you with that disgusting bull. I know you said not to worry about sending love in the comments, but too bad. I’m a new knitting podcaster and I love your videos. I love that you are unapologetically yourself and I think you are amazing. Knit on and prosper, friend.
Great podcast as always. Next time let Kendrick in😂 love all your makes and color choices. I will never understand people who feel the need to leave hateful comments everywhere they go.
Thanks so much! I’ll have to have Kendrick back in the room for everyone in the next episode. The short answer is, they have nothing better to do. 🤷🏽♂️
Omg who takes time to watch something just to leave a nasty comment. I personally can say that I love your videos. Didn’t watch Reinbek video because it reinforces that my FOMO was justified. 😂😂
People who don’t have a life tbh. 🤷🏽♂️ Thanks so much for your support. It means a lot. I totally get the FOMO of watching those vids. No worries though. You’ll see all the things I picked up while there on the regular podcasts. 😁
Shocked!! You've never mentioned anything about that, so it's no-one else's gd business. Anyway, Greetings from a fellow traveller. Ha ha. Couple of things I've come up with in my 64 years: I call it "justified self-loathing by proxy", so it's actually nothing to do with you/me. Secondly, I have a theory that actively hating someone reduces life expectancy, so I'm always more than happy to oblige just by my very existence. Also, my existence can really ruin someone's day. Again, glad my day had value to the greater good. Love you x
Ignore the haters. Meanwhile, your sock game is strong…like crazy strong….do you actually wear all the socks you knit? And when are you going to feature Kendrick in your podcast? We dog lovers need to see him 🧶🐾🥰.
Shake them off is what Taylor said, right?!?! I do wear the socks that I make. It's fun for me to look down on those days I wear them and see something fun and colorful on my feet. I will try to get Kendrick back on the podcast. Its hard when he is already settled and the video is going. soon enough though.
I'm new to watching your podcast. So happy to find you. We need more folks like you in the world! Keep pushing kindness...... thanks
Welcome, Welcome!!! So happy you have made your way over to the channel. Thanks for the kind words, Ill try my best to keep pushing the kindness.
You’re such a sweetheart Michael, a caring person. The podcasting world is so much the richer in having you a part of it. And I so love your socks with the blue and lilac coloured toes, heels & cuffs :-)
Thank you so much for these very kind words. It’s really means a lot. ☺️🙏🏽
Great episode! Those pixilated socks are adorable. Thanks for all the energy and love you share ❤️
Thanks so much!!! I'm really digging those socks too.
You are one of the classiest people I have ever seen, and I've been lucky to live a very long life. I always look forward to seeing you and consider your podcasts time well spent. Thank you for continuing this good work.
Wow, thank you! This means a lot and I hope you continue providing you with more enjoyable times ahead. 🤗
I love the name 'Melted Crayons' for a yarn. When I was a kid I used to break my crayons into small pieces, soften them with the heat of my hands and roll them into crayon marbles.
Thanks so fun!!!
Thanks so much!! and thank you for sharing this. I will have to save it and share it with other I know.
I love the pair of socks with colors opposite for heels, toes and cuffs. Great idea. Thanks.
Thanks!! I thought it was a very fun way to play with those minis. I'm really happy with the final look of them too.
Dude! I’m new to your channel. I like you! You’re fun!!!

I love you, and I love your podcast!
Awe, thanks so much. If you’re on insta I’m always down to chat colors. ☺️
I will take you up on that!

Wonderful episode! I always look forward to seeing your smiling face and your lovely knits!
Glad you enjoyed it! That's very king of you to say. :-)

Love seeing your socks and all. Thanks and best wishes for more November. Peace.
Thanks! So many socks coming in thanks to those tubes. All the peace and light to you this November as well.
Your attitude inspires me. I will make a piece and spread some peace too! ❤
Love this. Lets continue to create the good we want to see in this world.

You handle that so amazing well. While this maybe be the only place I know you.- your personality definitely shows in your videos. And you showed just how awesome you are again. ❤
Thank you for this and for the kind words. This is sweet and means a lot. Peace to you!
Hands down you knit the most beautiful socks in the universe! Looking forward to casting on my pair from Michelle soon!
Wow! Thanks for thinking so. I do really enjoy knitting them. Michelle's yarn is really the best. Cast those babies on now!!! LOL
You handle things with such class. Sending you the positive energy. Keep creating your pieces are stunning. Happy knitting and spinning 💚🧶💚

Unforgivable, theres no need for the hate. Everyone Should embrace fellow crafters no matter how you identify.

