Robert, I just wanted to thank you and your crew one more time. You guys did an absolutely outstanding job creating My Reykjavik gold series with a rose tint blue flash. I have an eye condition that has made me legally blind. I’ve been watching this channel for over a year. I finally figured out the combination that I want in my mind I had to relay what I wanted to Robert, and he added a few things to make it pop more. My glasses are the best that I’ve ever owned, and I will be ordering several more pair.thank you again everyone at the spectacle factory for their magnificent work
Jason, thank you as I know it took time to get them perfect for you. But I think in the end it was worth all the work we put into it. Your pair is truly incredible and I'm glad you're enjoying them. Hopefully the high contrast tint is giving you some degree of improvement in your vision
@@thespectaclefactory the pink is one of the best colors when dealing with UV lights and non-natural lights for my condition. With the addition of the transition to it, makes it even more comfortable on my eyes.
Another great video. It is amazing how much difference a bit of customization can make. I can't wait to receive my Masunaga rimless with sweet violet tint and custom lens shape. Always great to work with Robert and The Spectacle Factory!
I'm an avid eyewear collector and Cartier is my number one brand... and even though they're owned by Kerring now, they still will always be! I want those green woods with those octagon contrast lenses in that matching green. Those are too sharp!
Robert i must say, since you made that one rimless gradient tint for me, it gives me a complete different personality, im looking forward to make many more from you in different shapes n tints, i would than have a bigger and better collection than elton john
I do like my reykjavik eyes Sirus pair a lot. Awesome tint on them. But one thing I don't like about many rimless is how much the join/hinge creeps into the field of view in the lens. You get used to it after a while and it does disappear but its a bit like having an annoying fly in your vision for a while. Lindberg look like the only designer that have addressed this as the clasp doesn't intrude much at all. If i was getting another pair, i'd try Lindberg as the base and customise from there (if possible of course)
That's a fair point. Hoya years ago developed a system with zero drill holes through the lens and therefore no visual interruption... but it didn't take off and they eventually discontinued it. It was called Avantek and the machinery to produce them was all sold off and dismantled
A year ago I bought the McLaren sport series. I have worn glasses for 35 years and I can safely say they’re the best I’ve ever had. I live in Arizona, USA and I was a bit hesitant to buy long distance, but Robert made the experience painless. He gave me options and helped me choose the right frames and lenses for me. The frames arrived swiftly with no issues whatsoever. The prescription was spot on and I use multifocal. Superb quality all around. It’s getting close for me to update my prescription but i will just upgrade the lenses. I’m very happy with my McLaren and I don’t want to change to another brand for a while. Thank you Robert!
Great video! These rimless glasses are truly 'less is more' in action! They add so much style and comfort while being less intrusive if you want. Love the sleek and minimalist design from Reykjavik Eyes - they're absolutely timeless. Keep up the awesome content!
Lindberg Spirit Titanium Rimless in matt grey. . .Pure minimalism and it perfectly complements my grey temples. It is like I do not wear glasses. If I could afford a pair of Lindberg Presious Spirit in Platinum would be awesome. Excellent video!
I know you don’t approve but I’ve had my Silhouettes rimless two years now and they are still good as new and look just as good as some these you’ve shown here. Especially since mine are in cool blue titanium with blue photofusion x and ruby flash coating. Icing on the cake was the fact that the optician here offered 50% discount on the frames when buying the prescription lenses from them.
I've been wearing glasses for 10 years the only time I've scratched a lens it was on a polycarbonate type.. I loved my rimless frames, they were NEOstyles & I loved them.
I had a terrible experience purchasing Lindberg rimless glasses from a local store. The lens coating would always creak whenever they drilled the holes. The store tried multiple brands of Trivex lenses, including coatings from Zeiss, but no matter what they used, the coating was always damaged when the holes were drilled. I don’t blame the brand; I’m convinced the issue was with the store's technician not knowing how to properly build the glasses. Unfortunately, this ended up wasting two months of my time. I eventually requested a refund and am now looking for a better store to order from. This time, I think I'll go with Silhouette. Moral of the story: Make sure the store and its technician are skilled in assembling rimless glasses!

I was about to purchase Cartier rimless sunglasses $1495 last night. I am so glad I went in-store to look at them first over ordering them online. I wasn't impressed. They were very lightweight and felt inexpensive too, meaning they were not worth over $1K.
This was a very informative video, thank you. Im due new glases soon but i could not afford any you have described on this video. Can you give advice on what rimless glasses to choose on a limited budget?
Any thoughts on Sillhouette rimless glasses? I’ve been wearing them for years and have never had any problems. I’m tough on glasses, and my Sillhouette’s don’t break, and they are comfortable and light. Made in Austria.
I have watched several of your videos on rimless glasses, very interesting. I purchased some Lunor classic anatomic M. Do you know them? What do you think of them?
At 2:43, hmmm... I've got a bright idea. In a future video, how about taking 2 pairs of the exact same frames, put real glass lenses in one and Trivex lenses in the other and compare the differences. I'm sure many people would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of each lense material and how they look on the face. Just sayin'. ; )
Hi! A year ago you had a toss up between Masunaga and Matsuda frames. What's your stance between them now, considering you've been highly recommending the Masunagas recently.
Which brands would you recommend for getting the best quailty sunglasses for below 200 eur/220 dollars. Where lenses > frame > durability> original design is the order of importance. Is it mostly just Gast and the other budget options from the best sunglasses video, or are there any new contenders?
A technical question about rimless tech: Can the silicone band be stretched to allow for a bigger lens than the stock lens or can the shape of the lens merely be custom made while retaining the same circumference?
Is it possible to customize the 2024 Santos de Cartier frames with the shield shape of the 2023 model through your site? The squared off top + rounded bottom is a much better look IMO.

Taking them off with one hand is bad cause it causes added tension and stress on the opposite side which may lead to breaking the glasses at the drill points or at the minimum, loosening the bolts. So both things are bad.
Great that you show the prices, that helps a lot when deciding on a frame! Please keep doing that in all videos, thanks!

Yes, it can be stretched somewhat, so you can go 2-3mm larger with no issues, maybe slightly more depending on the overall circumference of the shape.
