What a joy to watch this video. Ben Sollee has a voice from Kentucky's back hills and a rhythm that makes my blood dance. LOVE IT! He is only better live.
Hey Ben: We just saw you at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville Sunday night. I told you "your voice took me to another place" and you hugged me and met my 14 year old son (cellist) who couldn't even talk he was so in awe of your talent. Just wanted to say thanks so much for being an inspiration for my son and his girlfriend, they now see the cello in a whole different light. I'm sending your name and youtube info to my whole family so we all can enjoy your music. Tracy from Hendersonville, TN
YESSSS I AM SO HAPPY! Ben, I caught you via WNKU 89.7 and the cable access live concerts. I've been trying to find this song for years. Please post more! Thank you Ben
Ben your solo tonight at Georgia Tech's Ferst Center was AMAAZZZZZZZZZZINGGGGGG!!! It is very rare to hear an applause like that after a performance. You deserved every bit of it. Thanks for the beautiful music. I can't wait to see you on Nov 6th.
JUST SAW HIM IN CONCERT!! He did an amazing job, and this song was really, really great. I'm serious when I say you should all go see him- he's beautiful!! I told him that. Because men can be beautiful! Thanks Ben Sollee.
He is amazing, and he goes on Bike Tours. Lugs around his Cello in a pull cart on the back of it. He rode from Lexington to Bonnaroo and played a line of gigs on the way on a bike and then played Bonnaroo, and this Winter he toured the South East of the US and went into Florida on a bike playing shows along the way. He is amazing musically.
I saw this preformed at the Myrna Loy Theater in Helena Montana with Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, it honestly changed my life, made me realize music is what I wanted to do with my life
Ben, I saw you perform when I was at the Jimmy Kimmel Live taping...exceptional to say the least...you were the highlight of the night...let me know if you're ever in the South Bend, Indiana (or Chicago) would love to bring my wife to a concert of yours, I told her you were absolutely amazing!! Thanks for opening my eyes up to the beauty of your cello.
ah....this collaborations just makes me feel so happy and in love w/ my Sons, and all boys, from a mother's heart. You sweet, beautiful son's/boys, we who adore you so, hope to raise you to be the men-to-be, boys, man-children, of the future we need you to be a part of.
I got turned on to him after seeing on Kimmel too. How long has this guy been playing for? He has such a great voice and a unique style I'm surprised that I haven't heard of him.
This guy was going to play at a local concert in Louisville that had some folk musicians from Kentucky that me and my dad were playing at, and I was probably going to see him up close and talk to him or something. BUT NO! A fucking volcano has to go off in like Iceland or some shit and stop flights from coming in to America. -_-
+Kevin Taaffe The album came out 8 years ago, so unless you're saying this is THE BEST music in the past 8 years, then you've already answered your question. Also this isn't pop music so that's another important reason.

I love all of Ben sollee's music because it is pure genus what he does

Blues and folk music had a baby and then died in a tragic car accident so classical music ended up raising him. That's Ben sollees story
+Daniel O'Connor Interesting spinning and metaphor-making, Daniel. A bit harsh, but I like it...a lot! For what that's worth : )
WHY isn't this man more well known?! Where's his Grammy Award?
downtown louisville skatepark... one of the greatest cities around
I've been in love with Ben since he played live for us at GSA this year.

Wonderful!
You've probably already heard of Andrew Bird, but in case you haven't, I think you'd be into it if this is the type of music you dig.

@thelastmike it was probably Phoebe Hunt!
Why is this not top of the charts? never mind I just remembered how brain dead most of humanity is...