Love you!❤
🥰🥰🥰
Love all of your socks. The colors are great.
Thank you so much!
My husband's socks are also a 68 st count, which is why most of my sock designs (if possible) have sizes for every 4 st difference in them, not 8.
Love that!!! Ill have to check out some of your designs too!!!
Love that cup
Thanks! I’m pretty sure I got it at a renaissance fair😂
Very cool tubes and love the sweater vibe.
Thanks and Thanks! I'm so happy with those tube and cant wait to make them all socks soon.

I missed your Rhinebeck upload!
Much Peace to you in the weeks ahead.
love you michael! ❤
🥰🥰🥰
So glad to see you on Beyoncé’s internet! Maybe Kendrick needs a sock machine? Your finished socks look really fun! Best luck with your sweater. Only it knows it’s destiny. 😊
Thanks for coming to hangout on her internet with me! LOL Kendrick would love a sock machine but his own cant afford it at this time. We shall see what happens with that sweater. I'm excited to see where it will end up too.
You are such a joy to follow- I even saw you at Rhinebeck on your recap❤
So ready to sit and listen to you - got my cup of tea👍🏻
Thanks for thinking so! Hope you enjoy your tea, and crafting, while watching this episode. 🤗✌🏽
The acorn jar... my heart... so cute! I hope the seaside tee works out for you but if not the colors are so lovely together
Right!?!?! I need to learn how to make one of the felted acorns. I'm really digging the colors too. Fingers crossed it all works out. If not, it will make a lovely gift.
I love those socks! They look so cool that you alternated the blue and lavender!
Thank you! 😊 I’m happy I made that little mod.
People can be trash! You are a wonderful person, you are the best! Btw, I bought a similar bag from Beautiful Syster, “bag siblings” my first Beautiful Syster bag😛 Michael made me do it;)
I have no regrets for enabling you to get one of their bags. LOL They are truly the best!!!
@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast we say no re-grurt!
I hope the Seaside tee fits you because it is cute as heck but if it doesn't, I am in the chicagoland area and those are myyyyy colors 😁
😂😂 I’ll keep that in mind once it’s done. That would save me a lot on postage if I didn’t have to mail it to someone.
Never mind the haters. There are over 8 billion people in the world and their opinions are as meaningless as a grain of sand on a beach.
Facts! Thanks for this reminder.
@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast Thanks.
What size needle do I use for dk socks?
@@marianraecrochetknit1199 I think most DK patterns call for a US 3.
@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast thank you.
My Kendrick (cat) does that too, when he's not trying to use his paws to open the door😂
LOL
Love the podcast, as always, BUT THAT MUG!!!! It’s gorgeous. Where is it from?
Thanks so much!! OMG I got that mug from a Renaissance Fair last year. I will try to see if I have the card for them and edit this comment later.
❤️❤️❤️
🥰🥰🥰
Please ignore the nasties. You are a beautiful human. God Bless ❤
Will do!!🥰🙏🏽
❤
🥰
Thanks for another enjoyable episode. I love all your striped socks and your technique is intriguing. I've been hesitant to use minis for heels and toes as I think of those as high stress/use areas on a sock and am afraid the yarns will come apart more easily at those joins. Any tips?? ☮✌🧶
Thanks so much!! Is you are worried about those high stress areas blowing out, you could try using a nylon reinforcement thread help with your sock yarn to provide a little more strength. Hope that works. ✌🏽
Thanks for that suggestion! 🧦✌@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast
Lol crank that Soulja Boy,! Always reminds me of Devin Hester!
LOL
Well thank you for the love, it means a lot and I love how supportive our little community is over here. 🧡✌🏽
Thanks so much for your support.
Love you x
THIS!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🥰
Kendrick’s attempt at knitting was as successful as my Gary trying to knit with mohair 😂😂😂
LOL what is with them thinking they can take up our hobby?!?! Like, go get your own thing. LOL
Happy Veterans Day and Friday, in your opening the yellow, and gray color socks, what is the name of the pattern they’re ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Those are the Kumiko socks by Yucca. They were originally featured in issue 42 of PomPom
Very fun knit with a cool construction.
@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast 🤎 thank you
You know you can have those dance tapes digitized? 👀
Ssshhhhh, we don’t want others to know that this is an option. 😂🙃
@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast 😂😂😂
❤️✌🏻🧶
🥰✌🏽🥰
Ignore the haters. Meanwhile, your sock game is strong…like crazy strong….do you actually wear all the socks you knit? And when are you going to feature Kendrick in your podcast? We dog lovers need to see him 🧶🐾🥰.
Shake them off is what Taylor said, right?!?!
I do wear the socks that I make. It's fun for me to look down on those days I wear them and see something fun and colorful on my feet.
I will try to get Kendrick back on the podcast. Its hard when he is already settled and the video is going. soon enough though.
Cyber nephew, they are just jealous and talentless! Hugs
Hey Cyber Auntie! You're so right. Sending hugs your way too.
